I really love how they incorporate Dimitri’s Crest of Blaiddyd into the cutscenes, too, even if it’s a tad unnerving. Like, his enhanced strength made him able to snap that armored dude’s neck with his hands without really trying. He also crushed the one guy’s skull by squeezing it with one hand. That’s fucking terrifying. In the first several seconds, when Byleth tries to grab him and he shoves him away, that was being gentle. He could have easily yeeted Byleth through the wall right there if he hadn’t been trying to restrain himself. Scary.
Edelgard and her cronies were willing to kill the Blue Lions. Even though their initial goal had to do with theft rather than killing, killing is what it had come to. Even though the leader of the Blue Lions lost his mind it still wouldn't have been an overly great idea to try to stop him. If putting his hand on his shoulder to try to stop him didn't work, then it would have required force. Even if Byleth would have had the physical strength (unlikely) to stop Dimitri by force it would have put both of their lives in danger. It was better for the Blue Lions to just let Dimitri do what he wanted and try to protect him as necessary. If they are tackling their house leader to the ground Hubert is just going to come up and start blasting people with magic and Edelgard is going to start hacking peoples' heads off with an axe. You cannot turn against your comrades in the midst of battle to keep them from killing enemy soldiers. Byleth was never really against Dimitri killing enemy soldiers he was just mostly concerned with his recklessness. And the dark disturbing things he was saying post time skip he was mostly just concerned with his edgy state of mind causing himself distress, his comrades distress, and recklessly pursuing revenge rather than doing what was currently right for Faerghus.
I think the voice actor deserves some praise for nailing this performance so well. It really does show just how bad Dimitri was getting, and how edlegard's betrayal was but the straw that broke the camel's back. The sheer confusion/anger(?) in the "is this a joke?!" Line was not perfect of course. However it does it's job of building up to Dimitri damned near butchering like 5 trained soldiers all at once. I say it's not perfect, only because to me it sounds like his voice cracked slightly on the take they used

I love how when Dimitri starts laughing like a maniac, Male Byleth just looks annoyed, while Female Byleth looks concerned all throughout, makes me think both are seperate characters despite being the same person but different genders.
I'm almost done playing this route for the first time and something that struck me about this scene is that it shows Dimitri crush Edelgard's mask after discovering who she really is. But, in a lot of ways, I felt this is when his mask slipped as well. I could not help but wonder if it was supposed to be symbolic between the both of them, not just her.

El was more injured in both and in the incident of the dagger she didnt even miss, she got his shoulder, WHILE having an unclean shot. unclean as in she was trying to be fast and stealthy about it which realistically couldve screwed up her aim.

The moment I saw this, it was scary. Granted, Dimitri was already a strong unit for the Blue Lions run, and I loved his story arc and personality. This was but a taste of what he could truly do. The laugh, the crazy look, the determination, the pure crazy look to kill the one who took everything from him.

If she just came out and said it wasn't her fault he probably wouldn't believe her and try to kill her. It's a game . There is no need to read into things so deeply. If this happend to you I doubt you would be very understanding and forgiving.

I played silver snow route, and I felt just like him. I truly loved Edelgardt as if she's my daughter untill she betrayed me. So I was mad like Dimitri and wanted to kill her in similar reason. Still I love her most in Three Houses, but I also hate her most.
I was the same as you, except that I wasn’t mad at Edelgard. I was mad at Byleth for not siding with her. This was of course before I discovered that there was a secret route.
