My father just had got one of these phones for his very first smart phone. Until now he's had a standard black flip phone. He had a accident a few years ago and damaged his neck which limit's the use of his hands and his walking. He started messing around on my tablet and asked what I thought he should get for a smart phone. I suggested a Samsung note of some kind cause they are extremely reliable phones, and because it comes with a pen which I thought might aid him when he needs to be precise on a little button.
He absolutely loves it. Fits his special needs more then any other phone. It's got great settings for people with difficulty seeing as well.
Btw he is 65 years old ik most of y'all are probably in your teens, 20s and 30s but for those of u who might have difficulty with ur hands/vision this is the phone to get
I've had almost every iPhone till this year when I switched to the Note 9. My first android, boy is it worth it. Can't say I miss apple.

@@mohammednayim How is that bullshit?? I switched from Apple after the iPhone 6. And I FELL IN LOVE with Samsung/ Android. Haven't missed Apple at all, if anything I just laugh at iPhones every year and the people who still buy them 😂

Great video, thank you! I don't know if anyone has noted this since i didn't have the desire to go over 442 previous comments, but I think I found a better way to keep your original pen color on the Lock Screen. In the Samsung Note menu you simply press the 'All Notes' menu on the right. You then press the settings icon on the top right. In the section 'Screen off Memo' you press 'Pen color for saved notes' and change it from signature color to Black. Now you can write notes with your designated color (e.g. yellow) on the lock screen, but the note will appear in Samsung Notes in black. Good luck! and thanks again :)

Great comment, thank you! I don't know if anyone else has noted this since i didn't have the desire to go over 508 previous comments, but I think I haven't found a better comment explaining the way to keep your original pen color on the Lock Screen.

Using the s pen as a remote shutter is clutch. When I go hiking it'll be nice to set my phone on a tripod and remote shoot a picture!
It's actually as easy to set audio control to on then just say 'Shoot' or 'Cheese'.
Definitely better if you are operating hand held - less vibration!

Yep. My carrier had a 2 weeks wait, though.
One thing I will be missing is the side app drawer, though. Good that there are third party apps for that.

Droid, a really good coverage of the magnificent s-pen. A feature you didn’t mention in Air Command is the scroll capture which is a part of the screen write feature. It is exceptionally useful for taking a capture of a list which in a web page stretches over several pages. Normally you can only capture as far as the bottom of the screen. If you want to capture long lists, you need to take several captures and somehow stitch them together. With the scroll feature your capture of long lists or articles is easily accomplished. Yours is an excellent coverage otherwise. I hope it encourages people to buy the Note and use the magical s-pen extensively.

Kingz Leez You know from observing these smartphones i have come to the conclusion that the iphone never stood a chance against the high-end Android phones after 2012.
The iphone is a good phone but to be honest ,Its not on tha same level as those boss Android phones.
I believe Apple knows this too, Ask anyone who really knows about tech and they will probaly say the same thing. Android won this war, its so clear to see this but iphone users will deny this.

When I bought my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 it was a blue colour and it came with a yellow S Pen but unfortunately I don't know how the S Pen dropped and got broken and just for a sort of conformity I bought the blue colour S Pen for a replacement.I noticed that the replacement S Pen that I bought does not work properly like the original yellow that came with the phone and when the S Pen is being used instead of the apps to display like half moon on the phone screen they just display straight down.So my concern is that does it mean that I have to buy the exact same yellow S Pen like it came originally with the phone as a replacement or it just doesn't really matter.
How do you make the alarm sound go off repeatedly when you're to far from your pen mine just sends 1 notification it doesn't go off repeatedly like my friends does and we cant figure it out
for example I do have my note 9 blue one. and had a replacement w/c is purple can i still use the stylus from my note 9 (blue) stylus? or there will be some changes? w/ the funtionality and usage?

How did you get your navigation buttons to be like stock android?
That hand written text to phone text works so well. I would not use it myself for texting, but I tried it out and can say it is so good that even some of my poorer written text I did it put in accurately. I can see some older people who hate texting loving that. I do use fleksy keyboard though and it is good for me on ios (my iPod Touch 6) and my Note 10. I didn't get the note 10 plus at is had a front camera in the way of the screen which made me not like the display L0L.

Can we really use it to replace a note (paper) book for business use (during calls) with a lot to write ? Can we write notes with horizontal pages ? Do the S pen and the screen size is convenient for that ?
You can press on the button and hold to select text, also keep pressing the button in some apps to use the eraser like in Onenote or Samsung note, the glance is to use two apps simultaneously but mainly to look at one while hovering over it and then it disappears when you go to your app, let's say getting info from a massage you want to insert into another app
so instead of setting the timer for a group picture you could use the s pen to snap the picture..that's awesome
I want to launch google assistant by pressing the pen like you did, but I can't find the assistant in the app list. Did they remove that option?

Mac Theode if you set it to video mode, yes the pen button starts and stops video shooting.
What theme or launcher do you use?
Does the Galaxy Note 9 reliably show up as an external hard drive when usb plugged into desktop computers? So can easily transfer photos, videos, other files between phone and desktop computers?
One of my Note 3 phones is very troublesome in that 95% of the time when connected via usb to desktop computer it only shows under Camera PTP which does not show nor allow transferring of photos and videos from phone.
Have to repeatedly manually select and deselect connect as media device mtp but even though it takes many many many tries before it eventually randomly decides to actually show phone as external hardrive with photos and videos viewable to transfer to & from desktop computer. Its weird because one of my other Galaxy Note 3 phones shows up reliably & transfers videos, photos and other documents every time its connected to computer.
Hoping the Note 9 is more reliable.

It only unlocks if you were already unlocked when you pulled out the S Pen.
If you go into notes and go to settings you can still write on "lock screen memo " in yellow and jtll save in black if you just activate that feature in the notes section.
Broke my iPhone 6 a while ago, and when looking for new phones I came across the note 9, it was kinda my perfect phone. Finally got it a while ago, and looking if there's any features I've missed

i Just did the same, up from note 4 . this thing is a beast , the wife wanted me to get an iphone NOT i absolutely love the note 9 you will LOVE it. so mant things it can do im going through the learning curve.
@@drtracyst I've been using it now for about 2 weeks, it is a truly amazing device. My note 4 took great photos, and they pale in comparison to my note 9. Battery life is awesome too.
Just be careful of the s pen. After 1 week, mine slipped out because it wasn't in properly and I had to buy a new one. I was so mad, had the note 4 stylus for 3 years...

NINE 30 yes you can when you write a sreen off memo there’s is a pin button in the top left corner, tap it and the memos will be on your always on display for 30 mins

Nice video. The handwriting option may be useful in languages with complex characters which have cumbersome on-screen keyboards.
