I've tried to take the edge off this serious topic by adding some humour to this one.
This is more a conversational topic & me learning along the way, with the odd nod to Tony Scott, Oliver Stone & Francis Ford Coppola..

I have spent months over the last decade trail running though the golden triangle regions above Chiang Mai. Seen a lot of self described tough guys wilt in the heat, humidity and very tough jungle terrain. Ran with an Iraq vet still in peak conditions in his mid 30s and had to carry him off the ghost trail to the road. He was going all the way down from the doi back to the city no wonder the us lost the Vietnam war with the similar rough terrain. In the hidden trails I encountered Burmese militia, drug and human traffickers and myriad snakes , wild boars, monkeys and scorpions. I think most normies would perish in half a day up there. I’ve befriended completely two Karan villages and reckon I could hand out there and add security to them too.

At least you started at the most important point - no oil 😆 .. I worry about two things - invaders over the border and nuclear winter. Other than that, we're safe up here in Isaan. We can't have guns but we can have bows and traps. Nuclear winter? At least it won't be hot 🤣
