    This cruel world still isn't the same without the one and the only, Robin Williams!

    I met Robin in 1998 when he was shopping for gfx cards. We talked about computer gaming, specifically playing Quake II, which is why he was getting a 3dfx graphics card. Such a nice and friendly guy. The world is still a sadder place without his magic.

      Yes, but think how fortunate we are to have all this material we can access. Whenever I’m feeling bad I turn to a clip of Robin or Carlin and they make me laugh no matter how many times I’ve seen it before.

    Robin was playing a lot of Nintendo at this time in his life, Zelda to be specific, which is where his child that is about to be born got her name.

    the movie ticket there was $7. Back when this movie came out the minimum wage was $3.35, meaning you would have to work more than two hours to afford to see DEAD POETS SOCIETY if you worked on that wage.

      I hate that that’s the way it’s referenced. He was sick. He was not going to be robin anymore. He didn’t want to put his family through that misery. He didn’t want to put the people who loved him through that misery. He made a decision, and he went out on his own terms and a lot of people in this world wish they could do just that I’m 67 years old and since I was 16 I have always said that my biggest fear was that I would Have no control over my body but there would be two or three brain cells that were still alive and were still working but I couldn’t use them. Maybe that was what he thought too although I miss him a lot I know my son does he was a very special man with a very special gift and then he got sick.

      My recollection was slightly off there - I meant to say it may not have been suicide due to depression / mental illness, but rather a totally separate physical condition which he himself was not even aware that he had and which medical professionals said of the post-mortem that it was one of the worst cases they'd ever seen.
      One wonders what would have happened if he had known that his symptoms were not mental but physical. Personally I find it really helped to know that my mental issues were being caused by my physical condition and I was able to deal with the symptoms a lot better since I knew exactly what it was and that it wasn't real.

    Anyone else think Robin Williams is a selfish person? There's plenty in people in life who suffer from much worse who have much less money and don't do something as selfish as he did. I just have a bad taste in my mouth whenever I see him, dude could have got the best mental healthcare in the world while some people suffering from more than he did can't even afford to go to get help, some people are stuck in jobs they hate suffering more than he did while he had the means to pursue whatever he wanted to. I get that money and fame doesn't buy happiness, but it sure helps with finding what makes you happy.

    • @TheEman590
      @TheEman590 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Dude, you're a tool. He was about to lose all movement in his entire body and no doubt had a lot of depression that couldn't be remedied. Money can't buy good mental health. In fact, the fame and stress of making sure you don't lose it all probably does no favors. Get over yourself.

    • @AndyLurie37
      @AndyLurie37 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      Hot take. Great job finding a way to blame Robin for other people’s problems, or at the very least not solving them. Also, what a great way of showing an absolute lack of knowledge regarding his condition. But hey, you got to make an edgy Internet comment. Good going.

    • @Alexander_Grant
      @Alexander_Grant 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@AndyLurie37 Not an edgy internet comment, and not blaming him for other people's problems. I'm just saying the dude had no excuse to do what he did and leave a family behind. It ruined everything he was in for me. And I know his condition, I also know other people have had that condition and other people haven't taken the coward's way out.
