You don’t have to cut the priming handles off. there’s a slot above the handles where you can stick a flathead screwdriver in, push it towards you, and the priming handle should pop out

One thing I did while I had the case open to fix the cylinder revolving and replace the spring is weight it down. Just secure various heavy objects, fishing sinkers, broken tools, scrap metal, heavy filling resins, rubber, whatever in the empty parts of the case, makes a world of difference to the feel. Just make sure nothing rattles around loose and you're good.
