Smart man Steve is. I only swap the motor on replacements if the flanges are not leaking or are corroded. If the Taco pump is black, it is the original that comes with the boiler. It's painted black intentionally so the distributors/suppliers don't remove them from the packaging and sell them separately. I'm just saying for those who didn't know.
They are painted black to designate it's "OEM" and carries the same warranty as the Boiler (usually 1-Year), and not the standard 3-Year Warranty from Taco. Manufacturers can buy them really cheap because they purchase in bulk and only need to offer 1/3 of the regular warranty.
"Let's see, said the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw". Years ago I had my friend so confused with that saying. He was like "It makes no sense, how can a blind man see?" It was pretty funny.
You change circulators as fast as I slice Deli meat! Hey they have a potentially working circulator and they can watch your video and fix it themselves next time. Yah I've got a flying night squirrel (Gremlins) in attic

Why not Just change the circulator at that point
There might be a possibility of the mating surfaces being warped or damaged. Plus the circulator has been in operation for years and years.
Nice tech tip on the feeder Steve

Yeah if he left it there. If not he has a used one for hi next job. Notice he took the 4 screws. Quite a profit. Huh?
@@gem1967 no, generally, they leave it, or if it's broke they take it. Oh yee of little faith.
@@gem1967 He put the 4 screws in a zip lock bag! For the customa, Who knows! haha -Save America!
What a waste of time. I’d change the whole pump
Well that the difference between an experienced master technician and a novice. You really do not understand why he did as he did? If not you will…LOL
