Great Review, precise and clear nicely done. Just done my CBT last week and placed an order from my local dealer for new LXR125 in Black/Gold colour wait time 3 weeks, can't wait.
I put mine in for order today! I've got my CBT this Friday so hopefully I'll be able to get the bike on the weekend to get used to it a little bit. How are you finding the bike so far then?
@Darren Pumford sorry just seen your message.. I sold my LXR 125 since passing my full license. I now own Honda CBR650F.. My 1st bike was LXR, and it was a great bike in 125 category. It feels and looks like you are riding a big bike. I bought brand new and had it for 1 year and sold it, no issues at all. I would definitely recommend it for the price you are paying. You get a lot out of it. If you are thinking of getting a used bike, then look for low mileage and service history, and you can get good deals in 2nd hand bikes. For 1st bike, it's great and no regrets at all. Yamaha and Honda, and Kawasaki do have a 125cc range, but you are paying more price, and you may want to move up soon, and you lose a lot in depreciation.. if you want to keep the bike for long, then go for Yam, Hon or Kawa... Anyway, all the best, and I hope you find a good bike. Stay safe and ride safe! Pal
I’ll say one thing. I really like the design. I’m sure it’s actually way slower than it’s Japanese counterparts. But it looks just as good. The warranty is a huge plus.
It all depends on budgets etc. The Japanese variants will be a lot more money (near £2k extra) but will have a few upgrades, including engines around 14.6 hp. The LXR isn't slow but there is just over a 2hp difference generally between these and Japanese.
And this Chinese bike weighs loads, has a silly 150 rear tyre (more rotational mass) and has 5 gears. It's made to look like the cbr 650. For young lads that wanna look like they're on a big bike. Buy a 2 stroke and smoke the lot of them 🤣👌

Went to my local lexmoto dealer yesturday and instantly fell in love with the looks of this bike..just wish they would do something about the lack of power..also looks on par with the hyosung gt

Biggest thing I have to say about Chinese bikes is: Even though the manufacturers like Lexmoto are putting in a lot of effort and quality control, it is still up to the user to make sure they maintain it properly. You still have to put a bit more effort in to a Chinese bike than, well an "big name brand" bike (also made in China). These LXR's are a big pain becuse they feel and look so good, the owners tend to forget that they have to be a bit more thorough with maintaining it, making sure the chain is clean, oiled, well tightened. other things like making sure the brakes are adjusted properly etc. If you can put that bit more effort in, then the newer Chinese bikes will do well.
That's a fair enough comment, but I suppose any maintenance on any motorcycle boils down to the responsibility of the owner, doesn't it? I appreciate the point you are making, but things like a clean chain and properly adjusted brakes are things that should be check regularly by any biker on any bike for their own safety and the safety of other road users? Thanks for your comment though, and I agree Chinese bikes will do well in the UK motorcycle market!

I've not heard much about lexmoto and I worry about the build quality or accessing parts and finding places that can repair. I had a Cagiva and when it had an issue, no one would touch it. Any idea what the parts and repairs network is like? Thanks
Lexmoto have a large dealer network and there are a couple of companies specialising in chinese parts in the UK, one owned by Llexeter who owns Lexmoto. I would look at LXR Owner onions on group etc as well

Very true - I'd love it to have 14hp, but it's only really noticeable at the top end. Still has plenty of torque and pull off the line! Not bad for the price, and whilst a bit more bhp would be better - you also save £2k versus a Japanese sports bike! ~ Alex

I'd like to see a long term review for these. Like 1 and 2 years. Are they still running fine then? Have they started looking and feeling a bit worn and knackered? That kind of thing
the front brake lever only activates 1 front disc...the rear brake pedal activates the rear and the opposite disc at the front...yo need to mod it to make front brake lever activate both front discs
great review but its not 2499 OTR .every dealer ive contacted have said its 2499 plus over another 100 to 150 DVLA fees????? i thought OTR covers all that

I just leaned this is a Chinese bike, sold in Europe with different names depending on the country. Taro GP1 125cc = China Lexmoto LXR SE 125cc = UK TR Motor GP1 125cc = DE, NL, BE Wottan GP1 125cc = IT, SP Mitt GP1 125cc = Portugal
Check them out in person to see what you prefer. the Aprilia will be more expensive, but better build quality and resell value. LXR SE will be the more budget friendly option.

Aluminium swingarm, upside-down forks and aluminium yokes along with the red colourway. These things aren't vital and you still get the same liquid-cooled motor. Just down to personal preference and budgets.

Right going to eat humble pie here. My friend got one last September did have a few problems with it. He has serviced it regularly and looked after it really well. He was not happy with local dealership their we're crap when it came to warranty work. It has done 13000 miles . So to be fair not a bad first bike. Lexmoto to be fair their not bad bikes. Ps I only ride Honda's.
I'd recommend looking at owners groups to get real-world figures. probably around 80-95 miles per gallon. The tank is 13.5 litres, so I'd say probably 235+ miles for an entire tank.
all good and well, until your mate comes flying past you on a 2005 cbr125 doing about 80. i had a pulse adrenaline, and so far it's been my favorite bike and gave me much faith in chinese bikes. it's only the lack of and struggle at top speed that puts me off. my adrenaline would do a solid 75 with no mods
LoneRider27 my mate has an MT125 but my Lexmoto can keep up with him 😂 and out runs my mates YBR but my mate with the MT has a Black Widow exhaust which gives him a power boost

If only this gid looking bike was lighter, doesn’t compete with other 125’s but 4stroke 125’s are tuned hair dryers my old 1986 Suzuki RG125 Gamma would of left this for dust had 25hp and its weight was 96 kilos
Hi great looking bike, it's a 4 stroke yeah so I had cagiva mito 125 two stroke only problem is with the mito is that you couldn't ride a long distance so you had to stop for a while, is that not the issue with the Lexmoto. Regards Ian Robinson
I'm 18 and I plan on getting it this year within the next 3 months. I've been riding a cg125 when I'm on holidays in Pakistan for the last 2 years and it's like riding a bicycle, the lexmoto is gonna be 67kg heavier though but should be more than manageable. Most of it depends on your height, if your over 5'7 youll be fine

Well, obviously we can't really praise the LXR SE enough, in the time we had it we absolutely loved it (all the team did, even those who couldn't ride it) so obviously we would recommend you look into one of these. Unfortunately we haven't ever tested the Hyosung GTR 125 we can't speak too much as to what we think of it! It may be worth going for a test ride on both, if possible, to see what you think of them!

I recently bought the standard LXR in Blue and gun metal and absolutely love the damn thing. Its just a joy to ride in any situation !

I was going to say that twin discs are overkill for a 125, but I guess that is an effective enough way to cheaply include combined braking.

I'm about to turn 17, Last year I did my cbt on a 50cc moped. Can I legally ride this lxr when I turn 17?
If you have a valid CBT, you can then go onto a 125cc at 17.

Right going to eat humble pie here. My friend got one last September did have a few problems with it. He has serviced it regularly and looked after it really well. He was not happy with local dealership their we're crap when it came to warranty work. It has done 13000 miles . So to be fair not a bad first bike. Lexmoto to be fair their not bad bikes. Ps I only ride Honda's.

I'd recommend looking at owners groups to get real-world figures.
probably around 80-95 miles per gallon. The tank is 13.5 litres, so I'd say probably 235+ miles for an entire tank.

all good and well, until your mate comes flying past you on a 2005 cbr125 doing about 80. i had a pulse adrenaline, and so far it's been my favorite bike and gave me much faith in chinese bikes. it's only the lack of and struggle at top speed that puts me off. my adrenaline would do a solid 75 with no mods
LoneRider27 my mate has an MT125 but my Lexmoto can keep up with him 😂 and out runs my mates YBR but my mate with the MT has a Black Widow exhaust which gives him a power boost

If only this gid looking bike was lighter, doesn’t compete with other 125’s but 4stroke 125’s are tuned hair dryers my old 1986 Suzuki RG125 Gamma would of left this for dust had 25hp and its weight was 96 kilos

Hi great looking bike, it's a 4 stroke yeah so I had cagiva mito 125 two stroke only problem is with the mito is that you couldn't ride a long distance so you had to stop for a while, is that not the issue with the Lexmoto.

I'm 18 and I plan on getting it this year within the next 3 months. I've been riding a cg125 when I'm on holidays in Pakistan for the last 2 years and it's like riding a bicycle, the lexmoto is gonna be 67kg heavier though but should be more than manageable. Most of it depends on your height, if your over 5'7 youll be fine
Well after more research I know I can now get a A2 licence straight away so I'm looking at a honda cbr 500 xD

Fantastic review, I am a 48 year old looking for a nice big frame 125 what would you recommend ? I like the look of the lexmoto lxr but I also like the look of the Hyosung GTR 125 , which would be the better bike in your opinion ? Best wishes and keep up the great reviews.
Hi Karl, thanks for the kind words mate! Well, obviously we can't really praise the LXR SE enough, in the time we had it we absolutely loved it (all the team did, even those who couldn't ride it) so obviously we would recommend you look into one of these. Unfortunately we haven't ever tested the Hyosung GTR 125 we can't speak too much as to what we think of it! It may be worth going for a test ride on both, if possible, to see what you think of them!

I’ve seen some of these less than 2 years olds with brittle plastics and anything made from rubber is perished and cracked, you get what you pay for,
