    I've been using the Razer Naga Epic since 2011 and the orginal Naga before that. I haven't wanted to make any upgrades since then because I would be losing features. Either I'd be giving up the 12 button side or I'd be giving up the dual mode wired/wireless. This is the first real option for me in 10 years and I'm looking forward to taking that jump and spending the money for this.

    I really appreciated the sound test: it seems a bit on the loud side, so would you still advise it in a productivity environment where everything would be close to silent apart from the mouse click?
    Now, tough question: I know this is compatible with macOS but synapse isn’t. There’s a utility out there for Mac users but I wonder: how do the different side-buttons map natively on Mac?
    I used to have the Naga Molten edition back in the days and it had a switch to map between top row numbers or numpad.

    The Naga Pro does get mentioned as one of the best gaming mice even in 2023. Personally I skipped over it because I am not a fan of wireless mice. Batteries add weight and the chance of the battery dying mid game would only bring me frustration and aggravation. So I went with the wired version of this mouse, the Razer Naga Trinity. It comes with the same 2 button and 12 button side plates but instead of the 6 button setup the Naga pro has, the Trinity comes with a 7 button ring plate. Its that setup that I am most looking forward to because it would place 7 buttons equidistant from my thumb. I wish the Naga pro kept that design, it seems the most useful to me.

    I have a
    Naga Epic Chroma and its a mess of a mouse. Its unreliable and buggy causing the cursor to jump all over my screen after about an hour of use. And now its dead(probably the battery). Even before it died i had reverted back to my far far superior Logitech MX Master(2015). And its till going strong. After some months (possibly) of using this mouse, has it become an unbearable mess like the Naga Epic Chroma(which there are a few of "Fix this problem with your naga" videos on youtube)? Has there been any glitch's, or things of concern? Did you buy this yourself or did you get send a golden sample form Razer? All those features are great, but only if they last. I'm using a 6 year old mouse that lasts for weeks (maybe even months) still on a single charge while my Naga is dead. If Logitech ever made anything similar(but only the 12 buttons) i would gladly pay the asking price (unless its like $200, then i'd wait for a good sale, my mamma didn't raise no fool!). But i really miss the 12 macros and side click mouse wheel!! i had the slide clicks mapped to jump left and right through my tabs in my browser!

    Mouse scroll stopped working today on my Naga Pro and i feel they have done it on purpose. It's outside warranty so I cant RMA. I took it apart (i work in I.T) and completely cleaned / reseated all the cables. Everything functions as expected APART FROM THE SCROLL WHEEL JUST NOT WORKING. I can click down on the mouse wheel, works fine. The two buttons by moving the mousewheel itself left or right also works fine.
    I genuinely feel this is a ploy to get consumers to purchase a new mouse. I can't even order a replacement mouse wheel or the mouse wheel cable. This mouse cost $300 where I live so you'd think it can last longer than 1.5 years.
    Can anyone offer advice? Thanks

    • @ZireNag
      @ZireNag 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      A very late response but just in-case it's of use to your or others; using standard bluetooth is significantly slower than using the provided dongle. This is often true with any mouse, however for this specific mouse the data transfer delays are as follow.
      Wired 3.0 ms
      Included Receiver 3.5 ms
      Bluetooth 11.9 ms
      As we are down to very low micro second figures, the delays won't be humanly perceptible. However, across all hardware the delays do begin to build up without even considering potential multiplayer server traffic ping delays. With all these delays reductions combined, you'll begin to feel the difference. With just the one devices improved data speeds, though not perceptible, you will in fact be marginally more responsive.

    After watching Razer's video a few times, reading 2 articles (reviews) and watching this video I have a few things to say:
    I see this as an upgrade to the Razer Naga Trinity, but not in every way. Let's start with the pros:
    1. It is wireless
    2. It has mulitiple ways of connecting it to your computer
    3. Optical Switches (on the 2 main buttons at least?)
    Now the cons:
    1. You don't get a charging dock with it
    2. The 7 button layout is gone
    3. There isn't RGB on the 2 and 6 button layout
    4. It's pretty expensive
    5. The 12 button layout is still a mess
    So yes it is upgraded, but also downgraded in certain ways and I don't see any reason for it.
    Yes I like RGB, that's one of the reasons I buy Razer products, and let's keep it real that's one of their biggest selling points.
    If I bought this mouse I would use the 6 button layout, which has no RGB, which on top of that is less aesthetically pleasing compared to the 7 button layout.
    That being said, I understand the switch to the 6 button layout, more grip for your thumb etc. I personally just prefer the 7 button layout.
    The Razer Naga Trinity is also infamous for the left button issue (double click, or no click at all) which is why I returned it in the first place after a few months.
    Razer now claims to use optical switches, so hopefully the newest addition to the Naga family is now useable and doesn't suffer from the same issue.
    But still, I don't think I would spend my money on this mouse.

    • @Rayden975
      @Rayden975 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MiniSkuse no idea. if the shape is identical it might click right on and fit nicely, but I wonder if the software inside the Naga Pro will work correctly with this old side from the Trinity. Difficult to estimate since the Naga Pro is so new. If it actually works it would be awesome for sure.

    • @Rayden975
      @Rayden975 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MiniSkuse I've compared some pictures. The overall shape of the panels from the Naga Trinity and the Naga Pro seems to be identical, and there are also 4x4 "pins" (i don't know what to call them) in both mice. It now seems likely that a panel from the naga trinity will work with the naga pro, maybe even the RGB on the 7-button layout (which the Naga Pro for some reason does not have).

    • @MiniSkuse
      @MiniSkuse 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rayden975Thanks for replying again; that's really interesting.
      I hope someone tries this because it sounds like it would actually work.
      I'm trying to decide between buying the Blackwidow v2 TE or this, but I can't really decide. I'm probably just going to get the keyboard though because I also have a pretty nice mouse, the G Pro Wireless.
      Logitech also has the best warranty policy ever; they don't even ask you to send back your mouse if it's faulty (if they can see that there is a clear fault). For the price of one GPW, I got two working ones (I contacted them because m1 and m2 were scraping slightly, but it can be easily fixed with sandpaper).
      Also, I'm pretty sure the "pins" are called "pogo pins", so you were close.

    I currently have all wireless stuff and rarely use them wirelessly. AT A DESK, besides aesthetics, I don't see the point in wireless for gaming. There are too many cons over wired (ie. . My slipstream cuts out every so often when I do use it). Wireless for a multimedia setup in the living room or something of the sort is great. Now, for productivity and the ability to use something like Logitech Flow or switch between setups at the office or even for sake of portability I totally get why people would buy wireless.
