17 years old in December 2 and 3 back to back Friday and Saturday night in 1982 in NY NY are my first and second out of countless times I had the pleasure and privilege to see them and I knew them and I now I know for sure that all of us who were there we'll never see hear and experience anything close to Rush again.
We who saw them this tour are among the luckiest in human history. This setlist was all the best stuff I thought I was too young to have ever seen, and they just killed it. RIP Neil Peart, you will live forever.
Amazing that after all these years they still have the precision and magic they always had. Sure Geddy's voice is showing signs of ageing, but I can relate to that. Thanks for posting, I really enjoyed this video. I saw them in 1979 and even then I was blown away by how much like their recorded stuff their live music was.
One of the most talented bands in history. Alex is arguably one of the best underrated guitarists, Geddy and The professor are arguably the greatest at their instruments....well never see another Rush.
"Holds camera..." Ooo, 2112 is starting - I'll enjoy this one to the fullest and one important step in doing so is to not bother trying to video it! "Video ends"
Lucky enough to see them play high?schools and bars. Way more than 100 times, live. I'm sure that between bars and concert halls, stadiums, and vinyl, something to do with Rush is why my ears always ring. More like a constant cicada.
Just saw them in Alpharetta, GA two nights ago. Still have a smile on my face from this gem, Jacob's Ladder and Red Barchetta. Thank you for posting the AMAZING VIDEO!!!
One of my favorite Rush songs and very well played! I'm going to miss them but I understand completely why Neil is done touring. Family first! Thanks for the memories and the music guys!
My favorite song!! I am seeing them tonite. I cannot even express how much i hope they play this song. Looks like they will. I don't think they've played this since i saw them the first time, in '81. (could be wrong, but i've seen them like 10 times, and that was the only time i saw them play this)
Fantastic video, great sound and picture! Thanks for sharing! I was fortunate enough to see the show in Atlanta which honestly may be the best show I've ever seen in 30 years of going to concerts :)
Very cool video..thanks! I haven't been to any shows..but from the vids I 've seen ..it's seemed pretty cool that the "stage hands" were stripping the set back to the beginning thru-out the show.
Wow. Thanks not only for sharing, but thanks for making a really good, watchable video! Either you had a tripod or hands of steel, and you were good about zooming or widening sparingly, at the right times. I only wish you kept filming as I hear the next song was 2112. EXCELLENT JOB!!!
Gentlemen, don't hang it up! You have created the only music today that that doesn't lower my IQ when I listen to it. Seriously, I can listen to only so much Bach! I hope to attend a concert promoting your newest creation in 2017! Thanks for all the wonderful music.
R@ked I so wanted to catch that pick as I have an Alex one from a few years back. (which is rare as well...Lerxst does not throw that many out) If it went my way, I would have forgot about the video and grabbed it.
Front row center in Vancouver. Had the tickets now for 2 months and the build up is just insane. This will be only 6th show I've seen of them. Seen them front row in Seattle on CA tour and it was best show I've ever seen. Seen u2, metallic, acdc van Halen scorpions iron Maiden Judas priest primus foo fighters pink Floyd joe satriani eric Johnson Steve Vai. Rush absolutely is no doubt greatest live rock act out there and have been for a very very long time. Front row worth every penny. I just seen u2 on this 2015 tour and was very disappointed.
i was lucky enough to witness this in Austin, 12 row center got my ass kicked!! love these guys and i was not let down at all!! best fucking band ever!!
These guys are human?.... Love the way you filmed Geddy mostly. Back then he was consistently the most engaging, energetic of the two frontmen. Actually, always, I guess. Sorry, Alex. Great solos!✌🤟😘
I've been a fan since the 70's long live RUSH. The world will be a darker place when they stop teuring. I've been to every teur from hemesphiers on and havn't missed one.
I could be wrong but it seemed like his set up wasnt working quite properly in that intro piece. The volume swells werent fading in that well, you arent really supposed to be able to hear the initial plucking of the note... then when the song kicks in at full volume you can hear he doesnt quite get the volume and full tone he's wanting at first. The problem seems to get corrected at about 02:15
Awesome. But one weird thing jumped out at me. They played the entire 11 minute song...but then shortened the ending, what would that minute or so they cut out have killed them?
JayTor2112 Very true, and as a drummer, I also miss the ultrafast drumfill at 8:47 right after the second "Kubla Khan". Always has been one of my favorite Neil Peart moments.
Neil's illness i'd assume...its already a long show you may say...It's known he is completely drained after each show and partly due to his illness. That one minute to thirty seconds could mean a week deserved break...?
17 years old in December 2 and 3 back to back Friday and Saturday night in 1982 in NY NY are my first and second out of countless times I had the pleasure and privilege to see them and I knew them and I now I know for sure that all of us who were there we'll never see hear and experience anything close to Rush again.

- was there that night in St. Paul Best rock show ever! Was on floor center 12 rows back!
RIP Neil. Will never be the same without you. Godspeed.
Geddy's voice is freaking amazing this tour.. what the heck!!! best it sounded in like 15+ years
Kyle Hartle not only that this is in STANDARD TUNING!!! =)
Arguably.. very arguably , the best Rush song ever…. no , I shouldn’t say things like that but this is absolute musical perfection
Was there that night in St. Paul. Best concert I have ever attended! 12th Row center on the floor.
That’s some badass stuff. Literally the best song by the best band.
Peart was one of a kind...missed greatly!! To me Xanadu really showcased everything Rush is about. This song is so freakin amazing still!!! Timeless!
Absolute masters at their craft. Best band ever
So nice to see the doublenecks back in action. An iconic vision of the consistently best live band ever.
One of the most talented bands in history. Alex is arguably one of the best underrated guitarists, Geddy and The professor are arguably the greatest at their instruments....well never see another Rush.
There is another..........Dream Theater
I miss them so much. After seeing them at least ten times live, I still can't stop watching these phenomenal performances.
Thanks.. Finally twin ricky back on stage
Ito Punk Not to mention the twin Gib.
Ito Punk i saw the twin ric in black on farewel to kings tour im sure geddys got the full colour range of rickys amazing bassist
and Ged back on the amps
I was at this concert! 29th time seeing them live.
25th for me. 😀
7:44 *goofy Geddy being goofy Geddy* 7:45 Geddy: "Oh shit! I have to go kick some more ass and sing the lyrics!!
RIP Neil Peart. Love you man.
This is my new favorite live version of Xanadu.
My favorite from the eveing. Thank you so much!
"Holds camera..."
Ooo, 2112 is starting - I'll enjoy this one to the fullest and one important step in doing so is to not bother trying to video it!
"Video ends"
Damn straight. I only taped Xanadu.
I was here for this.
Great show this and Jacob's Ladder were the best!
Love you and miss you Neil...you live on through the music
when I saw them play this in 1977 I knew then I was a fan for life....
Thanks for sharing! I'm going to see Rush this Sat in VA and then in Detroit a couple weeks after. I am losing my mind, it can't come soon enough!
Geo B I am seeing this tour again in Denver. I won't have a front row seat again, but it'll be nice to be in the room!
Im seeing it saturday too and i feel the same way
Geo B I'll be there Saturday too! Can't wait!
thedman113 Great concert at the Jiffy, but holy hell what an awful venue to get in and out of . Holy shitstix
TheFubarFrenzy ikr. Took 90 mins just to get out of parking lot. And then the traffic after u finally got out
Brings tears to my eyes!! Magnificent!!!
Lucky enough to see them play high?schools and bars. Way more than 100 times, live. I'm sure that between bars and concert halls, stadiums, and vinyl, something to do with Rush is why my ears always ring. More like a constant cicada.
I like how Geddy tosses his pick at the end, like: "Here, have this pick... I won't be needing it anymore".
Just saw them in Alpharetta, GA two nights ago. Still have a smile on my face from this gem, Jacob's Ladder and Red Barchetta. Thank you for posting the AMAZING VIDEO!!!
Really nice video, sounds just the way I remember. One of the best bands on the planet!!! Thx. for posting it.
One of my favorite Rush songs and very well played! I'm going to miss them but I understand completely why Neil is done touring. Family first! Thanks for the memories and the music guys!
+manof steele that and his body is shot. When you have to drum Rush songs, it doesn't get easier as you get older.
\m/ One of the all time greatest "Good Morning" -- "Start-of-a-new-Day" tunes ever written! \m/
Mon
Ini
They came to Rochester alot ....being so close to Toronto! Truly the best band of all time !
THANK YOU for this! It was AMAZING!!!
Such a great show, and what a wonderful crowd of good people...
I think Geddy was 63 at the time of this video. Remarkable voice for his age. Rush never gets old. So good.
Fantastic lighting !!!!!
Rush, the greatest ever.... RIP Neil you are missed...
My favorite song!! I am seeing them tonite. I cannot even express how much i hope they play this song. Looks like they will. I don't think they've played this since i saw them the first time, in '81. (could be wrong, but i've seen them like 10 times, and that was the only time i saw them play this)
Boys, you gotta carry that weight...
Thanks for bringing back the double-necks.
Very nice video. I took one as well and uploaded from the 5th row, was my favorite song of the night.
Just enough cow bell, love it.
Thank you. Geddy sings this well after all these years!
Fantastic video, great sound and picture! Thanks for sharing! I was fortunate enough to see the show in Atlanta which honestly may be the best show I've ever seen in 30 years of going to concerts :)
Excellent video!
If you're only going to shoot one video from this tour, this was the song! Saw them in Detroit this weekend, incredible show.
rush simplesmente a maior banda de todos os tempos!!!
This is a great view! Most of us wish you had more to share. I was at the show in GA the week after this.
Awsome. I always wanted to see RUSH in concert but never got the chance. I saw the Who once, and they were great.
this track just gets better as it gets older, great footage, well done.
Thanks! Wonderful to hear this one again last night.
3:40 - Every time I listen to Xanadu, I roll that part back a couple times to hear Neil play the little tune on the cowbells.
Caught my ear too. Loved the little extra add in.
Nice! I was up in club section and shot just the intro to this. Cool to see this from a front row perspective.
Excellent footage!
Very cool video..thanks! I haven't been to any shows..but from the vids I 've seen ..it's seemed pretty cool that the "stage hands" were stripping the set back to the beginning thru-out the show.
That was great to hear,,brought back a lot of memories.
just amazing…was hoping they'd do this tune on their "last" tour. First show was Moving Pictures in 1981 Philadelphia Spectrum
Wow. Thanks not only for sharing, but thanks for making a really good, watchable video! Either you had a tripod or hands of steel, and you were good about zooming or widening sparingly, at the right times. I only wish you kept filming as I hear the next song was 2112. EXCELLENT JOB!!!
Squire Hogg I rested my hands on the rail in the front row. That's what made it steady.
Fuck man, what a treat to be so close!
natabushsuperstar It was incredible. Was there once before 21 years ago. Counterparts tour.
Great show last night. Throat still hoarse. Xanadu a definite high point. Well done on the vid.
Gentlemen, don't hang it up! You have created the only music today that that doesn't lower my IQ when I listen to it. Seriously, I can listen to only so much Bach! I hope to attend a concert promoting your newest creation in 2017! Thanks for all the wonderful music.
Some lucky fan got a Geddy pick! How rare is that?! Thanks for posting.
Geddy doesnt use picks. Only fingers
Kinda my point ;) But he's playing the guitar on his double neck and tosses the pick to a fan at the end. Like I said, rare.
R@ked you're right it is rare
R@ked I so wanted to catch that pick as I have an Alex one from a few years back. (which is rare as well...Lerxst does not throw that many out) If it went my way, I would have forgot about the video and grabbed it.
Belexes You and me both! :)
Saw them tonight in Tampa..great as usual.
Glad to see the Rickenbacker back in Geddy's hands.
I've never heard this song live! It's awesome
Prog and Rush forever! We miss you Neil!
Thank you for sharing! Awesome job!
Wow! That was amazing show.
Front row center in Vancouver. Had the tickets now for 2 months and the build up is just insane. This will be only 6th show I've seen of them. Hard to believe this happened over 7 years ago already
i was lucky enough to witness this in Austin, 12 row center got my ass kicked!! love these guys and i was not let down at all!! best fucking band ever!!
Enjoyed this video! All the best!!
ahhh times were much simpler when Dirk and Lerxst used the Double-Necks
Damn, Geddy sounds great! I can't wait to make the trip to YYZ next weekend for my 14th show.
I missed my chance to see them :( They have been my favorite band through my life and I missed it :(
Beautiful double neck rick
Just for the record, the Bird in the intro would be a Wood Thrush.
Beautiful !
Great video... thanks for sharing!
Amazing!
Three musical geniuses.
How can Geddy see the moog pedals with all that smoke? LOL. Great footage...can't wait for DC tomorrow! Thanks!
*****RUSH...Is the BEST.*****
Surprised that Alex picked those opening notes instead of using the volume swells.
He's a volume pedal guy. Not much for swells.
The problem seems to get corrected at about 02:15
Cool to see the two Marshall stacks behind Alex. Just like the first time I saw them in 1976
they are just props. He goes direct to the PA.
PURE MAGIC! When are you going to play GREECE live?!
Nice to see Ampeg in play
Twin dbl necks & Neil behind
a dbl bass kit. Just like oldtimes!
It's actually remarkable that Getty can still sing that high. He obviously does not do it as well as he once did, but it's remarkable nonetheless.
Neil does it with no effort!!!!!
Seeing them next week HOLY SHITBALLS I CAN'T WAIT.
I was there fantastic show first Rush concert glad to see there still touring
Calgary tomorrow! I can't wait!
It's good to have your own bellboy, eh Neil?
Well done Glee!
Awesome. But one weird thing jumped out at me. They played the entire 11 minute song...but then shortened the ending, what would that minute or so they cut out have killed them?
JayTor2112 AGREED!!!!!
JayTor2112 That was always one of my favourite parts of the song! The little duet guitar medley is such an awesome ending.
JayTor2112 More like 30 seconds worth... how could they leave that part out?
JayTor2112 Very true, and as a drummer, I also miss the ultrafast drumfill at 8:47 right after the second "Kubla Khan". Always has been one of my favorite Neil Peart moments.
Neil's illness i'd assume...its already a long show you may say...It's known he is completely drained after each show and partly due to his illness. That one minute to thirty seconds could mean a week deserved break...?
This tune is based on a poem entitled "Kubla Khan; Or, a voice in a dream" by Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Awesome!
HELL YES!!! Now where's that 2112?
A sacred moment on Mt Olympus
