I do like the odd colors so I'm all for the light coffee colored LNER tank engine and I'm sure you can tell how I spell "color" that I'm from the States and we have knuckle couplers with our HO scale trains so no problems with realism, but I can appreciate Accurascale's solution. Some clear plastics don't turn yellow so let's hope they done their homework. Stay warm, Jersey Bill
Hi Jersey Bill thanks for the comment as always! Yes the LNER is very tempting will have to see how far my budget can stretch but at the same time it is coming next year so should have plenty of time to save up 😊 and it’s interesting the differences to model railwaying or should say railroading between here in the UK and our friends across the pond state side. And this is true and knowing Accurascale I’m sure they have but can’t wait to hit a show this year and be able to ask more questions in person 😊👍
Hi Thank you for the comment and it’s the one I’m really tempted for just down to the unusual cab, I’m in too minds do I go all out for one and get DCC sound or do I get both and just get the DC and chip them at a later date 🤔 which version have you gone for? 😊👍
@ I got the DC one as all my locomotives are DC you could buy the DC ones and chip them yourself but will possibly cost the same in the end as just buying the DCC ones if you use the chip from Accurascale that’s fitted
@ cool, and yes granted long term it will cost me more but I’m thinking short term means I can get both livery options. Guess it depends if I get my layout fully DCC operational
@@YorkshireRailways if chipping them later then going for two DC models is fine that would be how I would do it as I’ve not got a big budget so can get the locomotives just chip them when I can
@ what I tend to do is set myself a budget each month. But I tend to buy from Rails of sheffield my local shop but they allow you to buy outright pre orders so I either go in and pay a bit off each time or ill buy them outright whilst I have the cash 😊👍
@YorkshireRailways I sold 100 locos last year and that was one of them. It was identical. I bought it because I collect military and it was sand coloured from it's war service. I haven't decided on the Accurascale version because I have at least 8 models of this type: 7 are different LMR types
Harry, great video bud, glad to see you bundled up a bit 🤣 okay so, I like the innovative approach to coupling, HOWEVER, I am quite concerned about just how translucent these are, from the photos they almost look a bit misty? If so they will look even worse at eye height than the original black ones. I also have the khaki LNER version on pre order. Couldn’t resist something different 👍 keep well brother
Ey up Hylton thank you so much! And yes the weather is still all over at the minute I thought things were starting to warm up but then it has gone cold again 😂 that’s something I did notice as well, I’m hoping to get an in person look when I decide which exhibition I want to go to this year to ask them in person about these concerns 😊 and that’s great to hear I’m sure it will look amazing shunting around Dunromin! I’m still undecided between the LNER or NE NCB but I know I want to go for the full sound DCC now I have got my hands on a controller. You as well my friend! 😊👍
I guess the coupling plastic is a injection grade plastic and probably not going to react to uv, like the rubbery fone case plastic does to sunlight and to oil and grease off your hands!
Hi John thank you for the comment, I’m sure Accurascale will have done much research into this before manufacturing but will be interesting to see long term 😊👍
Hi Thanks for the comment! And that’s true I never really thought about that as a factor. It is great to see new innovation made even if it’s simple 😊👍

Hello Mucka 😂

Love accurascale 😊
I’m yet to try a locomotive from them but have heard amazing things. My Class 60 or Class 50 will be the first 😊👍
I went for the NE NCB one in black but the LNER one looks good to wish I’d the funds to buy it as well

I had the LNER in desert sand made by Dapol. I only sold it a few months ago.
Hi thanks for the comment, that’s great to know! Have you sold to go for the Accurascale or just not wanting the model anymore?

accurascale said it would come with some black ones aswell
Hi thank you for the comment! And thanks for the insight I obviously missed that 😊👍

I shouldn't worry about yellowing. There is no reason they should be any worse then the windows in locos and rolling stock
