When it comes to sound, it doesn’t sound bad even at high revs. It’s a 125 after all, they all do sound similar. Top speed you’ll be lucky to get 85mph from bigger brands. This looks good and I love that it has a 150 on the back, I had a 100 on my CBF125 back in the day. Lexmoto have changed my perspective on Chinese bikes, i may buy one of these for my C’London run a round secondhand soon, hopefully it will be a small bargain by the time. Good review.
The zhongshan engines the same as the ones used in UM motorcycles and this bike, is way more rattly at the high end of the revs way more than the other engines Lexmoto use. It's not a problem in reality. But unfortunately many at the CBT age don't judge bikes buy anything more than top speed, looks and sound. I've ordered one of these, pretty much based on this review and your 'first ride' video of the LXR. This is just about the only serious and unbiased review of the LXR on TH-cam atm. I love the look of the bike and I don't mind the extra weight as I don't need outright speed, but I am soooo looking forward to actually riding a 125 that looks like a normal sportsbike! Listening to you thrash the nuts off it for 20 minutes has tired me out, so god knows what it's like to ride. Can't argue with the value or looks though!! Another great review Spicy.
My workmate bought a Lexmoto 125 Titan scooter for just £1500 in June 2017 brand new and he's had 100% reliability as of Feb 2019 - only snag, it'll barely top 50mph so looks like your extra £700 was money well spent. Thanks for the vid and good happy riding!
Thank you so much for this video, I'm currently looking to by my first motorbike and I've had my eyes on this model for a moment now. Seieng your video really helps making a choice, I like how clear and understandable you are, taking time to develop like you did was amazing. Also nice riding :)
I was seriously considering trading in my Adrenaline for this when I pay the finance off in the next 6 months or so. But I'm similar height/weight to spicy and its top end is about the same as my Adrenaline. I think I'll likely go for either the Rieju RS3 or the Hyosung GTR 125 from what I've heard they both reach around 80-85mph :-)
James Brand don’t get a Hyosung or Rs3 The Hyosung weighs as much as a small car and is also underpowered even tho it has the 11kw engine, but then killed it with being far to heavy and the rs3 is the better out the two but if I were you and I was one month ago looking to get back into riding after 12 years out coming from the 2 stroke days (Cagiva Mito) was my last bike owned and after Looking into all the bikes available now and specs and money I went with the Aprilia Rs4. Powerfull fuel injected engine that can do 70mph no worries even when it came out in 2011 it has 11kw -15bhp old money, nice size for a 125 has a wider bigger bike feel than others and cost, second hand low miles well looked after ones can be had for less than 2k The lxr is good but there not there yet but will be one day.
honestly like these chinese bikes are getting better and better. i bought a lexmoto arrow as my first bike at 17 and its so easy to work on. has the same engien as the cg125 and its so reliable. parts are so cheap and i have palstidipped everything and it looks amazing. i got my bike for 250 quid and i have spent 100 on getting it all modded and it looks and sounds amazing
Jismy :D how did you get a bike for just £250 I’m looking at 125s that are from 1-4K could really use a much cheaper one because I’m still a student and well, I’m skint 😂
Loving the video of the lxr125, nice sized bike for a 125cc, but the trouble is with the size comes the weight as well, but they are nice looking. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your videos. 😁👍
I will add as this is an older video, there are some known issue with this bikes by now. It's to do with a water drain hole on the side of the engine being in the wrong place. In short if you keep it outside get a cover.
Hey Spicy. Im just getting into the world of motorbikes. Getting on in years I decided to finally go for my CBT. I've been looking at the LXR SE and stumbled across your review. After doing a little digging, there seems to be a lot of mixed views on this bike, from. "Don't touch it." to "It's a lovely machine for a first timer.' I'm looking to purchase this years(2024) model, and was wondeing what your current views are on it. Do they fall to bits like a handful of people claim, or is this just down to Japanese fanboys and simple neglect of regular maintenance? I'd love to hear your views on the newer models over the old as it seems Lexmoto seemed to have refined their quality and ironed out a lot of the issues that plagued the first few lines. Thanks and keep up the awesome videos, they have taught me a lot. 🤘
I have heard of quite a few problems with this that develop over time. Personally, I would not buy one, not to mention the price is a bit high these days.
@spicy110 Thanks for your reply. This was a reply I was kind of not wanting to hear as I absolutely fell in love with the look of the particular model with the half red wheel trim. I have been looking at other 125's. Namely the Yamaha yzf-r and the Honda cbr125r. I'm just worried about buying secondhand. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
It's really tricky for sure, keeping the warranty up on the lexmoto is a cost you have to consider as you must follow the servise schedule. Secondhand can be a nightmare with 125cc bikes, so it maybe worth finding a good rateded dealer that offers warranty on used bikes, you pay a bit more but you have back up. Sorry not to be able to give you a golden nugget of info it's just a risk you need to look in to and pick a way.
@spicy110 I guess it's just like anything second-hand it can be a bit of a minefield, exacerbated more so with 125's by the fact that first-time riders aren't necessarily going to be looking after them beit through lack of knowledge(hence the reason I believe they should make watching your videos before the cbt test compulsory 😂) or just wanting to thrash the hell out of them. I may just bite the bullet and save save save and just go brand new, but that in itself has inherent issues, much higher insurance premiums, if I drop the bike or ditch it, which is inevitable at some point in its life. If you had to choose a good first time 125, what would you recommend? Like I said, I was looking at the Honda or Yamaha, any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Maybe a video on this is would be nice. In depth buyers guide perhaps, depending on what you intend to use it for. I'm sure many other cbt riders are in a similar dilemma. Thanks again for your replies and time.
Great video there bud.Beautiful bike by the way, but was wondering what your view was on the tekken. I'm stuck between the lxr tekken and the adrenaline. Hope your back doesn't play you up too much. Keep up the great work there mate 👍

New favourite term: "Perfectly acceptable" 167 kg. So tail tidy first. Then remove that charcoalthing under your passengerseat. Fix the brake system, so front brake brakes both discs. Maybe remove those silver side parts, depending on the looks underneath it. If you have a little bit more money, a lithium battery. Now you got a bike below 160kg without too much work and costs. Good for any beginner. Love the windshield look btw ;)
Strange, my lexmoto lxr 125 hits 75mph all day long and it gets to speed quickly. I've done a 4 hour motorway journey at a constant 70mph with no issues at all.
Nice 125 it just needs a a better engine but it would do Me nicely to ride around town I have a old chinese cg125 look alike it broke but I fixed it easy the new chinese bikes are really good in like the new chinese motorbike good review
I just watched "ER6F VLOG" and he mentioned you in his video and I felt I needed a little more spicy in my life so here I am.(just kidding I never miss a video) Lex 125 kinda looks as big at my Honda 300R. You have a sexy looking bike dude. I want a key-shirt...lol
Hi mate enjoyed the review, would you recommend this as a good starter bike? I am 6 foot 1, 12 stone. I only have a budget of about £1500 and looking at sports bikes ideally. Will be binge watching your videos to help pass my test!
Such a shame for you - felt that pain before when my CB125R got stolen in 2018, luckily the idiot rode it around town so it was recovered in 24 hours. those 24 hours killed me though, and i also said that if my bike wasn't recovered I would give up
Bit of a let down tbh. It's by no means poor it's just when I saw it I was hoping lexmoto might have stepped it up again is all. I feel it's got pointless amounts of weight onto it. You said the frame is for another engine so it's already too big. Which means the tyres have to be bigger which is also more weight... Then you got that stupid extra disc which isn't light either. They should of given an engine with a bit more juice since the bike is heavy then it wouldn't matter if they pumped the price up slightly. There's the hawk for a cheaper sports bike option, this could of been there more expensive but more powerful option.
The reason they have the extra disk break is to conform to the new Euro 4 Law, any new motorbike needs to have either ABS as standard or "Combined" Breaking as Standard :)
I feel you missed an important detail out. What does it look like in Tescos? Joking aside top review nice looking bike for the cash and hopefully a few more bikers on the road. The back sounds better less grunting in this video hope its not much longer for the jabs
You can make the bike work for its money me i would say buy one of these for 2.200 use it for 2-3year s 0 buses cheap transport sale after 2-3year money saved
I would not buy a second hand 125 weather it be a yzf125 Honda 125 or lexmoto as most of you would have not budgeted for service costs serviced but the user no thanks all would have been therapied to death trying to get 70 mph out of them 55 to 60 is where you should ride with little in reserved if needed
Hi spicy im very interested in getting the lxr do u think it would be a good bike for nervous/new rider's also was wondering what the mpg is for it thanks
Hey Spicy110, What's the name of the exhaust that Lexmoto fitted for your review unit? And if you happen to answer, would you have a recommendation for the best performance exhaust for the LXR 125/380 to pick out? Currently trying to improve highway performance.
It is a lextek exhaust, lextek is a sister company to Lexmoto. However putting a exhaust on a 125cc is going to do nothing for highway speed. It would need to be re-mapped and I do not know of a way to re map the LXR ecu. Even then you might add a couple of HP if you get lucky. The better bet is to change the gearing for more top end but you will lose acceleration for it.
@Super Chad Spot on mate. The service company asked me to deliver it for a time that the place was shut and after that they told me the warranty was not valid due to more miles that It was meant to have. Now the bike is semi driving meaning it has days where it runs and days when it doesn't.
@@MrScateboy For a Lexmoto dealer ship yeah seams like it. The bike parts are cheap but that only means they break quick, The bike worked fine for about 4month with 1 self service done to it.

Its a shame Honda doesn't make the v twin Varadero anymore i love mine. They are still very popular bikes, Especially with taller riders and they will tour very well. And do high mileage as well as being very reliable, And the clutch is light enough to change with one finger and the gears are silky smooth, top speed around 75mph but its a big bike one of the biggest 125's looks more like a 600cc its hard for any 125 to meet all the positives of the Honda Varadero.

Spicy. Love your reviews. I have only one question. And it’s on all the lexmoto bikes, perhaps all Chinese bikes. The designs are nice but why is it that none has hp near the limit allowed? Why are they often 4-5 hp down on yam yzf, ktm, Aprilia or Suzuki or even some Hondas? Do you think, that they have not yet figured out how to squeeze more power out of their engines?
no - they just do not design their bikes for max speed - they care more about how long they last and how cheap they are to mass produce to service the huge japanese and chinese bikes. japanese 125cc bikes are more premium at the top end, but you will find bikes like Honda CB125R and Yamaha YS125 that have 13BHP and 10BHP respectively
Dont buy a chinese bike. How many times does it need to be said. It WILL break down, it has shoddy build quality, lexmotos have even had abs stickers on bikes without abs. They are dangerous

I'm getting a new bike soon (finally moving from scooter to geared) and its a chinese bike, from what i'v heard they can be great bikes as long as you maintain them well and am just wondering what sort of things to do. I'm already planning on getting something to cover the chrome parts and help stop rust over the winter.
I don't have a specific video on it but in short. Regular oil changes is advisable thankfully then don't take much oil so no expensive to do. Regular chain adjustments when needed. Protection from rust can be done with a spray called acf50, this most needed in winter. Let it warm a little before riding hard will help the engine. Keeping things lubed that should be like the chain and cables. Generally keeping it clean helps. It's the same for most bikes really. If anyone wants to add anything I have forgotten please give your input. 🙂

@@midenking9651 Where are you getting this info from as you have been mislead. Motorini, Mototech and Genata are all doing this model and nobody has the rights to it!
@@midenking9651 Well, your sources are incorrect. I was in China last week (Canton) and the model is very much available to anyone. The only rights you will get is exclusive sales rights in a country, but Genata don't have that as the factory that produce this model don't give exclusivity. The LXR was to take over from the Hawk and is doing a very good job. Hawk was a nice bike, but with other companies selling the model, the LXR was always going to win.
How do you find the Lexteck exhaust? I've been looking for an exhaust and I have been looking at Blackwidow but then also have seen Lexteck now and since you have used both I was wondering what your opinion would be?
Hey it so happens this one this is the same one I fitted to my DRZ video here th-cam.com/video/V40gNAh0YSg/w-d-xo.html as you can see its a old video now. The same exhaust it still on that bike looks good as new and no complaints at all! I have a black widow on my xj6 and again no complaints. So sorry if that doesn't help but either way they are both good.
I wouldn't imagine so, certainly not if fitting a lextech part. Rather than fitting it yourself, get it done at a Lexmoto dealer during your next service if you're concerned. It's likely my next step as mine is about to hit 4000 miles and have been doing much more long distance (100miles+) recently.
Lexmoto during the past decade have hugely improved the build quality of their bikes. And as long as you keep on top of regular maintenance, Their bikes should last just as long, if not longer, as other bikes in the same category and price range. Compared to motorcycles double the cost, of which their trying to emulate? You'll need to keep a closer eye, especially if stored outdoors. But they have made adjustments to individual parts in the past few years (2018-2020) to make it even easier. Highly recommend but only for long term if you service well and often.
This feels like a question because someone you know claimed their 125cc did 140mph? If that is the case that is very funny, In short no. When I was young you could get a RS 125cc 2 stroke that unrestricted would do 110mph ish. Even at that time you needed a full licence to ride it, so you might as well have a bigger bike. I don't even think 125cc GP bikes hit 140 now.
Wr 125 you can do 160mph. On 4*, I'm joking pal. Need advice seriously for a bike used, that style wr125 for first bike, did cbt today! Was fun to be fair

had mine for 2 weeks now and love i went from a retro scooter to this does everything I need it to an come on looks amazing if it was not for my L plates you would not know it's a 125. Great videos thanks
can you share some information about fuel consumption of this heavy 125 bike? thanks
Hey, can you tell me your review now?
Those headlights at the beginning look like Johnny 5 when he's pissed off :D
Hahaha what a film!

Just imagine the driver in front's reaction seeing those angry headlights on a dark and foggy night. DEAMON BIKE! LOL.
Listening to you thrash the nuts off it for 20 minutes has tired me out, so god knows what it's like to ride. Can't argue with the value or looks though!! Another great review Spicy.
After watching your review I have ordered an lxr125 and to be honest I can’t wait to ride it
Got it yet? Your thoughts on it?
My workmate bought a Lexmoto 125 Titan scooter for just £1500 in June 2017 brand new and he's had 100% reliability as of Feb 2019 - only snag, it'll barely top 50mph so looks like your extra £700 was money well spent. Thanks for the vid and good happy riding!
Thank you so much for this video, I'm currently looking to by my first motorbike and I've had my eyes on this model for a moment now. Seieng your video really helps making a choice, I like how clear and understandable you are, taking time to develop like you did was amazing. Also nice riding :)
Did you end up buying the bike and how was it ?
I was seriously considering trading in my Adrenaline for this when I pay the finance off in the next 6 months or so. But I'm similar height/weight to spicy and its top end is about the same as my Adrenaline. I think I'll likely go for either the Rieju RS3 or the Hyosung GTR 125 from what I've heard they both reach around 80-85mph :-)
James Brand don’t get a Hyosung or Rs3
The Hyosung weighs as much as a small car and is also underpowered even tho it has the 11kw engine, but then killed it with being far to heavy and the rs3 is the better out the two but if I were you and I was one month ago looking to get back into riding after 12 years out coming from the 2 stroke days (Cagiva Mito) was my last bike owned and after Looking into all the bikes available now and specs and money I went with the Aprilia Rs4. Powerfull fuel injected engine that can do 70mph no worries even when it came out in 2011 it has 11kw -15bhp old money, nice size for a 125 has a wider bigger bike feel than others and cost, second hand low miles well looked after ones can be had for less than 2k
The lxr is good but there not there yet but will be one day.
just had a trial today on a motorcycle and have now booked my CBT for the 3rd of August and this is currently the bike I'm looking into :)
17 in January but saving for this bike, the waits killing me
Is a trial free cause I want to see what it’s like to ride a bike but don’t want to pay loads
honestly like these chinese bikes are getting better and better. i bought a lexmoto arrow as my first bike at 17 and its so easy to work on. has the same engien as the cg125 and its so reliable. parts are so cheap and i have palstidipped everything and it looks amazing. i got my bike for 250 quid and i have spent 100 on getting it all modded and it looks and sounds amazing
Jismy :D how did you get a bike for just £250 I’m looking at 125s that are from 1-4K could really use a much cheaper one because I’m still a student and well, I’m skint 😂
never heard of a reliable chinese bike before
"its so reliable" lol that just decredited everything you said
Loving the video of the lxr125, nice sized bike for a 125cc, but the trouble is with the size comes the weight as well, but they are nice looking. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy your videos. 😁👍
Great video. Thanks mate. Feel a lot more clued up now when deciding what to get (probably an lxr)👍👍
Bit late to the party but I'm about to buy an lxr 125 bit banged up and get it going good. Brilliant review
I've been looking at getting this as my first bike and this was an incredibly useful video to help with my choice, cheers
Same, Did u get it?
Great video there bud.Beautiful bike by the way, but was wondering what your view was on the tekken. I'm stuck between the lxr tekken and the adrenaline. Hope your back doesn't play you up too much. Keep up the great work there mate 👍
Hello i Like your comment on Chinese bikes as I am buying bike for 50th birthday I am taking lessons at the moment the last time I got on bike was 35 years ago and my first lesson went well me and my family picked my bike yzf_r 125 4500 pounds I joined your channel and next I see is lexmoto 125 and what a bike for 2200 pounds I have cancelled yzf I spoke to lexmoto bealer today to place the order for the bike the bike will not be UK to September 9 there is back order and that suits me fine because am 50 on 10th October and this feed back is from garage post and thanks very much again for your comment and I have being looking at all your post on TH-cam all the best gary 👌👍
Collected exact same one today! Loved the ride out as well. Having the Lextec YP4 can fitted on Monday 🙂
Hey would you recommend for someone who is 5 foot 6 ? 20 Yr old ?
New favourite term: "Perfectly acceptable"
167 kg.
I'd go with that haha
To be fair for what it costs i'd be happy for it to start every morning in all weather , to and from work sorted
Have you bought ? When is raining, it's not a problem ?
Strange, my lexmoto lxr 125 hits 75mph all day long and it gets to speed quickly. I've done a 4 hour motorway journey at a constant 70mph with no issues at all.
I'm 6'4 and 15stone. 😃
When did it go to the scrapyard?
lovely looking little bike!
Nice 125 it just needs a a better engine but it would do Me nicely to ride around town I have a old chinese cg125 look alike it broke but I fixed it easy the new chinese bikes are really good in like the new chinese motorbike good review

Clean looking full stop the gsxr 125 is also a banging little 125
Beautiful looking bike but after having my MT 125 stolen and never recovered I don't think I'll ever get another
Such a shame for you - felt that pain before when my CB125R got stolen in 2018, luckily the idiot rode it around town so it was recovered in 24 hours. those 24 hours killed me though, and i also said that if my bike wasn't recovered I would give up
I just realised that this is hayling island aha
- Great review though, helped alot
Nice bike where is this place you riding around
Can it tow a caravan?
Nah, doesn't come with a tow bar mate. Could prob retrofit one though?
With ease
It is more powerful then the hawk...
@@midenking9651 Don't they get to the same top end speed at the same time?
Erm... the lexmoto hawk has disappeared off of their website or is that just me?
@@09mantlek It's no longer being sold by them I believe. I think Genata bought the rights to the model.

What engine oil do you use for it? And what tyre air pressure are you using?
Getting the Blue/Silver one tomorrow going to be driving on Scottish roads
Fox' 333 how is it mate?
Super Chad 😂😂
@Super Chad Spot on mate. The service company asked me to deliver it for a time that the place was shut and after that they told me the warranty was not valid due to more miles that It was meant to have. Now the bike is semi driving meaning it has days where it runs and days when it doesn't.
Fox' 333 that a common thing?
@@MrScateboy For a Lexmoto dealer ship yeah seams like it. The bike parts are cheap but that only means they break quick, The bike worked fine for about 4month with 1 self service done to it.

Now high haha but the bike goes back very soon and I get the comfort of divi again 🙂
Would this bike be suitable for someone who is 166cm tall? Around 5,5, or would I struggle to stand flat ? Thanks
Definitely mate :)
Can buy a zontes scorpion for only 1799 near me

I need some advice please. I am due to do my CBT next week and want a cheap bike to drive around to get experience . I do have a UK full driver licence and I am old enough to drive a 125cc.
Which bike or moped would you recommend?
Hopefully going to get a naked lexmoto soon! They seem so reliable and are so much cheaper than comparable bikes. :D
Hi mate. Am gettin one of these in a few weeks. Does it have any security on it ie alarm/immobaliser etc. Cheers pal.
Hi Spicy, I've not been riding for a while and can pick one of these up very cheap. Is it worth it to hop on for the summer? Or wait and buy big.
This guy just persuaded me to buy one of these. Amazing review mate, keep up the good work. Anyone know how much insurance is for a 17 year old ?
Insurance works on so many factors the bike may not be the biggest influence. In short just get quotes 🙂
I’ve heard around £500 but could be wrong
Dont buy a chinese bike. How many times does it need to be said. It WILL break down, it has shoddy build quality, lexmotos have even had abs stickers on bikes without abs. They are dangerous

could you do a video on general bike maintenance? or have you already done one?
thanks for the quick reply! I think i remember someone talking about ACF 50, ill look into getting some! And ill make sure to keep an eye on the chain and cables regularly and keep her clean :)

@@spicy110 hmmm, I didn't try writing to them, will do that then, better than nothing
Does the exhaust void the warranty?
I wouldn't imagine so, certainly not if fitting a lextech part. Rather than fitting it yourself, get it done at a Lexmoto dealer during your next service if you're concerned.
It's likely my next step as mine is about to hit 4000 miles and have been doing much more long distance (100miles+) recently.
top video mate
Heard a few things about the build quality of lexmotos bikes any updates on how it’s doing ?
Lexmoto during the past decade have hugely improved the build quality of their bikes. And as long as you keep on top of regular maintenance, Their bikes should last just as long, if not longer, as other bikes in the same category and price range.
Compared to motorcycles double the cost, of which their trying to emulate? You'll need to keep a closer eye, especially if stored outdoors. But they have made adjustments to individual parts in the past few years (2018-2020) to make it even easier.
Highly recommend but only for long term if you service well and often.
Can you do 140mph on some 125cc
This feels like a question because someone you know claimed their 125cc did 140mph? If that is the case that is very funny, In short no. When I was young you could get a RS 125cc 2 stroke that unrestricted would do 110mph ish. Even at that time you needed a full licence to ride it, so you might as well have a bigger bike. I don't even think 125cc GP bikes hit 140 now.
