…I'm feeling convinced to play Three Houses just for the sake of joining the Golden Deer. Yes, I am officially opening up to Claude!

They really need to expand the lore or fill in some uncertainties in this story. Till this day people are still talking about FE3H as it had such a massive impact on the FE community. The ambiguity of it all and the lore expansion like including world politics is what makes it so intriguing. I really think if Nintendo made an anime for FE3H it would be a massive success. Especially if it covered what happened in the 5 years that Byleth was gone in each route. Three Hopes was just not enough, plus it's considered a spinoff. A lot of FE fans (myself included) are in desperate need of more FE3H content

I just love all the little details in this scene honestly. Its telling a story without words, Edelgards eyes being empty almost like a corpse, the light shining on them. Her and Dimitris weak little smiles before she decided to die, the brief moment before she grabs the dagger almost considering grabbing his hand, but then realizing she has to die in the end. Absolute masterpiece of a scene. Unironic peak cinema

you can see dimitri looks sad, and disappointed see, here's the thing with everyone but edelgard everybody has faults, and by the end of their routes, they realize what they did wrong and changed for the better rhea, dimitri but edelgard was firm with her beliefs, cared less about the consequences and had 0 regrets. even when she lost, dimitri forgave her and spared her, but she still attempted to kill him. crimson flower is shown as a good route on its own as you play it (of course) but it really is the worst ending. there arent any winners, and the fodlan has turned out for the worst.

edelgard: I wanted.. to walk with you.. byleth: too bad. *die* also i dont think there were really any good sides here, though i think that was the whole point. rhea and edelgard were pretty similar, if anything, were quite hypocritical. but if i had to choose, the church was the better option. besides, rhea realizes she was screwed up, she has regrets but decides to live on living with what she did wrong, and letting go of her mother. but edelgard on the other hand, has no regrets with the chaos she caused. and sets the world in ruin with work needed to be done, only with a cliffhanger of them getting to work with TWSITD. killing edelgard is the best option, cause from there on, byleth was aware of TWSITD, are able to stop them, and the church abolished. rhea makes a change to herself, edelgard in the other hand would never.

In other words, Kronya's death was an absolute waste.

nemisis was such a wasted potential. he is obviously the center of th games history but he only appeared in a wierd way in one route along with his nameless 10 generals which is already depressing that they couldn't bother with making custom models with iconic figures in the history of fodlan in an epic battle.... in the wet and boring swamp.

I'm sorry but this ending was incredible, you seriously don't expect it. I was honestly expecting some drawn out dialogue but here Byleth just cuts her down like nothing showing that he/she can be as ruthless as he/she is encouraging.

this game's storytelling is so extreme why does byleth never have a proper ending like i wish we can make our choices properly personally i wouldn't want to kill Edelgard and want to be able to undo past mistakes. like wouldn't this kind of ending create an unending cycle of killing i want to know what was going through minds of the writer if they had make games with Atlus than why are these endings horrible

This scene perfectly fits a tragic villain like Edelgard. She sounds like she's on the verge of tears, regretting every choice she made, and perhaps wondering if things could have been different. This is especially when she says, "I wanted... to walk with you..." To me, the entirety of this scene could be interpreted as a dying declaration of love from Edelgard to Byleth, although this only applies in the Silver Snow route. It must have been extremely difficult for Byleth to do, seeing as how they grasped their sword so tightly, knowing what they were about to do I wouldn't be surprised if they shed tears in private afterward.

Edelguard could have thrown the knife into his head or neck. She aimed for his shoulder, the only part of his body with overlapping plates of armor. She gave him back the knife to carve his own destiny, and she gave him a villain to slay to become a hero now that her own plan crumbled. Dimitri became the hero king who killed the mad emperor, and because of that knife he won’t blame himself for it.

I like how they let each other live. “We want to continue this war, for now”

Sinister Dimitri deserved to meet Ashnard from Tellius games. Both would have gone squared nuts

I think my favorite detail for this is at 0:27. You can see Rhea is determined to defend her home and the innocents who are at the monastery from the Empire. I think this reinforces my theory that when Rhea tells Byleth "everybody here, young and old, is in your hands", that is her accepting that Sothis is gone and Byleth is who remains. She's accepted that this is her home now, and her home and her people need her now more than ever. That's probably why she was willing to transform into the Immaculate one in an environment where she could've been seen transforming.

After Rhea holds the sword, we see flashy images, we see a... gorilla? Some Babel tower, Sothis? modern cities (Shambhalla). And that's it, does this part of the cutscene tried to tell us something?

Even though i disliked Edelgard when she turned on us (i sided with rhea first), i though her last line was kinda sad.

I've always been upset at the game creators for not giving either Byleth a voice, they're just mute the entire time. Really takes the emotion out of a lot of these cutscenes for me. 😐

i like the female byleth ver. for this clip in particular more than m!byleth. her smile is just so crazy wide (for byleth standards) that you can really tell how happy and relieved she is that they won

Guys i don't think you're related to seteth, pretty sure he never even met nemesis, he's a few generations away from rhea, and his brothers (and flayn) don't see rhea (or sothis) as a relative either, pretty sure sothis is their goddess because she created their race, and only rhea (and perhaps her generation when they were alive) thinks of her as her mom since she created her directly

it's very reflective of their characterisation and relationship with their citizenry how the lords act in this cutscene. dimitri throws himself into the fray first, something that is commented by others to be his self-destructive tendencies at work. he puts himself between his enemy and his people and keeps a firm focus on her. he is battle-hardened and accustomed to death, but he is fighting for all those who have died. claude gives his order and runs in alongside his men. he expresses many times that he sees no difference in humanity between nobles and commoners. they are his equals, his comrades, even if he is the one to give the orders. he watches them injure and die and it steels him for the fight ahead. edelgard has an almost passivity in all this despite being the initial aggressor. the empire launch the first assault - in the war and in this battle. she looks away in regret and expresses sadness that they "must" battle for real, and yet she still starts it. she expresses repeatedly in her route that she is ready to sacrifice her citizenry to achieve her aims and this is made plain when she doesnt move when her soldiers rush forward. dimitri fights for his people. claude fights with his people. edelgard has her people fight for her.

I bet Dimitri would react the same way if he found out Ozai wasn't executed for his crimes

I experienced this in Verdant Wind, and while the scene itself is brilliant, the context of VW hurt it a lot. Claude and Edelgard never felt like they really had a reason to fight when they both wanted a Fodlan free from theocratic blood hierarchy. Hell, Edel's paralogue even established she wants to improve race relations with Almyrans. I imagine it lands a lot different in Silver Snow.

Other protagonist's in this series all had powerful magical one of a kind swords but none that could casually SLICE A HOLE IN THE FABRIC OF REALITY

Hmmm... everyone seems to think that Edelgard threw the dagger as a way to secure Dimitri's position as the ruler? Personally, I view it as a last-chance attempt to kill him... and a very tragic way to indeed follow through with how he told her to use the dagger to cut a path to her future. Hmm... but it doesn't kill him even though it hits... maybe the others are right. Maybe she knew it wouldn't but instead was telling him to cut his own path. ...Sad.

I don't think Edelgard was trying to kill Dimitri here. I think this was her way of saying "no. I have lost. Kill me so this war can be over". In Silver Snow and Verdant Wind, Edelgard accepts defeat and lets Byleth execute her with no issue after the chapter is finished. In this chapter, the last thing she would've needed to do after uniting Fodlan (killing the Slithers) is already done. But war doesn't have a happy ending. War is brutal, and every participant loses. Edelgard knows this and knew that her taking Dimitri's hand there would be her cowering from the consequences of her actions. Edelgard may be the primary antagonist, but mad respect to her for accepting defeat when she's beaten.
