    I dream of a day when I can have my sewing space in a spare room with a window! Currently, I have a very nice, efficient, and functional space in a large and long walk-in closet, but it has no window. Your tour helped me visualize how I might set up a spare bedroom, if I ever moved my sewing tables, etc. Thank you for sharing your happy place 😊

      Thank you so much Rhonda. I hope you get your happy place ideal sewing space soon, it really is a blessing to have a window, mainly the light making a huge difference. My eyes dont hurt so much. i used to sew at the kitchen table many moons ago, it was too dark in there for my eyes and I would end up with a headache at times. Happy sewing

    Thanks for the tour, Deb. It's so lovely to spend time with a fellow Australian sewist! I would love to have a look at all your fabrics and patterns. I didn't think your sewing room was messy at all! The creative process means having things around that make us happy, and fabric and patterns need to be around to remind us of the next or potential project!
    appy sewing!

    • @sewingseamswithdeb
      @sewingseamswithdeb  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Kerrie, thanks for your comment. No, the sewing room wasnt messy this time because I was between projects and had finished off and cleaned up afterwards - which made me think a good time to film the room. Not a good depiction I guess, cos it isnt usually this neat. I agree, to keep the creative process alive, having the things around helps

    Loved seeing your sewing room deb, hubby was cleaning out his garage when I decided to help him out to see what I could claim for my sewing room, he has now got a very clean garage and my sewing room has been pulled apart to accommodate for the extra sewing furniture and I have no energy left to do it😂😂😂

    • @sewingseamswithdeb
      @sewingseamswithdeb  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Helen, sounds like you might have scored some things for your sewing room that you can use. Good on you! Now you are too tired to do anything with it, but there is always tomorrow! happy sewing

    I spy with my little eye . . . a bowl cozy ready to be made! I also save all my bits of paper because facings, belt loops, etc. I love your Horn table - it's wonderfully big when it's expanded. I'd love to see your fabric and patterns!

      Yes Jen, you saw correctly, the bowl cozy was made up just after that filming. Isnt the Horn table great? Thanks for your comment - watch this space, fabrics and patterns coming soon.

    Yes please Deb. Would love to see in your cupboards. I too sew in an ex bedroom, which I am so grateful for instead of having to pack up the dining room table...lol. You have given me another idea to use the other bedroom as a cutting room, instead of dragging my table into the dining room. I too like to clean up after every project, that way my mind is uncluttered. I also clean my machines after every project too. Happy sewing and keep smiling 😁😁😁

      HI Susan, sounds like you have many of the same practices that I do when you sew. Good luck with setting up the cutting table. It is a game changer. you wont regret it. Keep well and enjoy your sewing

    Hi there! My sewing area spreads through parts of 2 bedrooms in my house, too. I have my machines and cutting table in one room and then my ironing station is in another room across the hall. Maybe one of these days in the future everything might end up being in the same room...we shall see...

    • @sewingseamswithdeb
      @sewingseamswithdeb  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Deb, Sounds like you might be similar to me, what I have noticed that the more space I have the more space I use. I am now in that lucky position of not having many restrictions so I can spread out. Gone are the times when I had to setup and pull down it all every time I wanted to sew, and it was for the family then too so always alot of sewing to do. I promised myself then, that I would one day have my own sewing space, and here I am! Enjoy your day

    • @DebsWay
      @DebsWay ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably so. I can remember times when I had to put my sewing machine on the kitchen table when I wanted to sew and then when I finished my project, the machine was packed away until the next time. Nowadays, I just close the door to the sewing areas when things get too messy in between clean-ups.

    Thought I was in my sewing for a moment. I have the same horn sewing cabinet with the green cutting mat like you have it and the same horn cutting table which I’ve had for 30 years..they’re about $1000 now (mine was $369). Just added an overhang door mirror to my sewing room today (from Bunnings). One thing I noticed that I haven’t seen in our Aussie sewing stores; where did you get the large Olfa mats?

    • @sewingseamswithdeb
      @sewingseamswithdeb  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, funny how we mostly gravitate to the same type of sewing space setup. The Olfa Mats were purchased from a small sewing store that specialise in quilting. they are called Kraft Dayz here in Perth. They were more expensive than the other brands and I had to order the larger size, she never had that one in stock. I hope you get some luck with finding them.

      @@sewingseamswithdebthanks! I will have to look further than Spotlight here in Wollongong.. closest quilting stores are about an hour away😅
