Awesome. Some advice for the youngsters: When buying a grill, you simply cannot beat a Weber for value. You just can't. They're the best bang for buck. But.... It's 100% worth it to pony up the extra simoleons to get the bigger, nicer model. The finish on them is stellar. Much nicer and tougher. My upgrade has been out without a cover for ages and still looks great, while my old cheapie is rusting in the scrap heap, looking just like this wreck. Now I might have to restore it...

Totally agree my Weber is the best grill I own. Got the master touch also with the upgrades totally worth the extra money. I use that grill more that any other cookers I have!

I love this shit man! I've started to collect old ones around my community to restore and resell at a cheaper price so that everyone has the opportunity to grill. These things surely aren't cheap and way too much ends up in our already overflowing landfills. Great video! Liked and subbed

something enjoyable about restoring something to new. I'd have opted for the gloss high temp paint but that's a subjective choice. Looks good and most important going to cook good. Enjoy.

Great video! I just restored my Weber Smokey Mountain smoker. It was even worse than yours. I didn’t realize that it was full of water just sitting in it for 6 months or more. I had to cut the bolts out of it and replaced them all with stainless steel. Replaced the dampers, the straps that hold the water pan and grates, and replaced all three grates. To get the rust out of the bottom and top bowls I used a non-toxic product called Evapo-Rust from Harbor Freight. The rust was really bad, but with some serious elbow grease it worked very well. Like you I used high heat Rustoleum. Looks as good as yours! I enjoyed your video!

Always better to restore than to just toss it out. Last year, I did a cleanup on my Dad's Red Weber Kettle from the mid-1960s. It's back in service! I'd forgotten how hot those old-school metal handles get.
Is there a glossy version of the high-temp paint? I'm not really digging the "murdered out" matte finish. But, hey, it's not my grill. :)
