9:00 I always liked the more practical suit up sequences, the Iron Man suit being a bulkier thing makes it feel more powerful and cool, imo, the suitcase armor is both funny and cool, I can just imagine Tony walking around with his funny little 'red racecar' briefcase. While I appreciate nano-machines in comic books and, by extension, the movies, they tend to work more like magic, to be honest. I mean, hero gadgetry has always tended to do whatever the story needs them to, that has always been the case, but it's especially true of nanomachines, it's almost like a Lantern's ring, in that it's basically an expression of the imagination.
The wait for this video was worth it. I like that at 3:45 seconds into the video, you mentioned the intention to adapt the 'Demon in a Bottle' storyline. I read that Downey Jr's wife feared that her husband would regress back into his chequered alcoholic past. Also, if you are still planning on doing 'The Comics That Inspired the MCU: Thor (2011)' , if you're struggling, contact me, and I'll give you a hand. ⚡️👍
I've been wanting something like this for ages. A deep dive into what comic books inspired the MCU movies. Great series so far. Can't wait to see you cover the Captain America, Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy films.
I think the demon in a bottle storyline would’ve worked better in iron man 3 since it would’ve added to his stress and could have been a way to not think about aliens invading
Ok at 2:04 I started laughing so hard I damn near passed out. I have been having a shit week I missed Christmas with my wife and won't be home until next month. Thank you so much for this video I really needed a good laugh. Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
I really enjoy this series! It's possibly my fav thing you're doing, and your content is consistently high quality across the board. I know that if your analytics told you this was one to focus on more, you would...but for my part I'd love to see this series become a more regular/frequent feature.
Fantastic video, Josh! Really enjoy these comic book deep dives into the MCU inspirations. I really hope we get a video from you regarding your thoughts on Deadpool & Wolverine! I personally loved it. And as a fellow 90s comics fan, there was a treasure trove there of fun nods to classic Wolverine comics from that era! Especially a certain Multiverse hopping scene.
Micheline and Layton (along with Mark Bright) are the very best of the Iron Man writers/artists, IMO. I collected all of IM Vol 1, and it is easy to see how it deteriorated after those guys left the title...
One thing I want to point out about Iron Man 2 is that the briefcase’s transformation into an Iron Man suit in the movie was inspired by how the Briefcase in the Iron Man Cartoon was able to transform itself into an Iron Man suit. In the comics, the suitcase just carried parts of an Iron Man suit so that Tony Stark could put together & wear it.
Really excited for this series and im.glad it popped up in my suggestions. Studying the history of art and adaptation is very important. Really excited to potentially watch this over and over.😅
Been rewatching the MCU and saw Iron Man 2 two days ago and I forgot how much I loved that MCU War Machine suit and also the briefcase suit. Honestly I prefer War Machine over Iron Man so I’m glad he suited up here. This movie was better than I used to remember
Thank you Josh continue one of my Fav Series Comics That Inspired the MCU loved first two ones and this one keep up awesome content excited when you expose Thor and Captain America first solo films.
Bro you hadn’t posted in a while. I was starting to worry about you!! I was literally going to Instagram seeing the last time you posted pictures of toys😂. Glad you are doing well and still uploading.
More of these please not sure if u intend to have this series in order of the movie releases. Been watching the movies then to watch each vid for the 3 movies you have done within this series has been the silver lining of finishing the movie. For such a short video it’s very informative must be in some way time-consuming to make accurate so much appreciated
Finallyyyyy the video I've been wanting for the longest time, thank you so much Josh I watched this day one but was at work and couldn't comment. You're the best mate 🤘🏻🤘🏻🔥
Can anyone recommend some novels that are similar to the Fantastic Four, in the sense that it blends elements and themes of family, action/adventure, exploration, and sci-fi together?
I thought about including this but decided not to. The Mark 33 in Iron Man 3 is the MCU’s proper attempt at the Silver Centurion, so I’d be more inclined to mention it in that video.
Oh yeah good call...he really is Crimson Dynamo...I genuinely didn't catch the name of his father. It's been a while. This is awesome, there are so many little things that passed me by. Great stuff.
If I had a nickle for every time a metal based super hero crashed in the Indy 500 I'd have two nickles which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice (with Robotman as well)
Always felt the choice to combine Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo bizarre. I guess they wanted to avoid the villain being a evil Iron Man like Iron Monger but feels odd to not use the appearance and name of Iron Man most famous classic foe other than the Mandarin. Could have just gave Dynamo the whips. At the same time though, the modern day Whiplash Anton Vanko we got from this movie has been a nice addition to Iron Man rogue gallery.
Can't wait until you get to The Avengers and you have to compare it to its more deranged direct counterpart; The Ultimates (I also hope you go into the Ultimate Avengers animated movie a little bit on the side).

Can't believe I've never seen Iron Man 2
Not missing much

Oh yeah, this is a great point. I didn't consider that the cartoon could have been influence even though that intro is burned into my brain.

Nice to see you back mate!!!!
It should also be noted that the suitcase armor in Iron Man 2 resembles the Silver Centurion armor, which first appeared in Iron Man issue 200
great job man :)
Welcome back, you’re my favorite comics TH-camr by far dude ❤
Thank you Josh continue one of my Fav Series Comics That Inspired the MCU loved first two ones and this one keep up awesome content excited when you expose Thor and Captain America first solo films.

Hell yeah, man! Glad to see this one. And I'm loving the boiler suit look (if it is indeed a boiler suit).
LETS GOOOOO NEW VIDEO
Im excited for you to do Thor next i love the first thor movie from kenneth branagh
Can anyone recommend some novels that are similar to the Fantastic Four, in the sense that it blends elements and themes of family, action/adventure, exploration, and sci-fi together?
Oh, it’s good to be back.
love this series so much
Welcome back
But from what issue does the warlord supervillain Elon, originates from?
Keep it up bro
No silver centurion mention?! I thought the suitcase armor was a nod to it 🤔
I thought about including this but decided not to. The Mark 33 in Iron Man 3 is the MCU’s proper attempt at the Silver Centurion, so I’d be more inclined to mention it in that video.
Can you do videos like this for other non mcu movies like Spider-Man, hulk, the fantastic four and X-Men movies
Oh yeah good call...he really is Crimson Dynamo...I genuinely didn't catch the name of his father. It's been a while.
This is awesome, there are so many little things that passed me by. Great stuff.
He's also in Agent Carter and as Ivan is younger, worked with Howard
Great job, as always. Sam Rockwell and Mickey Rourke make this movie for me.
Great video!
Nine video man you kick ass at the comic book stuff
If I had a nickle for every time a metal based super hero crashed in the Indy 500 I'd have two nickles which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice (with Robotman as well)
Finally another iron man video

I like Iron Man 2
Yeeess finally
Can't wait until you get to The Avengers and you have to compare it to its more deranged direct counterpart; The Ultimates (I also hope you go into the Ultimate Avengers animated movie a little bit on the side).
10:00 Iron Man fought Megaman?
2:03 😳
I hope that Deadpool and Wolverine is good.🤞🏽
It could spell doom for the MCU if it's too silly or "zany."
How is he both an iron and a man? Bro don't even get the wrinkles out of my clothes. Make it make sense.
hell yeah
I always thought this movie was overhated.
Iron man 2 bored my whole family
Bro I thought you died 😭
You look better with short hair.
300 views in one hour? Bro fell off
Thanks for the words of encouragement.
@@PanelstoPixels Don't listen to him, your videos are some of the best comic book videos on TH-cam, glad to have you back!
@@PanelstoPixels Sorry I didn't mean offence. I've just seen people post stuff like that in other comment sections as a joke, I love your videos.
