Hi Tom. When I lived in Melbourne 1987-1994, Albert Park Lake was a brilliant carp fishery. best I had out of there was 28lb. Good to see trout being stocked in there though.
Great stuff. gotta love Victoria, so much good stuff down your way. Really enjoying your channel. Nice to keep adding stuff for the next trip south! Appreciate the lockdown entertainment, too. Cheers PP
Hi mate, nice video. Just wondering if you had some advice on where to find fish on a pontoon or vessel without a sounder? You seemed to find the pocket of fish in this lake nicely. I'm in W.A and know the fishery is totally different here but still thought I'd ask. Thank you
I don’t always find them 😂 but water coverage is key, when I’m not using electronics to find them I usually fish shallow water and keep moving until I do. I hope that helps, but essentially keep moving and don’t get bogged down
@@tomjarmanfishing3208 haha yeah true, but you certainly get into lots of fish in comparison to me!! thanks for that tip, I'll start shallow and move around the shallows
Cracking vid Tom I was never sure you could put a kayak on the lake - I always thought it was a leased lake and only Albert park YC could get on the lake - has that changed or do you need a permit
Hey Nick, I checked the Parks Vic page before going and it all implies that they are, in ‘things to do’ it has kayaking, canoeing, rowing, fishing and sailing. I hope that’s right :)
Yep! Spot on@@tomjarmanfishing3208 . Great piece. Ideal for engendering youngsters' interest . . . and the old boys and girls too. 😃 Though, having said that, someone, in my company last night, said that flyfishing around AP Lake's perimeter was 'verboten'. Not other forms of fishing, just flyfishing. Something to do with danger to pedestrians . . . or some such malarky.

I drive past the lake Monday to Friday, from the bird life it appears to be a very healthy lake.
Nice one Tom, I had no idea there were trout right in the middle of Melbourne. Wish we had that in Sydney! :)
Would be nice
Wow
Always wanted to fish Albert Park Lake
Great venue for a State Championship possibly
That’s my dream as well Stu!! It would be so good!
You need a speedboat on the lake so you can cover more area in the 3 hr window.
Get your facts right Nick! Hahaha

From my understanding looking through the Parks Victoria webpage anyone can put a non powered craft on it. Lots of people put a kayaks on it .
Cheers mate and so it should be - awesome to see it used as a public resource
Not allowed to put watercraft on Albert Park Lake!
