While not confirmed in the movie, a major theory for why Gamora went after Thanos directly is that she simply knew she couldn't run forever. Thanos already had the Space stone at that point. There's nowhere she could go that Thanos couldn't reach. She wanted to go after him while he only had two stones, rather than wait for him to get five before coming for her.
Yeah, I had to spend ages thinking about whether or not that was a reasonable assumption based on what we saw on screen.
But that still wouldn't stop her from being able to hide. Without the soul stone he wouldn't be able to simply know where she is, right? So if she isn't found by him, he doesn't have access to the stone that'd let him find her.
@@vulpes133 Thanos has already captured Nebula and found out where the soul stone is before the events the infinity war. That's why thanoa gets off his assistant and starts collecting them. He didn't want to start until he knew where every stone was. Gamora may not know this, but she also does not know that anyone else knows where the stone is. Therefore, as long as Peter is there to kill her, there is no risk of Thanos getting the soul stone.
@@turbonerdo6838 Thanos didn't know where the soul stone was, only that Gamora knew where it was. Of course, Thanos didn't specifically need the soul stone to find Gamora, as he's been shown to already have quite a network of informants that helped him find the rest of the stones already, so it would only be a matter of time before Gamora was found and forced to take him to Vormir anyways. There's also the fact that Gamora and Thanos's relationship is, well, complicated, and her reasons for going straight for Thanos weren't entirely based on logic. Whatever the case, it's not totally unreasonable to see why she made the choices she did.
@Turbo_Nerdo I swear I remember the whole thing about Nebula was that the only thing she knew about the soul stone was that Gamora knew where it was. That was why Thanos was torturing Nebula in front of Gamora, to get the information from her on where the stone was. If she hadn't been caught, Thanos still wouldn't know where the stone is.

About needing Peter's measurements for the Iron Spider suit: It uses the same nano tech as Tony's Bleeding Edge Armor. You can see the nano bots actively constructing the suit around his body, even adapting to his movements as he falls. Measurements wouldn't be needed for this level of robotic intuition

I thought the iron spider suit was shown at the end of the welcome home? Besides even now in the real world there are phone apps that can accurately take measurements for clothing, I can't imagine the tech Tony Stark has that could do the same if needed.
Considering he made spidey's other suit Tony should already have his mesurments anyway. And if he didn't have them when he made the first sute since it basically vacuume seals to fit chances are the suits sensors got his measurements and the onboarding AI recored it and reported it to Tony. >.> or he could have just scanned him or some shit by seeing him where talking about Tony who created a new fucking element it's not a far fetch assumption to assume he got it somehow how he got it isent important the real question should be is there reason enough in the mcu for us to assume that Tony has or could easily get the mesurments and the answer is yes..... yes there is......x.x

Yeah, plus I imagine Tony’s suits were designed to conform to fit people better even before the Nanobot stuff. The War Machine suit is just one of Tony’s but it fits Rhodey fine.

For your ammedment on Spidey's suit to breathe in space/water:
We know Tony modifies his suits and they usually have some fix to a previous solution.
In Homecoming, Peter is dropped from a high enough altitude for his parachute safety to deploy and he falls into a lake where he seems unable to escape.
This might be a reason as to why Tony installed an airtight suit besides him already giving himself one.
Another possibility is that Tony seemed to have upgrade Spidey's suit in Homecoming to be nanotech or something similar before his own(this is because Spider-Man could not be as agile in a standard metal iron Man suit so Tony implements the nanotech in Spidey's suit first.)
Edit: Forgot to mention that the parachute in Homecoming is likely an addition after War Machine plummets in Civil War, paralyzing him. Another example is in the first film where Tony's MK. 1 freezes up at high altitudes, so his Silver Mk. 2 has a mechanical ice breaker built-in. Last one I can remember is in Avengers, Tony's suit(Mk. 7 I think) can supercharge from Thor's lightning blast. Who did Tony fight before that? Whiplash in Iron Man 2 who destroyed Tony's armor with ease!

Gamora being the last of her kind in Guardians and not in Infinity War is not necessarily a loose end - killing half of a population could well lead to complete extinction as society collapses, and Thanos did quite a bit of invading before the genocide that could help with that. Essentially, something could have happened to her people between the films (or, the flashback and Guardians) that drove them almost extinct, with Gamora only being spared because Thanos had taken her.
A loose end is a detail that is not yet settled or explained. This has not been settled or explained.
@@JayExci Another interpretation of the line could be that their people were tribal, and her specific tribe was wiped out but the remaining tribes still survived. I.e. if half of the population of Europe was killed off and only one German person survived then they would indeed be the last of the Aryan People. That's my personal interpretation of the plothole.

The rest of the Guardians didn't know that Thanos needed Gamora to get the Soul Stone. And neither did she. She knew the location of it, but she didn't know that Thanos would be able to coerce her into giving away the location nor did she know Thanos would have to sacrifice her.
The only reason the Guardians would have to keep her away is because her judgment might be clouded.

In the season 6 episode Let's Kill Hitler, The Doctor says that the weapon thing was a lie to stop people from firing weapons in the TARDIS. Because if they thought it wouldn't work, then why would they bother trying?
I'd say they'd test it just to be sure, and not take the infamously insincere being at face value.

Point is, there is an in-universe explanation for why the contradiction exists, even if it isn't a very smart one on The Doctor's part.
They did retcon it yeah, but for ages it was just an unexplained inconsistency. I mean this has been retconned multiple times. In an 8th Doctor story a time lord called Straxus is in the TARDIS and tells someone that their weapon won't work inside it. The Doctor says "Actually, mine hasn't done that for years" I personally prefer that version of the retcon but there you go.

On the “zero fighter characteristic” part, you could argue that the way gamora asked the question is also a quality of a fighter, as she displayed no fear and showed full on confidence and “I will fight you to get that info” face.
I think people often misinterpret Thanos' character as some kind of manipulative, logical genius when he is literally never characterized that way. He's a religious fanatic, an individual driven by belief in an ideal, and in his method of achieving that ideal. Sputtering at the lack of logic in Thanos' execution of his plan is like sputtering at the lack of logic in a plan by the Taliban or Zionists or the Proud Boys. They aren't concerned with logic, they're concerned with using force to make their ideals a reality.
The fact that Thanos only killed half of Gamora's race doesn't mean she isn't the last one.
Thanos isn't the only thing in the universe that can wipe out races even in our world yet alone the MCU.
It IS seemingly contradicted properly when Thanos claims that Gamora's homeworld is thriving, however we never see her planet after Thanos wrecks it, and Thanos might be lying or simply might not know. It is unlikely that Thanos checks up on every planet he half-genocides, so his information might be dated. Still, the simplest explanation is that this is a minor continuity error about something that had no real bearing on anything during the Guardians movies.

On the Spiderman suit bit, does no one remember how Peter almost drowned in Homecoming because of how the Parachute deployed and the suit didn't have an air supply? If Tony is super protective of Peter then it totally fits that the upgrade to the suit he designed would have an air supply since the lack of one almost got Peter killed and Peter only survived because Tony intervened.
In my opinion, the air supply not only fits as a thing Tony would add, but a lack of an air supply would be grossly out of character for him.

History lesson time! While not modern, there was a soldier in WW2 named Jack Churchill. He was a British soldier who fought using a Longbow, Sword, Bagpipes, and Kilt. He stormed Vågsøy, Norway in 1941. After a couple more skrimishes and battles he was captured by German soldiers and sent to a concentration camp. He escaped and on his way back home he got captured again and sent to a camp in Austria where he would escape again.
So yes. A bow and a sword are weapons used in modern warfare is not as crazy as it may sound :P

Historical weapons are still valid, after all they were used for hundreds if not thousands of years (the basic idea of them, like spears and ranged attacks, even if the actual implementation of them changes) and guns as we know them are only a few hundred years old. So as time progresses the day to day use of them may degrade but their intended purpose still remains. So yeah, when WW3 breaks out I'm going to stick around with an arming sword and shield and see who will enlist me first!

In regards to Scarlet Witch and her powers being channeled through her hands, it seems like she's using basic motor functions as a "joystick" of sorts to help direct her power. We've seen her use her powers without motions once in Age of Ultron while in extreme emotional distress, but there was no control to that outburst, just destruction. Meanwhile when she's controling her power she pretends to rip something apart with her hands.
Just a thought I thought I'd share.

Guns have been shown to work surprisingly well in the mcu considering that quicksilver was shot by them in Age of ultron and lady daddy ran away from them showing that she could be killed there
Quicksilver still takes a bullet to the arm and keeps going. It’s only when he gets pumped full of multiple bullets that he dies. Nearly every other character is at the very least bullet resistant, if not blatantly bulletproof like Hulk and Thor. Proxima left the fight because her teammate was injured and it would basically be a 1 on 4 with some of the best hand-to-hand fighters in the MCU, and by far one of the biggest powerhouses in Wanda. And that’s if we’re leaving Vision out, who still shows he could fight to an extent.

Not to mention (referring to the air supply in the Iron spider suit) Tony has been shown to go a little overboard with the settings in the suit, giving him like 200 web settings, a kill mode and probably a lot more. He wants to protect Peter and because he 1. Almost fell into the ocean and drowned and 2. He almost fell from like really high up, it makes sense for Tony to add a parachute and an air supply

I know this is waaay too late but I literally can't imagine Tony not making the Iron-Spider suit space proof. Jesus, at his nanotech peak Tony could even hold the Stones using his tech, space proofness seems like a minor thing to put in Spidy's suit, giving how protective Tony is of Peter.
I was gonna comment on the fact that they can't use the Reality Stone because it's stated that mortals can't handle the stones. But then I remember Jane Foster had it for a few days so yeah.

Where did Tony get his measurements from?
Litterally ALL of Spiderman Homecoming was about Tony being protective/big brother-y with Peter. It wouldnt surprise me at all to learn that the suit Peter has in SH (which was made by Tony) sends all biometric data to Tony at all times. Just like it sends location and heart rate and altitude etc
Regarding the one about the Iron Spider breathing in space, Peter never went to space in Homecoming BUT he did nearly drown after the fight with the Vulture (the one where the Vultue dropped him into the lake and his parachute failed). Since both those situations would require giving Peter suitable air to breath, it is possible that the suit was designed for water and just happened to be compatible with space as well. It's a stretch, but possible.
15:35 I resent that statement about hawkeye and peoples unrelenting and unnecessary hatred for him. The clip Jay showed was from Avengers, (obviously) a movie that very well demonstrates just how dangerous Hawkeye is very well. The whole point of the bow and arrow is that Hawkeyes arrows have a lot more tech crammed into them than would be available in a bullet. That's why he always chooses it over normal guns, which he has access to as seen Thor. Also the comment about Falcons guns being irrelevant. 1. He is a former soldier as seen in Winter Soldier where he mlre than held his own against Hydra agents, demonstrating just how good he is with that kind of weaponry. He only had a problem against Bucky who was brainwashed into being an incredible assassin. 2. I didn't notice until while Jay was talking about inferior weaponry, he played a clip of the MK50. I don't think Jay was saying that Falcon should have that but it did make me realize that under the conditions Falcon really doesnt have access to anything else. However, he is good with guns. Which we see in plenty other movies than this one, and having five heroes on the battlefield is much better than only 4. And you could make an arguement that Black Widow isn't using any weapons and is therefore irrelevant, but that wouldn't make sense because she is quite possibly one of the best martial artists in the MCU.
TL;DR: Hawkeye and Falcon are cool and useful in a fight
For why cap is on the other side of the tracks, sometimes people can't just be in other places. He still should have been quicker, though.
in regards to the iron spider-man suit having being able to go to space, we know that every single iron man suit since iron man 1 has been. in iron man we see tony go to the upper atmosphere without blacking out meaning that every iron man suit ever has been a) air-tight and b) had an air supply. ergo it would be weirder if the iron spider-man suit wasn't space enabled...
For the Gamora survivor thing, half her planet was alive YEARS before that criminal report was seen. Anything can happen in that time, including that half being killed by opportunistic invaders after Thanos adopts Gamora and leaves.

The final sin, "Last survivor" is kind of a tricky one. Who knows what could have happened to her people in the time between the massacre and when she was arrested? Other groups could have attacked the now hugely vulnerable people or they could have just gone into hiding with the rest of the galaxy assuming a total wipe out. "Last of their kind" rarely seemed like a precise label so much as it's meant to say "we're having a hard time finding them"
Or maybe they mean survivor in the Beyonce "she fierce way" which seems like the most obvious and probable conclusion.
The fighting characters are good at fighting wow and Cap was both Wanda's and Vision's leader in all of the movies like the end of Age of Ultron.

Actually the part about Gamora could be foreshadowing the fact that Thanos was either lying to Gamora to try and trick her into trusting him, whilest his tactics failed and his henchmen would never tell him that or else they would be afraid of being killed by Thanos in rage or something along those lines

9:20 Scarlet Witch is a telepath. If you stretch her powers out enough, she might have been able to "hear" Glaive's thoughts. Although I don't think she ever demonstrated this kind of power, so it wouldn't really be a fair point against the movie

Somebody did actually call the Doctor (Davison) out on the whole "state of grace" thing. Can't remember whether it was Nyssa or Tegan, but it was one of them. And his answer was like "Oh. Did I say that?" It was probably one of the earliest uses of the now standardized "the Doctor lies" excuse that bails them out of having to justify continuity errors.
