The best thing about all of this is not all the material things... it's how much your wife supports your passion and shares this moment with you. That's the only thing that matters. That's what true partnership and love is.
I love how, even though Joel has the best game collection in the world, he's still excited with every new and rare edition into his collection. He looked like a kid unwrapping gifts on Christmas in this video. That enthusiasm is really nice to see.
I think a huge part of the appeal is the reaction and genuine appreciation that is shown for every little object that is featured on this channel. From arcade cabinet restoration to the simple things, like that Gradius music box, everything is handled with reverence. Such an awesome thing.
Fantastic haul. Konami and capcom sure have got a great legacy. Hit after hit. That ending music for gradius is amazing! Dude you pulled at my heart strings at the end. Damn man. Nice watch.
Love it. That ending was great. I have never heard of this before, and it's awesome that you shared that obscure piece of gaming history with us. Thank you!
Joel, you're so lucky to have such a generous friend who took so much care and time to wrap all those presents for you, what an awesome person. How much fun was that?! Even I got excited as a viewer watching and trying to anticipate what was unwrapped next.
I collected arcade games for almost 30 years, and for almost 20 I work for an amusement/arcade game trading company. To see someone like you, having almost everything in his collection, and still be able to honestly cherish small things like new posters or T-Shirts makes me really happy!
You should consider opening up your basement as a video game museum. I would definitely pay to see your collection. Perhaps it could be called the Videogame Hall of Fame. I seriously cannot think of any other place with such a vast collection of not only different video games and console, but also the different regional versions of each! And meeting the owner, who has such a deep passion and respect for the games, would make it worthwhile the trip imo ;)
I highly doubt there would be any people that would pay $2k-5k for ANY museum (aside from charity-type events). Also, think about how many hardcore gamers would spend thousands to fly out to Australia, and then pay thousands to spend a few hours in a museum. And I'm pretty sure Joel doesn't need help with the funds, so there is no purpose. These videos do a good job of going into detail on various aspects of his collection, and I think that satisfies most of us gamers/collectors.
Hey Joel. Just finished watching your vid. You are the reason guys like us love this hobby. I've been playing for over 40 years, starting with my Radio Shack TV Scoreboard, then onto Coleco's Telstar, and so on. Your passion for video games is nothing short of beautiful. People make outstanding games, and fans, like yourself show their appreciation for them. Tell your wife that she's an amazing person. Not too often you see someone find their true soul mate, and just like that music box, good things come to those who wait, so good on you mate. Again, congrats on your latest vid, and continued good fortune. Cheers from Montreal, Canada. :) GAME ON!!!
It definitely sucks getting older wishing we could go back to our greatest moments growing up. You sir have the best collection ever hands down I applaud you for the time you put in to collect and show us something that entertained us in our youth.
I just can't help it! It makes me smile to see how happy you are opening every single item, it is truly a joy to see videos like this, good for you for living your dream!
I never comment on Videos but I have been on TH-cam since the beginning and am absolutely addicted to Last Gamer, great content , pure passion. This channel is going to be big! Thanks Joel from Daniel (New Zealand)
Seeing your genuine emotional reaction to opening that tiny little box was so amazing. We can see how much these things really mean to you. You already have so many fantastic collectibles but something so small like that music box made you tear up, it was really touching. Sometimes the littles things in life can be the most memorable. Congrats!
This was my first video of yours and what an amazing introduction it was. I have to admit I've always been kinda jealous of you guys getting all this free stuff but your genuine heart felt reaction too it all (the music box especially) was fantastic. You deserve it all buddy. The Capcom artwork book looks amazing.
Your video's bring me so much joy to watch, your a 100% legit guy and you deserve this. Lets help Joel grow the channel folks he deserves so much more.
In a VERY short time this channel has become my favorite thing to watch on TH-cam, and I am a movieguy. Your passion shines trough in everything you do. I hope to see many many more videos from you. This was an exceptionally beautiful episode. Good to see that even though you have such a huuuge collection you still get emotional about getting new stuff.
Another Superb video Joel I shared your excitement with every piece you opened. But I've gotta say as a Massive Gradius fan myself - that end bit was pure magic ! 👍👍
lol you're not spoiled man, the level of excitement and appreciation you showed every item in the box proves you genuinely appreciate what your friend sent you
You are awesome Joel. It is nice to see someone getting so excited about gaming merchandise. The ending was especially moving and shows that such a great collection could not be in better hands.
I only just found his channel. Seeing him tear up with the music box got me emotinal aswell. It's amazing to receive something unexpected that someone's waited years for to have.
This is the video i keep going back to when i hear speculation that you've sold everything and quit. If you have, fine, but i just think that your love for Gradius and getting this music box cements your collection as eternal.
Great stuff, Joel. Given all the amazing items you have in your collection it's nice to see that something so small gives you such joy. Most in your position probably wouldn't appreciate such things.
29:39 says it all about Joel and his channel. You can go on and on about thinking he's just some rich show-off but it's clearly not the case. He's passionate about video games and it shows. He's all heart.
This was one emotional unboxing video. Have to say, it made me be bit teary-eyed as well. That box was full of nostalgia & memories. No doubt your friend really cares for you and sends great stuff. It was like watching a kid opening his Christmas presents. The music box was magical! When you are after something for so long and then finally getting it, no wonder you weren't able to to hold back your emotions. I guess happiness does come in small packages. Well we now know what game you will be playing on the weekend. This channel is of to great heights, I just can feel it. All the best!
That outro footage during the credits is why I love this channel. Your passion for these games and collecting is so genuine and infectious. Another awesome vid mate!
Wow!! That emotional ending just shows the power of games, and the love between you and your wife. I got a bit teary myself. You deserve it all Joel. Such a genuine and humble dude. My fave gaming channel on youtube :)
Thank you for sharing. What a special moment to receive that music box. I am very happy for you, it’s moments like this that makes me love collecting and makes me think about what video games mean to me.
That's just... amazing Joel. Such an excellent selection of items overall but that last one in particular, that is beyond special and it's so nice to see it go to yourself as it's clearly evident how much it means to you. I can't even type anything else, nothing to follow it with except that it's a really beautiful moment and thanks for sharing it with us all.
It's awesome how excited and passionate you are about this stuff, I'm not much of a gamer these days (only the odd PC game) but your enthusiasm takes me back to being a kid and going down to the rental store or if I was lucky the game section of Woolworths or Dixons and picking out a new game, the excitement of taking it home and playing it for the first time I really miss. I always watch your videos and I look forward to seeing more of your collection, the games room is looking amazing as-well! (I'd also be interested in seeing your Tamiya r/c cars if you can squeeze them into an episode). Thanks!
Stumbled on this channel / video today and immediately subscribed after watching. It's so neat to see someone with so much positive enthusiasm for collecting.
Wow never thought I would be caught up in emotion like you showed let alone tearing up with you. Congratz mate and keep pursuing your passion! Gives me insane hope for mine!
I hate unboxing videos and I watched through 30 minutes of this thanks to you. You're doing a great job. The last part touched me so much. You truly love this. It's not fake, and it's beautiful
Wow. You got me tearing up along with you, Joel. In fact, when it was done and over, I had to back it up and rewatch the last 5 minutes over again because I frankly missed some of it because I got overwhelmed. I've been there, when someone gives a gift that just HITS the heart like that. Congratulations, buddy. You deserve it, and I can't wait to see your Gradius collection displayed.
I grew up playing Nintendo, Sega, Sega Genesis, Super Nes PS 1,2,3 and now 4. I wouldnt consider myself a gamer at all, and only stumbled on your channel, but passion for gaming is awesome and infectious. Subscribed!
I can't even think about it... I'm speechless. This box is... beyond earth and the ending, Omg, so happy for you! Your support from Mandy is incredible! All the best!!!
Congratulations Joel! Out of all the stuff you have in your collection it's a little music box that has so much meaning and importance to you as a grail. Really nice to see!
Wow! That is the ultimate surprise box! So much cool gaming items! I love it! Congrats on the rare Gradius music box you been searching for ages and thanks for sharing all this cool stuff!
haha you made me cry. :( Ya big goose Love it. Pure gaming passion! I went to Japan a couple years back with a friend. We ended finding Capcom headquarters. Just off the street we walked in, i was shitting myself. so my friend did all the talking. We didn't know much Japanese at all,But some how they let us get to the 2nd level. They gave us special passes. 2nd level had heaps of statues arcade machine. But wasn't turned on. looked like street fighter. And about 3 people in suits walked out to greet us. lol they didnt know any english. But we said we love Capcom and said could we maybe any game in development? But i don't think they understood. Was very cool, and they were so nice! and we went on our way. Was cool getting into the 2nd level! Street Fighter V was being made at the time.
Congratulations man. I really felt this video. I remember I used to look at a lot of gaming materials from outside shop windows lol. I never had the money as a kid, so I would only look outside shops. 30 years old now, I have a good amount of stuff. This video is really for us old gamers. The last gamers lol.
Wow! this is so amazing! im so happy for you Joel that you finally found your holy grail! Those emotions you and your wife had made my eyes water up too! I totally love your videos, thank you so much for all this entertainment they have given me. Greetings from another collector in Sweden.
This is the first video of yours I've ever watched. It's safe to say it will always remain my favourite of yours. Your genuine happiness in getting that music box just showed me something that I feel very people have these days, and that's heartfelt honesty and passion. It comes through in spades! I'm happy for your happiness.
Honestly so glad I stumbled upon your channel Joel. First video I saw was the one about your world record, and I thought you were crazy! But so worth sticking around and seeing this content you produce, I just love watching content like this, from people that are so passionate about their content that you can feel the emotion.... Then the music box at the end of this video... Wow I'm still feeling a little choked up right now just seeing how overwhelmed you were. Keep it up, and honestly being Aussie too, if you allowed people to visit that incredible games room, I'd hit the Hume in a heartbeat, just to see all these amazing pieces in person, and to share everything gaming with you! But I guess your channel will have to do, you're gonna be one of the few channels I'll click the bell button on, so I never miss any of your content!
Oh man, I really enjoy and love your channel, you deserve this 100%. You make me cry of happiness. Your spouse's support is totally a reference in this world.
All good comes to them who wait, this was your turn.. I enjoyed watching this video and I even got a tear when watched this, I do not have as much connection to Capcom and Konami as you do but still..
Was really excited to watch this video after you mentioned it was coming up. Didn't disappoint! It was great to see your genuine excitement and love for everything you opened. The ending was epic! Hats off to Capcom, Konami and your friend Nin to sort you out all that stuff. Awesome man!
I am soooo happy for you man !!! I believe every gamer even the first gamer will understand how it feels when you got something what is truelly close to a heart ! Thumbs up 👍👍👍
It's so joyous watching how excited you are about this stuff, as cool as your collections are it's your true passion for this art that makes this channel so watchable and enjoyable
And he took the music box out of the box! Lol I do like how he actually takes stuff out of their boxes and uses/plays/wears them. Doesn't just collect things for a shelf or to try and make more money on the back end.
The best thing about all of this is not all the material things... it's how much your wife supports your passion and shares this moment with you. That's the only thing that matters. That's what true partnership and love is.
Wangavision , Well Said! I agree.👍👏
Right makes yah keep looking for your right one 🤤
It's always fun to see someone getting genuinely excited about gaming stuff.
chris oseland
I think he has children
man that made me cry for sure lol
Joel, I know you're excited, but you are going to give me a heart attack with the way you rip open packages and use that utility knife lol.
wanted to say the same. be careful with that cutter haha
I was just about to make this exact comment!! The most dangerous tool is a dull knife!! I kept hoping he'd open a knife!! Lol
Ditto! "it's well-protected" *rip* *yank* *fold* Slow down, mate! :)
I love how, even though Joel has the best game collection in the world, he's still excited with every new and rare edition into his collection. He looked like a kid unwrapping gifts on Christmas in this video. That enthusiasm is really nice to see.
right? not entitled at all, just genuinely stoked on all the cool stuff
Man, uv wanted that gradius box for so long that I'm not surprised u got emotional. Very happy for u. Yet another example of how much u care.
You are so lucky to have her man. To cry with you for that? That is so unheard of today. Respect to your wife and congratulations on finding the box!

When your heart is into something its very easy to get emotional. So stoked to see something so rare and awesome end up with a true fan.

I train mma , boxing and can handle many guns. I would totally be a guard in case someone would try something they shouldnt.
That's great, I love passion, and you are especially blessed to have a family that shares in your passion.
Not gonna lie I got teary eyed at the end. I could really feel just how much that meant to you. Congratulations my friend!
one of the best youtube endings ever.
That was so incredible. Love how emotional you got and how much Mandy was also effected by it and came to support you.
Love the raw emotion. I can see it's genuine and it's what keeps me coming back to the channel.

'i wish it could be christmas every day' was for most people just a song. for this guy, it literally is.
Hi Joel... May I ask the source of the Ghosts 'n Goblins piano arrangement playing at 14:45? It's my favorite series and I'd love to listen to this!

Lol
I do like how he actually takes stuff out of their boxes and uses/plays/wears them. Doesn't just collect things for a shelf or to try and make more money on the back end.
