    Being born in Essex I can say that Essex has changed A LOT and will continue to do so.
    Even in the last few years alone, the traffic on the roads and population has increased gigantically and many green spaces are having homes built on them. My point is, Essex or the south of Essex will very soon be like London which is a shame.

    I moved from dagenham to just outside southend and i was shocked how different it is. I feel a lot safer and calmer here but i definitely miss how lively london is

      I get what you mean…it’s definitely a very different kind of lifestyle! But don’t you appreciate the fact that London’s still not too far away when you want/need to go there?

      I'm so confused. Is Dagenham as safe as Barking? As to me, personally, I think Barking is the scariest place in London. So I'm sure I'm missing something here

    And whats wrong with Eastgate? From Basildon, all in about 20 min drive, you've got Wickford, Billericay, Brentwood & Chelmsford. Plenty of places to eat & drink. Night clubs in Brentwood & Basildon, not forgetting Festival Park with it's multiplex Cinema. eateries etc (Cranes Farm Road) then you've got Eastgate & the Town Centre, Pitsea Market.
    For when you want real peace and quiet you've got Wat Tylers & Lake Meadows. At Wat Tyler go right down to the end to the Creek for the most peaceful area.
    I used to drive from Rainham Essex to Shepherds Bush/Hammersmith regularly. And I used to date a girl living in Streatham and one that used to live in Balham and another that lived near West Ham Park, on The Portway side. We used to drink in the Toby Tavern, but thats gone now. It only took my 35-40 minutes to drive from Rainham to King Street Hammersmith, but that was in the days before Sadiq Khan and his stupid 20 mph limits. A couple of years ago it took me 50 mins to drive from Billericay to the O2 arena even using Thames Gateway (A13)

    Basildon being southern Essex is nearly as close to Greater London as you can get so you are not really getting a experience vastly different to Greater London. Basildon is one of the cheapest parts of Essex so you will get a lot larger house then in other places like Billericay, Chelmsford, Southend, Brentwood etc. Also you mention Bluwater (Kent) and LakeSide (Thurrock / Grays) but do not mention Eastgate which is the shopping precinct for your new home town. Also the A127/A12 are notorious for bad traffic so not sure why you dont think there is any in Essex, did you measure it during pandemic time.

    Where I live in Essex is really nice but is sadly changing and becoming like east London. I think in a few years time it will be ruined like lots of parts of London have. It’s so sad to see what is happening to what was once a beautiful country.

    Hi, great video. As a child I lived in East London, hated it. Wished for house with garden in nice area and we got it. I loved living there it was quiet in Becontree Essex. The 1970s, 1980s were the best times there imo. As got older it became a pain when had to work and get a bus to the station to get into London, which could take up to 2hr journey one way. Then I wished I had lived near a train tube station. Then in my 30s got a place literally a minute or less from the tube station with everything close by in South East London. Which was great for me for a few years. But now in my 50s, I am fed up with all the hustle n bustle of crowds, dirt, fumes traffic etc. As live just off a main rd. I would like to move back to Essex for calm, freedom, better air quality.
    I think living in London has affected my health over time as its gone downhill as have several health issues now. The crime rate is high here now. But seems to be across the country though...

  • @AmyWinehouse.914
    @AmyWinehouse.914 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've lived in The Eastend of London or Essex all my life and Essex if far nicer in my view but more and more places being built means more traffic and more schools etc.... being needed.There's plans to build hundreds of homes, a school and medical center on Canvey so that will put more pressure on the huge roundabout at Saddlers farm and from there leading to places like Basildon and into London.Having more people means more pressure on local schools,hospitals,roads and employment,new electricity and sewage being needed and Canvey is prown to flooding and because Canvey can be a nighmare getting on and off the island many folk move out. I wouldn't live on Canvey if you paid me.Thurrock council has more or less gone bust and has had to ask for a government bail out Their council leader Rob Gledhill resigned, saying "The political buck stops with me".The local authority's chief executive Lyn Carpenter, who had been on extended leave since the government intervention, announced her resignation last week. Fobbing for example is in Thurrock and really nice,exensive and peaceful yet only across from Basildon which depending on what part you live can be horrible.The St Martins area is terrible for crime and that covers the town centre and Gloucester park and has a high number of burglaries.There's some horrible run down places in Basildon too if you're unfortunate enough to have to visit The Craylands Estate you might want to wipe your feet on the way out.The only words they know how to read are McDonalds,pizza,beer,spliff,dog and benefits office.However feel free to have a look at "lovely" Jaywick th-cam.com/video/V-YX3Rx-D0E/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=MARKWHITING

      Colchester has grammar schools if your child is able to pass 11+ exam, I was born in London no chance I would ever consider moving there. Majority of people here work in City, from Shenfield 30 mins. North Essex is more rural much more difficult to travel in every day City,
