I think it's great that you do review the lower trim levels of cars. When we shop for new cars we always start at a base model and move our way up the trim levels until we buy one optioned out with what we will be happy with. Sometimes get buy a step below a "Limited" because lower trim levels offer so much these days for standard features.

All sold out when I went looking .. ended up in the gas model; up here 65 vs 45 mpg CITY. The highest value is the hybrid if you can get your hands on one - it also helps the resale a ton; taxis and couriers will be after it in 4 or 5 years. Salesperson said it well, not so much for residual but ease in a line of people after it pronto.

The catfish grill is growing on me too. I'm still not sold yet on the rear of the car. It's kinda too funky for my liking although it has a sorta 1950s vibe to it. Biggest zonk for me on this car is the interior though. It's too dark and too hard plasticky. Then there's the huge bezels around the infotainment screen. The interior looks like something for a rental car.

Smaller wheels and higher sidewalls mean a more cofortable ride. The "hard" Rubbermaid like plastics are easier and less fussy to clean. Cloth seats are more comfortable and usually extremely durable and less fussy to clean and care for than leather or even leatherette. All of those "knocks "are selling points for me. But they shoud have a fold down armrest in the back as well as some connectivity there.

J ~ my car came with a broken broom handle I have to use to keep the hood up, it doesn't even have seats, I sit on a milk crate instead & it slides all over the place, but one good thing about not having seats in the car is the trunk is huge. another thing, it didn't come with windshield wipers, it runs on Premium only & gets around 5 miles per gallon around town. I still don't know if it has a transmission or not because it never gets out of first gear, but I have cheap car insurance - silver lining around every tornado. butt really - wonderfully awesome report per usual - tony

0-60 in 7.5 is definitely not slow. Especially, for a small MPG focused hybrid. The "Blue" is also the Hyundai way of saying that it's the lowest trim of the hybrid. You can get all the great stuff with it but you'll have to pay for it.

Just bought this car about a week and a half ago and I would absolutely love it if it didn't have these issues. 1) It doesn't have it's own navigation system built into the car, unless i'm just missing something. 2) There reason why #1 is so important is because the wireless carplay just stops working at random ALL THE TIME. I could be following navigation projected from my phone and the screen just goes black. The people at Hyundai don't know why and they just blame Apple but I'm sure it's the car system bc when I look up the problem, there are several people complaining about this issue, in the Kias as well. All of the Hyundai cars that now have wireless carplay seem to have this issue. I believe that since they put wireless apple carplay in the car, they don't have it to where you can plug in your phone so that the carplay can work through a wired connection. It is there to read data but it doesn't seem like it's for the carplay feature because it never works when my phone is plugged in. I hope they fix this issue soon because I do rideshare work and I need my navigation all the time for work. It is very dangerous to have to disconnect my phone from the wireless carplay in the middle of driving and then hold my phone to follow the GPS.

@@bratyangel11 reason why I asked is because older phones have that issue. Where car play might get effected. As your phone is literally doing all the work and might be to much especially if it’s projecting it to your car wirelessly. I own a 13 Pro and have had once an issue connecting. Idk just a different perspective lol

I agree the interior is somewhat of a letdown, but I'm impressed with the vehicle overall. Price and fuel milage is unreal. When you started talking about that booger fight in the back seat, I just about fell off my chair laughing.

3:54 actually for a economy/fuel saving focused car, a smaller wheel is the way to go. It's cheaper, more sidewall protection, better fuel economy, better ride quality, lighter, and the list goes on, I wish more cars comes with smaller wheels. Not everyone is ricer. At least they are black, which in a distance, you won't notice that much if it's a 16 or 18.

Well can't say much about Elantra Hybrid or Corolla Hybrid but think both are great cars. Hyundai is reliable as Toyota but their vehicles look bit more upscale as the interiors than Toyota. Still Hyundai is a great product love the products as Toyota really not into hybrids just vehicles for reliability and features on a good value to own for a long time or ready buy another car.
