its 6am in europe. Just wake up before work and watching your new video. As a collector i can say you are one of the most positive person in this hobby. Great videos, great attitude. I can see its a pure joy for you for every new piece of hardware or game you get. This is really how collecting should be like. Just passion. Hope u wil never change. Second hope you will make more videos in future!!!!
Love it that even after the massive collection and all the things you collected over the years, that excitement on your face going through all those games was just awesome man! Especially when ghosts n goblins came up!
This is a flash back beyond belief. I remember my local Sears store having something like this (As I'm in the US.) but using the upright NES in it's casing while I just pushed buttons next to the corresponding game to play them all as my parents shopped. Good God Man. Thank you for archiving all of this for us nerds to watch.
The little touches like adding the keyboard typing sounds while showing the PS2 keyboard are super cool. So much care taken to produce great videos. Also I'm blown away by the famicom box. That is an insane addition. Also, please upgrade to 4K video before doing the Game room unveiling. Seems like the room really deserves it;)
That famicom box is a beautiful piece of gaming history. It looks like a military grade NES sysytem that would of been at a barrack. Thanks for sharing this with us on today's episode.
The amount of knowledge you have on all of this stuff is amazing. I love watching your videos, especially this series to see you get excited about everything.
I know a lot about video games, but i'll be damned, I learned something knew. Had no idea this box had nes style carts nor that they were black. This is incredible. Awesome part of history right there. I'd be stoked.
Another great vid...I really can't wait until your channel blows up so I can say I've been watching since the beginning. You actually got me to go back and finally beat Gradius...Thanks!
Thanks for showing us these rare items we would probably have never seen. Super cool. Also probs for your enthusiasm ;). You’re just genuinely super excited. Keep it up my friend.
Loving the new intro & feel of Whats in the box! It has more you can say its own 'personality' now & I like how things are being shown in detail. I agree with the part about PS2 keyboard and which games will take advantage of it. Now that FamicomBox sure takes you back, I don't know why but it reminds me of pre 80s era with its design and interface. Its size sure is huge. Keep them coming!
That Famicom box is sick. The 90s was very much all about importing for me. I started collecting Super Famicom games, for my American Super Nintendo in 1991 and started collecting for the Neo-Geo (when I could afford it lol) and other NTSC systems back in the day, Love the new intro as well dude :)
I think these and the super famicox box were designed for hotel rooms. Sharp also made a famicom box. With just a different print on the casing and title boot up.
Wow at that Famicom box, it looks like its in great condition too! Nice addition to your collection. Keep it up with the great videos Joel, I love your channel.
The US had a version of the Famicom box, but it was in an upright arcade cabinet that had multiple games to choose from during the mid-80's. Don't recall what was playable other then Super Mario and Excitebike, but there were 10-15 titles.
Great new presentation, great soundtrack, great items, great video!! I cant wait to see a full review of all the new things you have and of course of all the others wonderful things you have in your collection. Your videos are so enjoyable, thank you so much, keep going and have a nice day Joel :)
A Sega printer? Wow! :) I learn so much just by watching your videos, Joel! Amazing! And a Famicom box! It just blew me away! Thank you so much for showing this and for sharing your knowledge! :) You're the best! Have a great weekend! Cheers!
I love stuff like that Famicom box, that thing is the essence of retro haha, I could imagine it would have been pretty epic to have access to one back in the NES days aswell. Only you could have a good friend in Japan who sends you things you definitely don't own yet, he could just be the coolest friend anyone has ever had haha.
I live in the UK and saw a NES UK style famicombox in Boots in the 80's. I never played it, but Duck Hunt was the game most people were playing on it at the time.
quality, I literally just found out the other day from a youtube video of old adverts in the 90's that Boots used to sell games, I missed out on so many opportunities to beg one of my parents to get me a Megadrive game back in the day, I used to be like "I don't wanna go in boring boots, i'll wait in the car"......bollox!.
I agree, i'd move there and help with editing if you'd offer. lol No, but really, hire me, and together, we shall...let me mooch off your connections to get me a bigger collection. Oh and yea, help with the channel too. Bet you thought i'd forgotten.
I had no idea that's what it looked like, another excellent video and now I just want to go home and play fc. I've seen a Famicom kiosk in Denden town Osaka but never one of these, made my day.
Those upper locks looks like they use standard keys that old PC's used too, i remember my first computers had keyholes that looked exactly the same, so they should be easy to find =)
Well then Joel, in your own words I would have to say that video was "Quite Good" as it is... ...who am I kidding though? That was an amazing unboxing video! A Famicom Box?!? Incredible. Watching this video after a long day at work really brightened up my day, so thank you.
Another great adventure! Your excitement is infectious! Its like Christmas morning whenever you get packages! But seriously, i really do think you should build a museum somewhere because i dont think you're gonna have the space if people keep sending you gifts! Nintendo is such a fond memory for me growing up. My favs were Super Mario Bros, Metroid, Castlevania, MTs Punchout, Ghost N Goblins, and Russian Attack. Keep up the great work and hope to see more of the new addition to the house soon. Friend from USA!
I like the new opening/ending for "What's in the box Japan". Also by the sound of it there is a decent amount of things that are coming on "Eye on retro"... hopefully that means we'll get to see some more eye on retro videos soon!. Wow that FAMICOMBOX seems amazing! don't have to keep swapping the games out just put your top 15 games in there, connect it to your TV and you're good to go!
I always recommend your channel to other you tubers and game collectors/hunters and a lot claim they have never heard of you , i reckon they know they can't compete with you and just live in denial. I love the Nintendo too what a showpiece.
You have shown that you work hard for everything and have a huge passion for everything gaming. I believe your channel will continue to grow, just keep doing what you are doing.
Has the story ever been told of how the two of you came to be friends? I'd love to hear it some time. Great video as always Joel! The Famicombox is AMAZING.
Massive episode! Saturn printer haha 😂 looks like a cute toy. And... omg Famicom box? Never heard of it, it's crazy how many slots has. Good catch Joel! Japan Power!
I'm looking forward to all these "eye on retro" episodes you keep mentioning. you really need to give that segment more attention! surely I'm not the only one interested in seeing more about all your obscure retro gaming gear. I get intrigued with these quick looks of your prototype consoles and stuff, but then you say: "...we'll save that for an eye on retro episode" lol maybe talk about your ultra 64 next?
Thanks Joel, another great video! Just wanted to say I like this new format for What's in the Box, good production! Does the Famicombox require those specialised cartridges or will it also accept the consumer carts as well?
LMAO, Me and my best friend were getting to the end of Dark Knight Rises when I noticed your new video, so naturally we had to pause the film for 15 minutes haha :).
Hello Joel, that Famicom box is a awesome addition to your collection, your channel continues to amaze with the video game treasures and collectibles which I never knew existed. With the Famicom box since it has a coin op maybe you can add it to your arcade room and have it built into a classic arcade look, just a suggestion if you don't know where to put it, awesome video as always.👍
I'd like to see a video about your CRT television collection. You went over them in one of the old videos that isn't available so it would be nice to see a new one. And with even more details.
I’m 2 mins in and I have paused the video to beg you. Never end this channel. You are the best thing that’s happened to youtube
he did :(
@Panty Sniffer such a shame he could have endless content with amount of stuff he has

Love it that even after the massive collection and all the things you collected over the years, that excitement on your face going through all those games was just awesome man! Especially when ghosts n goblins came up!
This was a late surprise. Was about to call it a night till I saw this. Love your show!!!
At 9:44 the gun on the side of the Famicom box moved on its own as soon as he said ghost . I found that kind of spooky . 👻
This is a flash back beyond belief. Ohh man that Famicombox I had such a smile on my face when you turned it on, awesome stuff.
That famicom box is a beautiful piece of gaming history. It looks like a military grade NES sysytem that would of been at a barrack. Thanks for sharing this with us on today's episode.
Just started watching this recently, absolutely brilliant. You seem like a really sound bloke.who could know half this stuff existed.
The amount of knowledge you have on all of this stuff is amazing. I love watching your videos, especially this series to see you get excited about everything.
The intro for the "Japan" version of What's In The Box is awesome!!!!!
I'm digging that Famicom box. See some changes in the back cant wait for a updated tour.
I know a lot about video games, but i'll be damned, I learned something knew. Had no idea this box had nes style carts nor that they were black. This is incredible. Awesome part of history right there. I'd be stoked.

Your What's in the box is better than any loot crate

The US had a version of the Famicom box, but it was in an upright arcade cabinet that had multiple games to choose from during the mid-80's. Don't recall what was playable other then Super Mario and Excitebike, but there were 10-15 titles.

I'm still trying to catch my breath over the Gradius music box. I nearly had a gastric bypass.
Quality over content is Last Gamers Motto - but hell yeah everyday would be heaven
Yeah he said something a few videos ago about "Quality vs quantity". I agree. 2 a week is fine. It makes us anticipate them a bit more.
Joel well done and impressive to see the passion in collecting! Keep up the great work 👍

Famicom Box =O Amazing pickup!!! I would want to recap that as I know the US versions of the same thing have really poor caps in them.
