That 5-pot sound always gets me wanting one even more. Been looking, on & off, for three years now. Never anything local to me. Always loads in bloody Stoke-on-Trent. Good advice though, mate 👍
Cheers buddy yea they do sound good just finding a good one is getting harder and harder but sometimes a road trip is worth it I drove over 100 miles for this one lol
@@Yodaracing1 You’ve got a good one there. Saw an orange ST2 in Tesco’s car park on Friday night. I was like “I want one of them”. My kids thought I was nuts 😂
@@Yodaracing1 Agreed. I either want a performance blue or electric orange. Would prefer the latter. But like ya say it’s the lacquer peel. Just keeping an eye on the prices at the mo. I find the classifieds are overpriced and take ages to sell. Auctions on eBay are seeing things move for less though.
One big thing you missed was water leaks...the seamwelds under the roof trims crack and let water into the boot this is something all mk2 focus can suffer otherwise spot on 👍🏼
Cracking video mate , very informative , wish I had watched a vid like urs before I bought mine a while back , but we live and learn I guess , , good vid mate
Got a orange mk2 myself, good ones are hard to find and took alot of looking at abused examples to find mine. Other than having to spend alot on fuel to really enjoy the 2.5 5pot engine theyre a great car and if looked after and using decent parts warmed up and cooled down they can last reasonably well. Mines had the rs clutch and block mod aswell as afew upgrades and add ons and it literally gives you smiles by the gallon. Great drivers car.
Yes I agree mate it’s a shame that the orange ones suffer with laquer peel but other than they they are great cars I love mine luckily mine isn’t my daily I probbaly do about 20 miles a week lol but your right if u don’t abuse them they are sweet
Should a well looked after Mk2 St with 159k km on the clock be a GOOD buy, are there any things that give out at that mileage and if so how much would it cost to be fixed? Looking to buy one soon so I want to know as much as possible.
Just bought a stock 2005 st . Had it mapped and now the clutch is just slighly slipping. How much is the rs clutch and would it be worth doing anything else like the flywheel.
I disconnected my bonnet catch the change the badge, once I replaced the batch I closed the bonnet without reconnecting the little ball at the back so bonnet was locked 😢😅

@@NYChemicalRomance 🤣🤣 orange ones are the best colour but finding one with not much laquer peel is getting harder and harder

Ahh cheers mate 👍🏻
Great video very useful information, another fault with these cars is alot suffer from a loose drivers seat as mine did its very annoying 😫
Yea some high miles one can nicely spotted
RS Clutch and Hardrace mounts are hands down the best upgrades I've done, car felt solid after (but vibrates like fook on idle).
Yea hard mounts aren’t for everyone lol
Great video cheers mate gettong a mk2 next week

Like any car really depends how much it’s been looked after plenty of them out there tbf just take your time

Try Matt Lewis or wayside performance as for the flywheel unless it’s been changed recently I would change that aswell whilst it’s apart
I've seen quite a few selling for around £2000 is that something that should be avoided ? What's a good price range to look within? Cheers 👍
They don’t fetch much but obvs u get what u pay for I would be wary at one for 2k 3k-4 should get a half decent one
@@Yodaracing1 Nice one, I'm hoping to pick one up this year but not going to rush into it. Cheers for the reply 👍
I got one for 2k. It blew up soon after 🤣 recommend saving a bit more and going for a better one.

Not so much the ST the Rs used to get stolen a lot but it’s mainly the mk3 ones
