    The corsair RGB strip seems pretty awesome! I'm not sure why they don't also put some sort of USB A/C lead in the box so you can use them outside of a PC case. I can't find well diffused RGB strips like those that have a USB power cord (or even blank power leads for splicing into your own power supply of choice).

      Press Windows Key + G to bring up Windows Gaming Overlay. You can use the volume widget to control all of your volume levels with ease. That has pretty much the same functionality as PC Panel and it's free. Most gaming keyboards already have plenty of macros support.

      Look into nk2tray. It lets you use a midi controller for volume and media control, basically what the pcpanel does but with more features and more knobs. I use the behringer xtouch mini and it has 8 knobs, 1 slider for overall volume, 8 mute buttons and media control.

    The PCPanel thing is pretty neat. I remember first hearing about it. Other alternatives that can do similar functions would be midi controllers repurposed for use with a PC to control that stuff. Using software such as NK2tray (with a Korg NanoKontrol2 midi controller) or midi-mixer with any midi controller, you could control the volumes of anything in the windows volume mixer super easy. It's really nice.

    • @Pflanze
      @Pflanze 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love the MIDI Mixer program. I can never go back from that now. The functionality and ease of use is just super amazing, and the Discord community for it is so helpful. I use a Behringer X-Touch Mini with it, but as you say, MIDI Mixer can be used with any midi controller. Even the Elgato Stream Deck can be used with it, when you install a midi plugin for it.

    Lots of interesting things here, the real life changer for me has been my acquisition of a KVM switch, I got it to hook up to my work laptop and gaming PC so I don't have to change the keyboard/mouse/monitor cables around multiple times a day and I would think it kinda qualifies for this list. Inexpensive Midi controllers generally will cost about as much as the PCPanel, at least if you add MIDI Translator Pro to it, but they tend to have more controls as well. Most of that solution also works for the Arduino, where you get to specify which CC and which channel it outputs to.
