So you just bought your brand new (or new to you) Focus ST and you are wondering what are the little tips and tricks this thing can do. In this video I demonstrate 6 things you can do in this car that are someone well known and not so much.
This videos is really for new focus st owners and not those who have been on the forums for a long time researching and figuring things out. The focus st has a fast restart feature and an auto off feature that can really come in handy for people.
If you don't know, the Focus ST is a 2.0l (liter) ecoboost 4 cylinder turbo monster packing 252hp (horsepower) and 270 lb-ft of torque. The ST is a beast and is such a blast to drive. These features should also work with the ford focus rs too! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ

Great video. Didn't know about the rear wiper. Cool! FYI: The 2018 ST has a decal on the visor showing that you can slide it to the right. Also, yes, I can verify the radio will turn off after about 10 minutes. I didn't time it exact, but I estimate about 10 minutes.

One i just found was,(1)say once you arrive at your destination at night and have the auto lights on. After you turn the car off pull the high beam stock and it will turn the lights off. (2)Do the same thing to turn the lights on for a minute when the car is completely off, i dont think you need the key to do this.

i bought my car in 14, i've had it since, and I never knew about the visor, never noticed the pen /card clips, and had no clue what the gas can insert was. Good stuff.

So how do I turn off the day time running lamps when i come to a stop. Say at home in the driveway. No matter what I do. There is always some kind of lights on in front. 2015 st3

There are so many exhausts. I suggest going to CJ Pony Parts website and checking some out. I have the AWE (I recommend this, I have vids on the channel) my best friend has the Agency Power exhaust, there is the Borla exhaust and so much more.

What's up man I got my st about 3 weeks ago a white st3 17 love it. Question is their a oil life gauge ?
+Jorge Cruz Hey Jorge. Not that I know of. The system will tell you that it's time for maintenance but it's based on miles if I'm correct.
My Focus S with no cruise control, and manual rear windows also has a slidey drivers side sun visor. The focus S and ST/RS interiors are pretty much exactly the same, just you may have SYNC with the tiny 3" screen, or the SYNC3 with the touch screen and the ST3 with the same interior but with the recaro seats, and ST guage cluster and a few extra climate buttons. The ESC button and heated steering wheel button is just replaced with 2 little card holders on the S and SE trim. Like obviously, the S and ST interiors may be way different but ones just the bare bones base model like my S then the ST/RS have all the extra touches like recaro seats, the D shape wheel and so on.
I have a 2012 focus sle everything in this video is the same as all models with the exeptions of what options of the interior you get

Here's another, if you lift up the windshield wipers (like you're gonna wash the car) and put them back out of the place, the car will automatically reposition them next time you start it.
Also, all these features are standard Focus features, not limited to the ST and RS.
Yes! Another wiper tip. If you have the car ON but not running, hold down the wiper stock and the front wipers will stay in the up position. I think this feature is in the manual but i forgot what its actually used for. Maybe easier access to prop the wipers up in the winter?

If the key is outside the running vehicle, could someone enter the drivers side and drive it away without the key being in the car or on the driver ??

A lot of these features are Ford-wide. I had a base Fiesta that did a lot of them. Not trying to take from the video, just letting you know! Fun fact: my fiesta didn't have automatic lights, I had to turn a dial to turn them on...yet if you turn the car off the headlights shut off anyways to prevent the car from draining battery all night. The orange parking lights still stay on, so it's not 100% effective on Ford's behalf, but it actually did save me from having a dead battery multiple times!

Just got my 2017 Magnetic Metallic ST! Coming from a '12 Speed 3. Only 14miles on the ODO, haven't really got into the turbo yet. Heard good things so far.

TORQUE & TECH The clutch feel/take up is Amazingly smooth!! Getrag manual if I read correctly (?)
Can't believe the difference from my 2012 Speed3. It feels slightly stiffer over bridge expansion gaps but I can cope. I like it a lot although I'm driving it like grandma...haha, until I break it in a bit more. It's definitely has less room in the hatch than the Speed3 which I'm ok with. Haven't really got into the boost much but I'm sure it'll bring a smile to my face just as the Speed3 did albeit, I hope, with a little less torque steer..lol. Here's to hoping it lasts 5yrs.

Awesome can't wait until you really start getting into the boost to see how it compares. I've seen vids on the speed3 and I think you'll find torque steer to be managed better on the ST. I really want to drive a speed3 haha.

The early ST's were hit or miss with the driver sun visor, some had them and some didn't. Thankfully I got one!!!

Really want a cat back system for my car, but i dont want to void my 8 year turbo warranty.... Best explanation i got from the dealer was "mountune catbacks 'should' be okay because we have a partnership with them" should?...uh... i dont want to have it done just for another service tech to tell me my warranty is void for mod parts...
+5dmc1 My dealer actually was cooler than that. They said exhaust parts are fine as long as it's from the catback. With yours being different, I would take their advice. Was this the head of the service department that told you this?
Also check and see if they will not void warranty of the Mountune parts with them installing or you. Usually Mountune parts need to be installed by the dealer to not void warranty.

Question: In my '17 FoST base model(it was already removed too)there was a placard(?) that I assume was affixed to the headrest part of the seat. It seems to show the ability of the actual headrest itself to be tilted forward and adjusted. I just can't seem to get it to do this. Anyone else get this placard? It shows a sideview of the headrest and seat.
You should be able to grab the top of the headrest to tilt it forward and back.

You forgot something. The button with the figure of a slide car activates your sport mode and if you hold it you can deactivate the automatic stabilization system

I love this! I think you'll absolutely love this car. Learning manual is very easy you just have to immerse yourself into it. If you lived close by I would be happy to teach you haha. There are a ton of great videos on TH-cam that will help for sure.

The st is a great car to learn how to drive a manual. It has hill assist. Which the hardest part of driving a manual is having to start on a hill, so the st makes it easier

+SrZx10 You can't use a smartphone for it. You have to use a PC to program. The smartphone app only allows you to monitor.

252 hp monster lol, sure if your used to 150-180 hp. Only problem is only Ford over rates their power compared to ALL other manufacturers by using 93/94 octane fuel. On the usual 91,its around 235-237 hp and 255 tq. And its slow!!!!. My 2019 Honda Civic Sport 175 hp 1.5L will keep up with a Focus ST under full throttle and my sisters 2019 Honda Accord Sport touring with 205 hp smokes the ST. In fact you need a FBO stg 3 Foc ST to keep up with stock Accord Sport.
You can do a full system test. Get in, push and hold the "ok" and "right arrow button" of left steering arm, then just push tne start button to partial accessories, "don't start the car".... Then watch the center display between tach and speedo, for the words "Test Mode", then release the steering wheel buttons you where holing. This process takes 7 to 10 seconds. Then scroll through all the kool modes that do a test of everything, using the arrow button on same left side of steering wheel.
