This video inspired me to restore my wife's old toothbrush
Do it
Awesome. Some advice for the youngsters: When buying a grill, you simply cannot beat a Weber for value. You just can't. They're the best bang for buck. But.... It's 100% worth it to pony up the extra simoleons to get the bigger, nicer model. The finish on them is stellar. Much nicer and tougher. My upgrade has been out without a cover for ages and still looks great, while my old cheapie is rusting in the scrap heap, looking just like this wreck. Now I might have to restore it...
Totally agree my Weber is the best grill I own. Got the master touch also with the upgrades totally worth the extra money. I use that grill more that any other cookers I have!
"We gotta fill up the tank and get the gasoline". lol 😁😁😁I love the way you edit and do your time progressions. Looks really good and clean.
Thanks buddy!
@@BBBarbecueandPits Your very welcome.
I love this shit man! I've started to collect old ones around my community to restore and resell at a cheaper price so that everyone has the opportunity to grill. These things surely aren't cheap and way too much ends up in our already overflowing landfills. Great video! Liked and subbed
That’s awesome bud. These are great grills and have been around forever for a reason. Restoring them really isn’t too bad either, as you probably know. Thanks for the sub! Planning on some new content coming this summer
something enjoyable about restoring something to new. I'd have opted for the gloss high temp paint but that's a subjective choice. Looks good and most important going to cook good. Enjoy.
Thanks for watching! Yeah looking back I should went with the gloss but hey live and learn lol
Great video! I just restored my Weber Smokey Mountain smoker. It was even worse than yours. I didn’t realize that it was full of water just sitting in it for 6 months or more. I had to cut the bolts out of it and replaced them all with stainless steel. Replaced the dampers, the straps that hold the water pan and grates, and replaced all three grates. To get the rust out of the bottom and top bowls I used a non-toxic product called Evapo-Rust from Harbor Freight. The rust was really bad, but with some serious elbow grease it worked very well. Like you I used high heat Rustoleum. Looks as good as yours! I enjoyed your video!
Thanks for watching! Yeah I know it’s so rewarding to bring something back that you thought you would never use again. I’m constantly looking on fb marketplace for rusty grills to restore. You can really find some deals that other people would pass up
Them tires have got another 50,000 miles on them rock ‘n’ roll
Looks as good or better than my 10yr old weber
Yeah buddyyyy
Always better to restore than to just toss it out. Last year, I did a cleanup on my Dad's Red Weber Kettle from the mid-1960s. It's back in service! I'd forgotten how hot those old-school metal handles get.
Is there a glossy version of the high-temp paint? I'm not really digging the "murdered out" matte finish. But, hey, it's not my grill. :)
That awesome I bet that old school Weber looks sweet! Yeah I didn’t realize it was going to turn out that way haha would have preferred the gloss
I agree. Real men rather fix it! Even if we f up at least we tried!
As far as I know, to get the gloss, you need to use vitrified enamel paint, which requires a serious amount of heat to fuse.
Way to go countering the throw-away culture 👍🏻 Love the beer too, I tried it for the first time a couple months ago - the best! Greetings from Norway 🇳🇴
Thanks for watching!!!
What he said... very good work getting the grill as good as new from a horrible condition.
This video inspired me to buy an old Weber for $20. So far spend $90 on replacement parts and cleaning supplies. $40 cheaper than buying brand new I guess I’ll use it to buy meat!
There you go 👍🏻. Use that $40 to get some good ribeye steaks!!
cleaning ....it has to be done... Thank you, Pottstown, Pa beer, bro.
Bingo haha
Good tips. I desperately need to clean mine
Very entertaining and informative..great job
Thanks!
The lawn thanks you!
Was looking for this type of video! Thanks 👍🏻
No problem. Thanks for watching!
I would have liked to see how you worked in the weber with more detail. You could just talk (voice over) while you are showing a fast (not as fast as this) video of your work.
Maybe for next restoration.
Yeah thanks for the advice. Going to continue to improve the videos each time
Great video, thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Great job on that one!
Thanks buddy!!
Good work buddy
Thanks!
Nice job!!
Thanks!!!
This hdr video is insanely bright
Love it!
Thanks sir!
I enjoy your videos you work hard you teach me a lot
Thanks for the kind words!
Good Job
Thanks!!
Good video
Thanks!
Great job man!
Thanks!!
That was a good vidoe. Well done. I have to work on my soon as the spring develops here in NH.
Thanks buddy. Yeah it’s very rewarding to restore one that’s for sure
Great home made video😂😂
Lol thanks for watching
Great video! Thanks for taking the time and putting it together. +1 on the beer. Probably the only un molested national brand according to my research. I tried ordering there beer online. Not possible as of this comment. I sent them an email about starting a beer club for buying online. Shoot, I'd buy a monthly sub for a case.
Great job on the weber. Im about to start a restoration of an older model. Pre 3 blade, the old draft holes.
Nice! Good luck on your build and thanks for watching the video!
Dang just by cleaning makes a big improvement- learn something everyday way to go my man
Thanks!!!
Thumbnail had me thinking this was Ryan Humiston’s first attempt at TH-cam before he got swole.
Well done! Looks brand new
Thank you and thanks for watching!!
Great video... Thanks! Do you think it would be possible to install a lid bail on this style Kettle?
I think it might be tricky to do but I don’t see why not. Just have to make sure you measurements are spot on for the holes you have to drill
How much did all the cleaning products and new parts cost I would think for just a little bit more money you could've just bought a brand new one
Not really. All in it wasn’t even over $100 and I got to restore something
So you have no idea what you are talking about?
Great video! Unfortunately mine has rusted through in 3 spots where the legs are screwed in.
Mannnn that’s too bad. Time to get a new one!!
Webber Stephenson has a lifetime rust through warranty. I've used it.
What kind of paint does Weber use to get that glossy finish? I wish they sold it on their website.
Its not really a paint, they bake it on at the factory almost like a powder coat that’s why it’s so durable. I saw it on that show how’s it’s made
What’s the name of the grill cleaner you used?
Sam’s Club grill and oven cleaner. Comes in a 3 pack at Sam’s Club. That stuff is great
Where do you like to buy the weber replacement parts?
So they have some decent knock off parts on amazon that are a little cheaper. But if you want the real thing they have replacement parts on Weber’s website
Awesome, many thanks!
where you find the bottom vent blades??
Weber has them on their website under replacement parts. But you can also find some cheaper ones on Amazon. I put some Amazon ones on my personal Weber and they work great
I have the same Weber grill , where can I buy the replacement parts?
www.weber.com/US/en/parts--et--support/replacement-parts/charcoal-parts/
How many times did he say totally?
Totally
With the right size drill bit you can drill the rivet out to remove the vent, it is common knowledge.
Lol yeah might have been easier that way. It was so rusted it only took a sec to pull it out anyway
Power sander will remove the rust of the triangle base …. No paint required
Good tip I’ll have to try that next time 👍🏻
I just would have bought another Weber grill! Too much trouble.....
Still cheaper to go this route. A little hard work never hurts lol
@@BBBarbecueandPits Nothing like a "NEW" Webber.
Price of the resrauration : price of a new BBQ
To restore maybe $100 , new like $230
Not really. They're easily $139 for a basic 22 inch before tax and shipping. Plus this helps to keep it out of a landfill or scrap yard that'll just contribute to pollution.
The mat black looks like poop! 🤦🏻♂️
Yeah probably should have used a gloss black but hey at least the rust is taken care of
Worst bbq I ever owned. Never again.
The Weber 22” Master Touch is the best grill I own
Not worth the trouble. By the time you buy all those products, cheaper to buy a new grill. I got one to clean. You want to buy it cheap.
OR instead of contributing to a disposable culture you can just restore something so it doesn't wind up in a landfill.
@@Lezperadoagree
These are inexpensive grills, not worth it to replace parts and restore. Plus the ash plate is a bad design, upgraded models with the ash bin are more convenient and safer.
Why contribute to a disposable culture when it can be refurbished and put to good use? I wouldn't say that they're inexpensive either. They start at $139 before tax and where I'm at that's just over $150.
My friend was about to throw away his twice used Weber grill that for some reason he took apart and lost the hardware that held the legs on. I took it off his hands and bought 3 hex screws and three washers for $3. I’d say it was definitely worth to replace the parts rather than buying brand new.
@@Keef_Chief86 That's not restoration or replacing worn parts. Your friend was negligent, lost hardware and had to fix the mistake.
@@baseballhunter42 your first comment says, “not worth it to replace parts and restore”. It’s have not restored it, but I definitely replaced parts.
@@Keef_Chief86 You replaced minor hardware lost. Great comparison, like you're 6 and just replaced a light bulb. Loud mouth attention seeker.
чувак просто помыл из шланга гриль. Это реставрация?)))
