    One day as I was finishing a particularly long COD zombies game with some of my buddies.. my four year old son came up to me and said hey dad can we play zombies? I said sorry buddy it’s too scary and violent. He said no dad. I mean outside. Together. I smiled and said sure buddy, what gun do I get? He handed me a fish shaped super soaker pistol. Then he racked the Walmart rifle I had gotten him for Christmas, you know the one. It looks like a repeater and makes noise... and my dad brain was looking at this boring fish gun thinking man there has to be a better way...That was five years ago. And I have built and modified 10 nerf blasters since then. And I always come here first and every week to check the news and see how the king does it. Thank you Drac for everything you do for the “sport” you have helped me so much over the years. Keep up the good work.

    I think that this, in conjunction with the MTB video is a great way on how to make a solid stryfe build. Some things like the ability to use the stock flywheel cage and a 3s battery is nice in the MTB video, but you also have a better soldering technique and demonstrate newer techniques that have developed in our hobby, like the switch plate and aftermarket cages. Good job, nice work, keep it up!

      Here is what I have told a few other asking in the comments hope it helps, so a tier 0 is a Stryfe using the best of the parts money can buy, it can cost $250-$300, it also has things like lights, kits, hyrdodip. Tier 1 has some 3dprinted stuff (Cage, switch holder, levers, etc) it has the more moderate priced stuff, will cost about $100-$200. Tier 3 is usually a motor and wire swap using trustfire batteries, will cost about $20. This is justa quick walkthrough of the most important stuff, all this can vary from person to person.

    I AM SO THANKFUL FOR THIS!!! I have been modding and painting springers for a long time, creating such legends (that I know you’ve never heard of) as Son of Kish, Redeemer of Jerusalem, and more! I’ve been wanting to get into modding flywheel blasters for a year and a half, and have been doing research for just as long, but I had trouble finding the materials I’d need to follow the MTB guide, even though the instructions for the actual mod for super simple. Now that this is available, working with fluwheel blasters is far less daunting for the homework ridden sixteen year old and I hope to build a few sleeper stryfes until I’m good enough to make a personal Tier1 stryfe that follows my typical aesthetic and is worthy of a name derived from Scripture!

    #TiersCauseTears
    Anyways, (extensive Nyx Cage self advertising aside) it was definitely a lot better than your usual guides.
    There were a fair amount of things you missed.
    Correctly choosing a suitable battery for your motors, is _very_ important. I can’t believe you skipped this.
    I would recommend watching foamblasts battery guide (not you Drac) to learn how to do that.
    You didn’t talk about basic lipo safety _at all_ which is something everyone should learn before they even touch a lipo.
    Captain Xavier has a great video on that.
    You also didn’t talk about 3s motors, which I feel you should have.
    You didn’t mention lipo alarms or volt meters either, which I would say are fairly nessisary for safety. (Well, the Alarms are, voltmeters not as much)
    You also didn’t mention how to solder in a different connector (deans to Xt60) for example) (which can be dangerous if not done correctly)
    You didn’t mention what charger to use either, which is another common question people ask who have never used a lipo before.
    The accucell S60 (sold on hobby king and by out of darts) has all the nessisary features while not being terribly expensive.
    That’s all I can think of for now.

    • @christopherleow7012
      @christopherleow7012 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also, Loctite usually recommended for the motor screws.
      And usually advised to test with a lower power pack such as 4 X AA batteries before running off a lipo

      @@LightningEagle14 It's actually interesting how few(practically zero) videos by any in the world of modding Nerf or even airsoft go into lipo safety. • @RoryStarr
    @RoryStarr 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think the only thing I would seriously recommend that wasn't here is either a voltmeter or a low-voltage alarm. Drac does cover this in his other stryfe build videos. You will regret not doing this. Lipos cannot go below a certain voltage without destroying themselves and becoming dangerous to recharge.
    This is a mod video, not a lipo video, so I would also add it is critical you do a ton of research on Lipo safety. Pair this with a Lipo video. And maybe consider using a Mosfet instead of a high amp switch. It offers some advantages.
    You might also consider adding dean connectors or xt-60s between the motors and the rest of the wiring harness. If you combine that practice with a mosfet, it becomes a non-issue to change motors or add an afterburner. It helps with the idea that your modded blaster is always a work in progress you will continue to fiddle with. People like drac have the resources to just keep making new ones, but you will probably be upgrading your baby for years.

    Delrin IS acetal. POM (polyoxymethylene) is a plastic made by many companies using slightly different formulas but they all do the same thing. It works well. Delrin is acetal and the chemical name for acetal is polyoxymethylene. The only thing is though, it's designed to be a low friction material. Once you have a layer of foam on the wheels this isn't an issue, but I think the community should look into different plastics to see if there is a better option.

    Great Stryfe guide Drac! I did see you were stabilising your product shots there (Nyx cage etc) If you wanna do some slow mo B-roll footage then invest in a lazy susan with a simple egg timer mod for turning it or purchase a small 4-wheel camera dolly. Produces the same effect without the use if stabilizing. Quite cheap too!

    If you don’t want to spend money on the new flywheels stuff antother great way to increase performance (not as much than if you use this tutorial) you can keep the stock fly wheel and remove the paddles of the fly wheel ( the pieces the dart has to push through to get into the fly wheel) also makes for almost no jams

    Just wondering, what are all of the stryfe mod tiers? I’ve heard them all mentioned in many of your videos, but I never knew the full meaning of each.

    • @sirbrick3517
      @sirbrick3517 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ok, so a tier 0 is a Stryfe using the best of the parts money can buy, it can cost $250-$300, it also has things like lights, kits, hyrdodip.

      I haven't been with this community for a long time. WHAT IN THE HELL
      In all reality, it's not that bad. A lot of websites have custom shells, and there are plenty of Chinese knockoff shells that are just as good, if you are going to mod your blaster. They've been around for so long that we're completely self-reliant
