Thank you so much for this guide, i can confirm it works. Ive done it with an Gigabyte X99 Ud4 Rev 1.0 and an Xeon E5 2690 v3. got finally my turbocore up to 3.5Ghz on alle cores.

Interestingly, I haven't watched this video until yet. I changed my BIOS to Miyconst optimal (Motherboard is X99-H2) and turboboost all cores is working like a charm. Clean, fast and simple. Thank you for providing these BIOSes and let me solve this issue without tweaking manually things. I definitely recommend to look first for already created by Miyconst BIOSes and if there is available do like in video only if you want to have fun.

I need help. I successfully flashed my bios but when i boot it up, my bios is just a black screen. I can still boot windows but when i boot into bios, it just shows a black screen.
I can still press esc or f10 in the bios and it still works. It seems like my gpu can't display the bios or it does not priorities my gpu.
My gpu is rx 5500 xt.

Thanks for good tutorial 😄, though I had to struggle a bit with reading/writing the BIOS from/to my motherboard - maybe this info would be helpful for someone. I'm using E5-2697 v3 2.6GHz with ASRock X99 Extreme4.
FPT can't handle reading the BIOS from chip - it only returns "Error 26: The host CPU does not have read access to the target flash area. To enable read access for this operation you must modify the descriptor settings to give host access to this region." - probably chip has some more security thingies preventing read/write operations from OS, hard to say.
So, you need to make another pendrive with FreeDOS, and use AFUDOS to read the BIOS from chip (command: afudos backup.bin /o)
Then you do the rest as in video with MMTool (ignore the warning about saving secure rom as unsigned)
And after this, flash your prepaired BIOS with AFUDOS (command: afudos backup.bin /gan).
Do the rest as in video, and.. well, profit - it works, all at 3.6GHz.
Moreover, you can do slight overclocking, if your cooler can handle it. For me it's 3.8GHz with quite budget-AIO, Corsair H75. This CPU is a beast, built-in CPU-Z benchmark almost reaches the result from i9-10850K in multithread, though temperatures could reach around 80*C on hottest core, with all cores being used (and 85*C when AVX Instructions kicks-in, when, for instance, converting videos with ffmpeg). Anyway, it's excellent performance for ~160$.
Ah, and I did this on Windows 11 Techincal Preview - can confirm, that it works flawlessly on this OS
Thanks for so much useful info! If you have time and desire, you can try my other tutorial with FFS driver baked into the BIOS. With this you don't have to install any additional EFI driver and it won't be lost with clear CMOS.

It's not possible to overclock memory with locked Xeon E5 V3 CPUs, official specs is the maximum you can get using the Chinese motherboards.
I found the current price of e5 4600 v3 series haven't raise too much, but their clock speed are much slower than 2600 series. If your usage can benefit from multi-cores and not focus on gaming, you can still stay at X99 platform.
That's true. Another issue is the reduced memory controller speed, which also significantly hurts performance in many cases.

You have removed the Turbo Boost Unlock EFI driver from your system drive, that's why the system is not stable. You have to disable "Power Technology" option in the BIOS, install Windows, and then install the EFI driver again. It would be even better if you could use another Turbo Boost Unlock method, which injects the driver into the BIOS itself. For anyone experiencing my issue: read his first link (the one in russian), it describes some power management settings in bios that will correct freezes. Mine is now working! Thanks brother!! Operating at 2.8ghz - 3.2ghz from 2.3ghz.

Right now Xeon E5-2640 V3 has the best gaming performance for its money. Xeon E5-2650 V3 is very close in gaming, but slightly better in working tasks for the same price.

got an e5 2690 v3 for arround 200€ and its like a beast with the Xeon Unlock. 12 cores with 3.5GHz
Followed everything to a last step, did this to Kllisre ZX-DU99D4_v1.12, and bricked my board 😕
CH341A clip programmer could not be used to save the board, as the BIOS chip was not on the list of supported BIOS chips.
So, in short: your mileage may vary.
Be ready to say goodbye to your motherboard, if things go bad.
I guess I can still de-solder the BIOS chip, and put in the one that matches the programmer clip software, but that is something I do not know how to do properly.
My motherboard had ram issues, and V4 CPUs could not work in dual socket config for me. Perhaps this Turbo Boost mod further heightened the issues and finally broke it.
To find out later, my motherboard was one of the ones where those 20_20 undervolt files actually don't work, and in worst case brick your board.

@@Miyconst But there's another way to increase performance (only for gaming) by powershell mod. I saw TechYesCity doing that on e5 2689. But I am not sure it'll work on other xeon e5 0r not.
@@mr_robot5821 There might be other ways, but Turbo Boost Unlock is only possible on Xeon E5-2600 V3 / E5-4600 V3 CPUs.

Most branded motherboards have locked BIOS, you need an external flash programmer to read/write modded BIOS.

Asus bios files have cap extensions, while Asrock bios files do not. Can i add the cap extension to those Asrock bios files, so that the files could be recognized by UEFITool or MMTool?
Adding a file name extension is not going to change the content of the file. If UEFITool fails to open the fail - it's not a binary BIOS file, you need a raw binary BIOS file for these tools.
Thank you for the guide. For your information, it doesn't work on my Kllisre X99 D4, I get "Error 280: Failed to disable write protection for the BIOS space!" when flashing the BIOS.

@@Miyconst oh okay! Thank you! It worked but now I have an other issue. When booting back into windows after copying the driver file in EFI Shell, windows gets stuck on the spinning dots. Is this a problem or should I wait? Thank you for your help
Okay I disabled the driver in bios, then windows booted fine. I finished the procedure, then reactivated the driver in bios. Now it works, 3.3GHz all core on 2678v3. Thank you!

Definitely forget about the X5680 / X5675, they are just way too old. E5-1650 is a very good option, especially if you overclock it. If you don't want to overclock - go for E5-2689.

There is no such thing as "safe" when it comes to AliExpress motherboards. What your CPU and motherboard are capable of can be discovered experimentally.

what i noticed after activating the turbo unlock it saids the core voltage offset to -0.021 and it is grayed out in xtu. Before mod it allows you to play around with the offset
Modifying BIOS is basically disabling Intel XTU. XTU can't work without original Intel CPU microcodes.

It's not possible. Memory overclocking with locked E5 V3 CPUs is not supported.

Chipsets: X99, C612.
BIOS settings: Miyconst ideal.
CPU voltage: -70mv.
BMI voltage: -50mv.
Turbo Unlock Driver: v3_payne_70_50.ffs.
@@albertbr100 it seems like you have the second revision of the motherboard, it is not compatible with the old BIOS. Check for the new BIOS on iEngineer's GitHub.

You will have to install the drivers from the USB drive again, but the rest you don't have to repeat.
This is very good, but why not just image that USB drive? Booting any other OS can also update microcode? (including windows recovery usb. So having much of this in batch file might be an idea.
..as a lot of people running 2 sockets 24/48 are going to be booting Linux as well.

What is the command you are trying to execute and what is the full error text?
I noticed that when all cores are maxed it drops to 2.8ghz( not gaming, workstation).... I'm guessing it's the power limit as it hits 175w then goes back down to an average of 130w. Do you know a way around this so I can run 175w+ and 3.2ghz constant?
There is no way to run 175 Watt constantly, but you can reduce the CPU voltage to decrease power consumption and increase the clock frequency.

This is going to work with all Xeon E5-2600 series CPUs, as long as the CPU is not an engineering or qualification sample.

10:42 Can flashing the bios like this be done using a usb flash drive, instead of through windows? I applied the turbo boost unlock with 90/50 undervolting on my Jingsha X99 E8I using the flashing tool and it absolutely DOES NOT like the undervolting at all and now my tower blue screens within about 20 seconds of booting into windows so I cannot just go back and use the flashing tool to revert back. I am stuck and can use any input on what to do. I have a laptop to work with for setting anything up and lots of time haahha
Yes, it's possible. You have to use FPT for DOS or AfuDos.
@@Miyconst I seemed to have fixed it! I pulled out all but one 8gb stick of ram and left only my ssd boot drive as well as one 120mm fan on my cpu cooler and my system was stable enough to run the flasher tool through windows and fixed it! I am not sure what may be causing that motherboard to act in such way but it does not like the 90/50 undervolt at all. At least not with an E5 2673v3 using Juhor Memoria ram. The 70/50 undervolt would blue screen regularly too, but only once every couple of days.
@@aaronscrewface it's the silicone lottery, some CPUs are better, some are worse. Usually, -50/50 is guaranteed, lower than that might be problematic.

It's hard to suggest something without knowing your budget. As the base suggestion, you can go with E5-2678 V3.

Yes, it shall work on X99-AD3 as well. The only issue might be with the FPT tool. Try to get a dump of your current BIOS and then flash it back. If that passes - you can unlock turbo boost using this method.

This tutorial works if you can install the required EFI driver.

Yes, it shall work, but you might have problems writing modified BIOS.

It should work, but there is no guarantee. I have tested a couple of Dell T workstations, but didn't have an Alienware.

Yes, you can do that, but I still recommend you to prepare your own BIOS. I have got some reports, that there are two versions of Huananzhi X99-TF. My BIOS works well on ones, and does not Turbo Boost properly on others. So far I have not yet got any reports with bricked motherboards.

Hello, greetings ... I'm just doing this and everything went well but I can not reach the maximum turbo boost, I do not understand the reason yet. I'm using a MSI X99a Gaming 7 mobo, to which I already modified the Bios and I managed to go up from 2.30Ghz original up to 3.30Ghz in all cores running stably during a heavy rendering, however I understand that this E5-2699 v3 processor should reach up to 3.60Ghz max. In the Bios modification I have used several PAYNE drivers almost without showing big difference one with another in the final result. I've used several PAYNE drivers in the bios modification without showing a big difference in the final result, I'm sure you have some idea what could be happening, thanks in advance.
This CPU will not reach 3.6 GHz on all cores under load, the TDP limit is not enough for this many cores.

What Bios Mod do you recommend for my setup! I known that hack turbo boost not work on Xeon E5 V4 , but Bios Mod i believe that improves performance of my system. Which is better to my system ? I recommend you to leave everything as is if it works. There is nothing you can with the V4 CPUs on Huananzhi boards.

@@cje2kz no, it won't change the performance, I only changed a few default values for easier tweaking, for example set smart fan curve to reasonable values.

Hello sir i just want to ask i purchased xeon e5 2678 v3 for my budget rendering and cad workstation. This is the question if i dont do this i only stock to base frequency of 2.5ghz and will not reach the max of 3.3? Or it will automatically go max to 3.3o ghz if my work load is heavy?

Without Turbo Boost unlock your CPU will never reach 3.3 GHz on all cores under load. This is how the CPU is designed by Intel and if you want it to work differently, you have to hack it.
Will this guide work for overclocking X1650 v3 on X99-8M?
No. Overclocking is a different story. To overclock an E5-1650 V3 on Huananzhi X99-8M you have to flash original BIOS from X99-F8 and that's it.
