Nice jam! If you need ideas about Move topics for videos, I am really curious/ looking for a good explanation of the time resolution, it can be adjusted but I haven’t dived into it yet, don’t know exactly what it does, and how one can use it for sequencing triplets.
Thanks! And thankfully XY is in song/pattern mode, which transitions between scenes for me. It's been a bit messy any time I've tried to switch scenes manually.
Thanks! The main melody was an original acoustic guitar sample (multisampler engine), the drums were all stock sounds, the bass/cello used XY synth engines, and the choral sound used an XY stock sample preset.
How the heck did you realize the off beats like that? track scale 4 and swing so hard? Or did you live record this and the LEDs only blink when a note is played? I thought the LEDs walk continuously no matter if theres a note or not.
Happy to explain! For the "chorus" I live recorded the notes, but for most of it I step sequenced the melody and used some step component trickery. Track scale is 1, and notes alternate between having Pulse 6 + Hold 3 and only having Hold 2 (no pulse), which is where the rhythm comes from.
@@windowbed Pulse and Hold are step components? Thats what I'm still least familiar with. I am mainly confused by the sequence LEDs blinking on the off beats. You know? I thougth the LEDs blinking indicates some sort of playhead.
@@reneeschke so the led blinky is (generally) yes on play head. When steps have hold or pulse on them the 'play head' of blinky lights will stay there. Pulse repeating notes for a set number on that one step, or hold just taking a breather and holding on that step for a set amount of time. I have an op-z not an xy though. And I'm certain the xy has other trickery for sort of dividing playback and so messing with the led play head visual
I freaking love it, fantastic job!
those kicks sound so phat 😩
More mind blowing work! ❤
Sooo good, James! Would love to see your process in building this out!
Nice, Would love you to share some of your pro level tips on this....
I can definitely do a (simplified) tutorial whenever I feel like I have the patience 😊
@@windowbed I'd really just like to see the same vid w the pattern view play out..
nice 👌
clicked for the OP-XY, stayed for the sick Terry Riley remix
Great cover, love it!

Oh my god, TH-cam has bugs. This was actually comment meant for a completely different video. But your jam was nice too, so never mind!
Nailed it!
Great job!
Amazing
Thats 🔥! Nice!!
Nice job
this is wicked dude
love it. share the process / project ?
One day! Cover tutorials always take forever to make for some reason
Brill idea dude! As cool as pleating Muse on Muse! ❤
Haha good one
This so good. Are you doing anything special to transition so seamlessly from one scene to the next?
Thanks! And thankfully XY is in song/pattern mode, which transitions between scenes for me. It's been a bit messy any time I've tried to switch scenes manually.
Sounds amazing! Are these all stock sounds?

awesome! You really nailed it. May I ask if the drums especially the kick is a stock op-xy sound?
Thank you! Yes, all the drums are stock sounds here. I used two kicks from the adorably-named Boop kit: Kick Boop A and Kick Boop B.
@those kicks are are kickin‘!
