If you are game jump over the fence of silvan resevoir. The brownies average about 3 to 4 pound. My best was a 76 cm jack brownie. Awesome fishing but its illegal. My advice is to run into the bush when the water guy is driving at you. He wont chase you but he will try and get you when you go to your car. Sometimes you wont be bothered but sometimes you have to run! i cant resist because the fis are in great condion. no fin clips. i think yhey spawn in the 2 creeks that run in and out. I sometimes bring the fly rod but mostly the spin rod.. its absolutly brilliant and i wish they would allow the public to fish here. ps. its best spring and autumn and a bit of wind and chop brings those beautiful brownies in clse.
I haven't seen anything caught on a tassie there but have no doubt they would eat them. There's not many of the big ones left but I spotted one the day this was filmed
@@HawkesyFishing fantastic video thank you, what is the reason you wouldn't you eat fish from here? By the way the water is crstal clear in there now. Not a fisher (yet) but I do swim there.
Hey I was wondering do you have a sinker on the line or no?
just the weight of the jighead
Excellent work. Some good instruction in there.

Do the Tassies work well there too ? Any luck with the big broods they've put in there?

What size jig head were you using?
Size 1 1/12oz from memory
@@HawkesyFishing would a 1/8th be good as well?
@@scuderiaferrari2068 at fern tree gully it would. At a shallower lake you might have trouble with it collecting weed off the bottom
Another great video mate. A couple of nice little rainbows there, that last one was a bit feisty.
Great video and thnx for the info :)
Great video bud
Thanks man
Nicely done once again mate 👍
Nice vid mate! What do you rate best? Lilydale lake, yarrambat lake or this quarry?
The quarry has fished better for me but it's been a long time since I fished lilydale
What time of day did you head down there?
This was filmed between 12 and 2 in the afternoon
Great video mate will have a crack there tomorrow
Thanks mate, hope you get onto a couple tomorrow
This is a bloody nice lake. Fished it a few times before they fixed it up. ANY luck with the natives yet?
I haven't actually been back since but heard of the odd one getting caught
@@HawkesyFishing Good to hear!
Great video mate!! awesome information. Do you think the quarry is clean enough to keep a reddie or trout? Thank you😄
I wouldn't eat anything out of there
@@HawkesyFishing alright makes sense as it is still in the suburbs. Might just go for a catch and realease sometime then👍

Is it legal to keep fish from the quarry in closed season ?
Closed season for trout only applies to rivers in victoria
What pound leader sr you using
6lb fluro
literally like a 30 minute walk from me would love to grab i fish but iv been there many times and people treat it like shit which ucks
Yeah unfortunately it seems to have gone down hill since I filmed this
Whats tha biggest size roughly u can get at that quarry ?
They put a bunch of broodstock fish in there earlier this year. Fish around 3kg I believe
Thought it would be a lot busier than that.
Perks of midweek fishing
Great Vid Hawkesy....and timely.....Ive been wanting to find out more about Quarry lake as Im only 20 minutes away....Thanks!!
Thanks David
The old didn’t turn the camera on trick 🎥
