Trust me, my Volca’s do not sound like this when I play them. I’m at expert level, sorta… and I create nothing like this. This is top level stuff.

Two things I noticed with this video. Title says "all you need is Korg" except, obvious use of filters and something off screen controlling each volca through midi. Title says "dawless" which is awesome, but what is controlling them and providing the effects?
Cheers Belail, like in the description I'm using 2 effect units offscreen (NTS-1 from Korg) for delay and reverb. Each for Volca Keys & Bass. The filter you recognized is onboard filter cutoff and there are no other midi informations or notes controlling them, except clock information from Retrokits RK-004. Each Volca is running their own sequence, no DAW 🤙

@@Satanic_Disciple yes, midi is for clock syncing and dividing (like half time on the Volca Keys)
This is wonderful music.
I mean, DAWs are terrific tools, but somewhere along the line we started to lose the core notion of simply learning how to play your instrument.

I could do some of this ...and by some i mean 2 min of music. My question is how do you remember what to do next - and what sounds work together. I mix on my laptop and i lose my place
this is the flow, how electronic music works... even playing along with old limited hardware sampler pushes a track in it's own direction, by the way a good kind of work on DAWs to sound differ from the generic VST DNA
This is so true! I went back to full minimal hardware and actualy play music with instrument. My dawn only record the performance which is unique and won't ever be performed the same again

I brought the BEATS 1st just to use as a fancy Metronome to go with my guitars

You convinced me that the Korg Volcas are not just toys but real instruments and that's the reason why I bought some of them (bass, keys, sample, drum & beats). I have so much fun with these volcas though I'm far away from mastering them. I've seen many volca jams on TH-cam and Instagram but your jams are on the absolute top level. You're the grandmaster. Take your time, don't be harsh on yourself and have fun, then you'll get where ever you want to. But besides my sloppy approach to motivate you, just get some effects, reverb, delay, chorus etc. (for example Korg NTS-1) and you will hear a big difference immediatly. Keep it up🤙

This such an awesome demonstration of what the Volcas can do, so much appreciation for showing us your skill and ingenuity in making them sound so impressive in combination. I have the Keys, FM and Sample. From what I can see you don't appear to be using any sync cables between the Volcas but you are using MIDI in to each. Is this to use a MIDI clock pulse to sync them instead? If so, what is the source your MIDI clock pulse? Many thanks and please keep up the good work.

You're right about the midi clock pulse. I'm using Retrokit's RK-004. Such a versatile little gear. One of many benifits is that divides or multiplies clock information to any connected midi cable individually. In this Video the Volca Keys for example plays a much longer sequence than is usually capable of
For me - Korg and Behringer is all what I need.
Yeah Behringer is doing many of us a favor with their affordable gears. As soon as they overcome the microchip shortage, amazing gear will be released. Copycats or not, I have an eye on Edge & Enigma
