- Our family stumbles into Monument Valley on the Navajo Nation. We were driving between Moab and the Grand Canyon and could not resist stopping to check out this amazing wonder of nature. The planet we live on is full of such spectacularly beautiful places.
Wow guys! Really like that scenery! Love what you've done with your pictures, that dark, forbidding sky really makes them pop. Good work! Greetings from Perth, West Australia. Cheers, Frank.
Hey Frank. Good to hear from you again. Thanks. Hope you are doing well. Jason
I'm glad you enjoyed my reservation , the Navajo Diné Nation 👍🏽💯
Yes! Thank you for sharing this with us. Next time I go, I am going to plan better and have time to hire a guide to see this amazing creation with the knowledge of someone who knows it well. It is a special place. ~Jason
@@averageguyphotography Yes sir. It is a remarkable place full of rich history. We Diné, always welcome vistors to experience the majestic and spiritual landscape. Another place I would highly recommend is Canyon de Chelly.
I very much liked how you described the transition from narrow canyons to the wide expanse of Monument Valley as I could picture it happening as you drove along. Your beautiful photos brought back the feel of the heat coming off the rocks and carried along by the wind, along with the smell of the desert plants. Thank you

Thanks for the compliment. I sure do find that place amazing and beautiful. It’s amazing to all the senses.
My daughter and I took turns getting our pictures taken at the John Ford point. The horse's name is Spirit. She was very good and just stood still there at the point for the epic shot.
Hi! I read your comment to my daughter and she perked up with excitement. Yes, she confirmed, the horse was Spirit. She was excited to share the experience. Glad you were able to get the shot.
First
Ha ha! Congrats.
How many people were in the middle of the road?
I think the number of people varied. When we first got there, I think only 5 or 6 people. Then several large families and groups stopped and it was more then 20. If we were patient, which we were not this day, then we could have had the road to ourselves.
@@averageguyphotography did anyone get honked at?
Yes! As a matter of fact a big dump truck with an air horn really made people jump. It was kind of funny. It is an active highway however.
@@averageguyphotography wow! lol! Did your kids get honked at to?
Ha ha! No, but they were very cautious.
