I'll sell you a 2000 #10 made Lexus GS300 that has 125k miles on it, and comes with a 2JZ-GE, all you need to do is upgrade the engine to GTE status and that can be done for about 2,500-5,500 to produce at least an extra 200-400 horse power
These really are a hidden gem. Probably the best power/price ratio for jdm car. You can pick up a v300 (2jzgte) aristo with 60k miles for about 8k in Japan.
I don't think the Power Mode actually makes anything change for power figures. The big difference is that it changes the throttle response so it's more sensitive with less travel. If you mat the pedal in Power vs Snow it's the same.
The 2J block is stronger than the RB. In this Australian video, they tested both blocks for wall thickness, and metal strength. It confirmed their real life experience, the 2J can take more boost. The 2J is more reliable than the RB. No oil pump upgrade needed. No block bracing needed. Will make 800whp vs 500 to 600whp without major upgrades. Actually, the 161 Aristos were legal in Canada since 2012. They first came out in late 1997

id definitely disagree on best bargain jdm luxury, i just got a 2001 celsior (LS430) for about 6k cad, auction grade 4/5 and only 100k km on the clock i was looking into getting one of these but it was going to cost much more, 2jz engine holds a lot of value and thats for the base 2jz, not even the TT pretty much equals out though since a 2jzgte is about 5-6k cad by itself on ebay

So let's go in the middle $4,000 for a 125k 04 GS300 ( what I paid ) in good/great condition. You can reseal and turbo for around 2-5k and get 400 RELIABLE whp, 600 if you pushing it and plan on it lasting for only 50k miles. Next you could open up the engine for an extra 2-4k rods, pistons, studs, cams, head gasket, things like that for up to like 800 whp...Or you can just go GTE for 8k these days and say FORGET THE FUTURE, TRASH THE TWINS, GO BIG TURBO, 25 PSI AND SEND IT!!!...Point is America can't get these cars yet until 2024 so there are thousands sitting in shipyards, warehouses in Japan waiting that were sold for 10k years ago. YESTERDAY'S PRICE IS NOT TODAY'S PRICE...So buy a Lexus GS300 98-05 2nd Gen for under 5k, and spend another 5-15k for a WHOLE NEW rebuild with a turbo engine...
@@shawnsta7779 it is outdated, the UR will smoke the UZ and the B58 will also smoke the JZ, just need to wait until the aftermarket catches up. you should read into the new engines before saying the old stuff isnt outdated. its been 25 years man.
The RB has oiling issues and is more finicky to build for performance. In normal applications, it's fine. But due to both of them being heavy iron block engines; if you don't want max boost power you'd be better off using an aluminum block NA motor like an LS3 or 1UZ

I do it everyday! On just 480hp, with around 420 torque. The torque is why I get em in the first 200 ft, lol.

Not anymore. They're much more now. I just imported a non turbo 98 Aristo with 53,000 miles for 8.6k with fees and everything.
