This is wonderful music. I mean, DAWs are terrific tools, but somewhere along the line we started to lose the core notion of simply learning how to play your instrument. Bravo, my friend for reminding us.
I spent a year and half on a daw album and it was my worst one to date. Went back to hardware and never looked back. Know your instruments like your best friends
I could do some of this ...and by some i mean 2 min of music. My question is how do you remember what to do next - and what sounds work together. I mix on my laptop and i lose my place
this is the flow, how electronic music works... even playing along with old limited hardware sampler pushes a track in it's own direction, by the way a good kind of work on DAWs to sound differ from the generic VST DNA
This is so true! I went back to full minimal hardware and actualy play music with instrument. My dawn only record the performance which is unique and won't ever be performed the same again
Two things I noticed with this video. Title says "all you need is Korg" except, obvious use of filters and something off screen controlling each volca through midi. Title says "dawless" which is awesome, but what is controlling them and providing the effects?
Cheers Belail, like in the description I'm using 2 effect units offscreen (NTS-1 from Korg) for delay and reverb. Each for Volca Keys & Bass. The filter you recognized is onboard filter cutoff and there are no other midi informations or notes controlling them, except clock information from Retrokits RK-004. Each Volca is running their own sequence, no DAW 🤙
Sometimes TH-cam recommends gems like this! Man, you really know how to play the Korgs! You inspire me to dust them of and have some fun with them again!
This is pure inspiration sauce. It shows your talent and plenty of practice time that went into it. Very impressive. This tune would get a full club up and into another dimension in no time. Thank you.
Thank you for this awesome demonstration of what one can do with these little boxes. You convinced me that the Korg Volcas are not just toys but real instruments and that's the reason why I bought some of them (bass, keys, sample, drum & beats). I have so much fun with these volcas though I'm far away from mastering them. I've seen many volca jams on TH-cam and Instagram but your jams are on the absolute top level. You're the grandmaster. Thank you for your amazing inspiring videos.
I got the Sample Beats and FM and Mixer. I brought the BEATS 1st just to use as a fancy Metronome to go with my guitars Smh. Volcas are NOT TOYS!! Yes. They are small and lack a few things...I guess But I am HAPPY AF!! You can make all types of BEATS or whatever (not just EDM) Man. Joe. Frfr. I wish I had caught on to this DAWLESS VOLCA CULT years ago. Dope and Fun
Effect make so much difference on this machine. I was nearly to sell mine, but I get a KP3 and somehow I changed my mind. Very good staff anyway, really enjoyed
Nice progression, volcas are a load of fun, I've got them all & still play them after years,, I have added a keystep & microbrute, & 3 mixers, not enough hands though 😎.
Hello, it s funny to see in thé commentés, that people think volcas are toys or begginner gear,,, a lot of people dont go deep in these machines,,,, volcas are very good
A quick glance at MIDI. Sicne these 4 can sequence link via the patch cable, would you only need one midi through to keep all their clocks synced? Not talking about time shifts or staggering like your midi. Just say I plug a midi IN from my box into the main Volca and then just sync link all of them to that Volca, would they all theoretically just follow that Volca via link which is now MIDI controlled?
@@Mr.nobody-nn6nl I got rid of all mine but that did work yes. You only need the Midi out of main device into the IN on one and then just use the 1/8 inch patch cables to sync all the time :)
@@Mr.nobody-nn6nl no problem! Yeah In theory it is very simple but I often over complicate things especially with gear so it can be fussy and strange but I had so much fun rocking 4 of these little Korgs and I went super simple with just a 5 in 5 out Motu midi box and sent one “Out” to one of the Volcas and then just synced the other 3 with the time sync via the smaller 1/8 (audio jack) cable. But then it leaves 4 more midi outs I just sent to drum machines, other synths and effect pedals and it truly let the Volcas hum in a new dimension. They aren’t toys.. if you know how to use them ;)
Woah, this is dope… just getting into these volcas now, doubt I’ll ever make anything sound as good as that but this video gives me hope and mostly love these « cheap toys » so much! Good vibes, thanks for this
Thank you bro, glad you like it... Take your time, don't be harsh on yourself and have fun, then you'll get where ever you want to. But besides my sloppy approach to motivate you, just get some effects, reverb, delay, chorus etc. (for example Korg NTS-1) and you will hear a big difference immediatly. Keep it up🤙
So i just listened to it more time, and its really f. good man! This is what my plan is too, to make a volca suitcase! Only i want to make more dirty/acid music! Make mote videos its really good motivation
Yeah Behringer is doing many of us a favor with their affordable gears. As soon as they overcome the microchip shortage, amazing gear will be released. Copycats or not, I have an eye on Edge & Enigma
Resultados de traducción Resultado de traducción congratulations, it's impressive, I see the volca bass, the drum and the sample but the one on the top left, which one is it? thank you very much and congratulations ❤

Trust me, my Volca’s do not sound like this when I play them. I’m at expert level, sorta… and I create nothing like this. This is top level stuff.

@@Some_Guy_Called_Raven yes, midi is for clock syncing and dividing (like half time on the Volca Keys)
