As far as I see it, based on the show: Superman traits: he's as strong as he needs to be, has ability to fly, has superhuman durability, can survive in the vacuum of space, belongs to alien humanoid species Spiderman traits: strong, but his body is lean rather than buff, likes performing aerial acrobatics to maneuver around obstacles, sense of humour, agile fighting style over brute force, wears mask with lenses.

But you can also clearly see that at this point Nolan isn't trying to convince mark, but himself. He wants to convince himself that he's doing the right thing, but his humanity is forming cracks. And ulrimatly Mark won that fight even though he got bodied. Nolan went trough all that mindless killing trying to convince mark and himsslf that he's right, just for mark to say "I will have you dad", not changing a single thing.

At some point in the story, a literal "concept" goddess acting as the next big bad admitted aloud that because the titular character was a protag, she would simply get beat due to the character's associated plot armor/ plot convenience that comes with being a protag and opted not to fight her.

It would be a 100 pound rock on the moon, which is easily liftable by a normal person If you lift right, but to hold it out like mark is, you’d need to be way stronger

When I first heard of the show I was hoping Mark’s name would be Vince, to match his character, but then I realised he could’ve called himself ReMARKable, but I guess that doesn’t sound as good.
I think the way he’s portrayed is really interesting in his powers because he’s an extremely powerful character but he’s just seemingly always up against someone who’s much much stronger to make him look weak, so his feats on his own are pretty damm impressive just in context of his world and opponents they appear weak
See I didnt fully guess the reason for what Omni man did but once he gives the reveal it makes so much more sense why he was always pushing Mark to only worry about saving the world. The world as a whole he does actually care about humans he doesnt want it to be wiped out so he tries to break the fighting spirit of humanity.

what i like about this is how consistent DAMAGE is for viltrumites, they have a high amount of resistance, which feels as if they had a shield around them which decays with impacts like mark can take 2 powerful blows without damage, but 5 more of these blows and he'll start taking damage
I like how they explain the flight at least in this section of the show as just jumping really hard and keeping your altitude as you fall Mark just went four on one of those flags and I love that
I like the many imperfections in the relationship between Mark and his father. Although there are serious, genuine problems between them, it's very clear their love and respect for each other as father and son kept growing over time as the show progressed.
For some reason the way he fights when things get very serious like the way he grunts with every hit he reminds me a lot of what Spider-Man does when he is in the same situation
I love how Mark's "power ups" weren't actual boosts in his strength, but fits of rage that allowed him to temporarily become MUCH more comfortable with his powers to the point where he became capable of doing certain things he wasn't able to beforehand. For example, the fit of rage he had when he saw Eve in danger during the 2nd Flaxan invasion, and the combo he gave his dad when he screamed out "LIAR!!!"

I think the way he’s portrayed is really interesting in his powers because he’s an extremely powerful character but he’s just seemingly always up against someone who’s much much stronger to make him look weak, so his feats on his own are pretty damm impressive just in context of his world and opponents they appear weak

See I didnt fully guess the reason for what Omni man did but once he gives the reveal it makes so much more sense why he was always pushing Mark to only worry about saving the world. The world as a whole he does actually care about humans he doesnt want it to be wiped out so he tries to break the fighting spirit of humanity.

what i like about this is how consistent DAMAGE is for viltrumites, they have a high amount of resistance, which feels as if they had a shield around them which decays with impacts

I like the many imperfections in the relationship between Mark and his father. Although there are serious, genuine problems between them, it's very clear their love and respect for each other as father and son kept growing over time as the show progressed.
He even brought him to Chicago and had a lovely train ride with him❤ what a great dad
For some reason the way he fights when things get very serious like the way he grunts with every hit he reminds me a lot of what Spider-Man does when he is in the same situation

I love how Mark's "power ups" weren't actual boosts in his strength, but fits of rage that allowed him to temporarily become MUCH more comfortable with his powers to the point where he became capable of doing certain things he wasn't able to beforehand. For example, the fit of rage he had when he saw Eve in danger during the 2nd Flaxan invasion, and the combo he gave his dad when he screamed out "LIAR!!!"
