I realized today how far gone I was. I burnt myself with a 450 degrees C solder and was like, you know what, I want to keep going, this board will be so cool when I finish modding it.
You're soldering at 450 degrees C, isn't that like way too hot? I usually use around 350.

I went from TKL to 65% to another 65% and then back to TKL
@@ResumedPausing I've gone from 110% to 100% to 60% to tkl I prefer to daily the 100% but for travelling the tkl is a really good compromise for me

I would absolutely put a decal of a Avtomat Kalashnikova 1947 on the back of my keyboard.
seeing the Jelly epoch SSE, makes me remember missing the GB because I forgot what time it was and I took a shower 5 minutes before the GB started, missing the GB start time.
*Protip stay at your desk at least 5 hours before a GB starts to not miss your opportunity to get one.*

Technically the crazy mount he said could work. If you used o rings as the gaskets, like really small o rings wrapped around each gasket pop out (twice, somehow), then also have magnets in the bottom to precisely counteract the weight of the pcb, plate, switches and keys, and make sure you sauter your switches and somehow, the o rings to the plate, and then put in an arduino to set servos specific to each switch to cause small centrifugal force on the board for a unique tactile experience. Maybe. Oh, with a divergence meter on the top of the board ( I have not watched steins gate, plz don’t yell at me )

That keycap set at 1:30 honestly looks really pretty. A purple custom board with some butter-smooth linear switches is honestly a dream of mine. If I do ever get into customs, that's definitely the sort of aesthetic I'll be after.

There's a solution to avoid the rabbit hole. Stop buying stuffs unless they allow you to complete this challenge : build an ANSI Azerty-fr keyboard with PBT caps. You know what... @Shoobs , I challenge you to do it. And when you'll get depressed heal your mind leaving this challenge to Glarses.
I decided that I had my endgame board a few weeks ago. This weekend I bought a new keyset and decided that I needed a new keyboard with a knob because the keyset has an artisan knob that goes with it.

The ONLY way is to stick to Topre and buckling springs. Your options are basically Unicomp, Realforce, HHKB. And maybe others but who cares? Limited options are your friend! MX style switches? That way madness lies.

Lubing switches is a good way to occupy your mind from feeling the dread and weight of reality that you have spent more on metal/plastic parts that might have cost as much as a car.
Solution: move to a country like Singapore where it costs $100k to own a car for 10 years and suddenly keyboard start to feel cheap
(crying in broke buying 10 switches each month until it fills up the entire board. oh extra money this month! i'm buying 15 switches)

Edit: I burned myself from soldering, stripped a screw for a stand-off, scratched the bun bun out of my case, scratched the Pewdiepie keyboard stabs living membrane bookie out of my keycaps, cut my hands with the damn switches, bent a couple of pins, and didn’t even finish my mission to apply foam in between my keyboards pcb and brass plate, and apply tape on the back of my pcb, AND am now left with a messy desk taunting me with the shame of leaving a build half asses and half done. I just give up I’ll do it tomorrow after I pray to got to forgive me for my drunken spendings over common rectangular office appliances.
