Thanks for the sewing room tour. Fabric, yarn and pattern addict too.
I would be interested in seeing you use the cover stitch machine and how to use it.
Your room is perfect as it’s all got meaning and very functional. Loved the ironing board hack. You could show us that closer too.
I could definitely show you what I know with the coverstitch machine. I'm very much still learning. I've never had a lesson. I'm just working it out as I go. Maybe I could work it into a future video. 🤔 What do you think? I'd be happy to show you my ironing board too. Thank you. I really appreciate your questions. You are giving me loads of ideas. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my video and have a chat too.❤❤
I loved the tour of your sewing room and particularly your potted plants...I'm a plant addict. As with most of us our plans are huge but there aren't enough hours in a day. I have to say you look much younger than your years. A most enjoyable video...THANK YOU! x
Thank you so much for your kind comments😊. Oh how I wish I could sew faster. I just an much quicker at purchasing fabric and patterns 😁😊
Hi, firstly thank you for popping over on my mums words to my channel. I admire your green fingers… man your plants are a plenty. Your fabric and pattern stash is a plenty…. You could hold yourself up for weeks and sew every day and still have left overs! There is a piece in your ‘dunno if you like’ pile that is lovely from where I saw it. Love that blue flower fabric in your recent pile under your table - can’t wait to see what you make with it!! StaceyJ
Thank you Stacey. I love finding new TH-camrs, especially from my neck of the woods. The more the merrier. I'm so happy to find you. I think your channel is going to be awesome. Thank you so much for popping over to my channel❤❤
Your sewing room “sacred space” looks so inviting with your pretties and plants❤. I’m jealous, I have a sewing cupboard😂 and guilty of taking over our dining table for days at a time.
Thank you Rebecca. I am very lucky. I used to used the dinning table before our reno. It's quite annoying to have to pack up halfway through a project. I hope you can have your own space some day.❤❤
Oh my gosh Katrina, your stash!
I feel so much better about mine now 😂
I haven’t been collecting as long as you though, I’m a fairly new sewist 😊
Thanks for the tour 😊
I'm so glad you feel better about your stash 😄😄. Yeh it's outta control. Thank you for being so kind about it.❤❤
Love your indoor plants! They really add a great style to the room. A lovely creator's room!
Have we already seen the Anthea Blouse? If not, can't wait to see it!
I always buy my machines from my local supplier as you do. Better quality and after sale service. My latest purchase is a Janome HD9 which is a semi industrial straight stitch machine. I love love love it!
Good idea to store your patterns on a bookcase!❤
Hi Alison. Thanks so much for dropping by. Yes I have shown my anthea blouse. I think it's in my latest makes video. I still haven't sewn the buttons on. I hope you have a lovely weekend and get lots of sewing time.❤❤
Wonderful sewing room tour Katrina, it’s amazing how much stuff we collect over the years, you have heaps of fabric in your stash, cannot wait to see some of it made up. Have a great sewing week, Deb 🪡🧵💕 loving all your plants 👍
Your space is lovely. The stash is pretty good. It’s hefty but I call buying and stashing fabric a 2nd hobby. I’m a beginner and well on my way to catching up with you. It’s an addiction.
@@pjacksreads536 Thank you so much. It's definitely a separate hobby.😊 Thank you for stopping to chat❤❤
Thank you for the tour of your pretty sewing room! I love how you framed the vintage dress pattern envelopes. And the pegboard your husband made is so much prettier than the Ikea versions. I like the touches of warmth the wood furniture brings to your sewing room.
Thank you. I think I originally chose my peg board because it wasn't plastic. I do like natural materials. I had forgotten about that until you mentioned it. Thank you so much for reminding me. Thanks for watching❤❤
Hi Katrina!😊😊
Your Get Away room is very nice!😅
I like how you stored your pdf patterns and your beautiful fabric. 😅 Have a blessed day!
Hi Katrina, thanks for being brave and showing your special space. You have it looking so inviting, comfortable and warm with all those lovely plants. I love how you have your stash set up in the cupboard, where you can close the doors and keep it neat. You have some awesome patterns and many of your sewing books , I also have. It was fun! Hopefully you get more time for sewing soon ❤
PS.. I used to have an ELNA overlocker which I ended up trading in because I used to spend so much time getting the tension right, it gave me a world of trouble. I would be tearing my hair out. I now have a simple Juki overlocker which is an absolute dream when I compare it to the first one. I love using it, it has a great instruction book and it's easy!
Thanks for letting me know about your overlocker! I love my Juki cover stitch, maybe I need to put in an order for Xmas for a juki overlocker.😊❤
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I definitely need to do lots more sewing. My stash is a direct result of needing a full time house keeper and baby sitter😉😄. I hope you have a great weekend and get lots of making time ❤❤
ooh, have really enjoyed a nosey around your lovely sewing room! You have a fabulous fabric stash and some great plans. I wish I could say I feel better about mine having seen the size of yours, but especially after a few visits to the rag market, I certainly have one to more than rival yours! 🤫😂 I also have too many fabrics I'm scared to use, that has to change this year.
😆😆Thank you for making me feel better 😆😆. You sound a lot like me. I'd be in so much trouble if I had those markets near me. Probably a good thing I don't. I'm the same with good fabric. I'm so scared I'm going to mess up. Thanks so much for visiting my neck of the woods ❤❤❤🥰
congratulations Katrina your nearly at 1000 subscribers!
Thank you so much. Yes it's quite exciting, and a little scary. I am quite a shy person. It's quite a bit to take in. I am trying hard not to count my chickens before they've all hatched😄😄.
Loved seeing your sewing space and I’ll keep watching for beginners tips 😊
Thanks for the tour. Omg so much fabric I hope you can get through some of it soon. I cant do the fabric stash I only buy what I’m going to use otherwise I end up getting rid of it . We are all different I guess. Love your videos.
Oh Moira. I wish I had bought fabric like you did. It is outta control. Thank you so much for being here. I really appreciate your support.❤❤
Nice cozy sewing sanctuary! I love how you organized it and I love the plants. 🥰🥰
Love the way you have used the space in your sewing room . I showed my husband the way you hang your patterns which is something I desperately want to do as well. Where did you you get the hanging clips and those long black hooks from? I have recently changed rooms as we are planning to do a Reno to give our son more space and he’s taking over the large room I was using. Trying to basically down size and accommodate two hobbies (I’ve been a knitter for years and only started sewing during the many long lockdowns here in Melbourne) means that my new she cave is definitely a work in progress! Oh and I think your stash is pretty impressive!
The hanging clips I think you are referring to are metal clothes pegs from Woolworths, and the long black hooks are plant hooks from Bunnings. Thank you so much for your lovely comment.❤❤
Hi Katrina. Your stash is like mine. I got rid of quite a bit. And your patterns collection is like mine. I really like to thin out the big four ones! And your room is very small.. so well done!. I have found a place that does colour AO printing that is reasonable. Plan Make Do.
Thank you. I would love one of those big rooms but I think I'm lucky to have a room to myself. We did a lot of the building our selves, so my wardrobe is how I wanted it for a sewing room. I don't think I have too much stuff just not enough sewing time 🤣🤣 . Thanks for telling me about Plan make do. Occasionally I get sick of taping but I don't mind printing off in A4. That way I can easily reprint a section to make adjustments. Thank so much for chatting.❤❤
Thankyou for the tour of your room, the fabric stash is almost as much as mine 😅 but I have nearly 30 yrs ahead of you, 😂and its not getting smaller, just bought some more today 😮. A few months ago I got rid of all my patterns that were to small for me, gave them to my daughter to go through, made room for more.😊 I enjoy yr vlogs , my daughter has just done her first Friday sews Stacey J studio, yes I am bragging take care regards Diana from NZ 🎉
Oh I feel a little better about my stash😊. I think the fabric is not the issue. It's just a lack of storage 😄😄. Oh yay! Another TH-camr! I will definitely check her out. Thanks so much for being so kind. I hope you have a lovely weekend ❤ 💗
Is that a studio serene cat under your tv? I love her patterns for animals super cute! Great sewing space!
Yes it is. Aren't they so cute and addictive. Thank you so much for watching ❤.
@@create_something_pretty they are and I bought a ton of them when they did the $5 off sale, I really want to try my hand at they cute new snowman she just dropped! Glad to find another person who enjoys them too! ❤️
Love, love, love your sewing space 💗. And we all need a second hobby and fabric collecting works beautifully with sewing.
And 47??? did you say that correct? I would have said 37 🌺. You definitely can’t be 47!!! 😘
Looking forward to the next video.
Thank you so much. Some days I feel like I'm 50, but then I remember, that's not far off😄😄. Yeh definitely 47 years wise😊. Thanks so much for watching ❤ ❤
Thanks for the tour. I have a stash that was getting out of control so I piled it in the lounge and sorted and catalogued it into a folder. Stash hub just won’t work for me I like to feel the fabric. It’s changed my life and I’m sewing those precious pieces as I want to buy some more but I have challenged myself to sew from the stash. So sew those pieces then you can buy some more😂
Oh I like this idea. I might give that ago. Thank you so much for sharing with me. ❤❤
I happened to notice your small, wood chest. I have a wood file cabinet hidden in a closet in my sewing room. I think I should pull it out of the closet and display it somewhere in my room. I think yours looks good where you have it.
As soon as I read worlds longest lockdown I thought “she’s in Melbourne”.
😄😄Yes that's correct. Worse time ever. A very mentally changing time.
@@create_something_pretty I still can barely believe it all happened. I’m in the Yarra Valley and it was all so sad.
I was lucky. My partner works in an essential service but I had to home school the kids. That was the biggest nightmare. My kids are quite bright and I've had to push the teachers to give them harder work. But they both have bad anxiety. Worse time ever. So stressful.
@@create_something_pretty I have 11 children and have always homeschooled and my husband is also an essential worker but it really was a very challenging time. I enjoy your videos by the way 💗
@@inspiringsimple Thank you. Omg I could not imagine home-schooling so many kids. You must be a super Mum. So glad it's over. Thanks so much for chatting ❤ 😊
Love all the plants. Your sewing space looks really great. Thank you for sharing.
