The fact that Dimitri is the only House leader who immediately goes to see Byleth in Jeralt’s office after what happened to Jeralt shows to me that he’s the best of the three leaders.

@@izayakanra I remember responding to her with "why would you ask me something like that?" even though she was giving tough words i can see how concerned she was (her facial expressions). Honestly, my best friend irl is like that. I mean they're tough with you because they love you :(

Or the one who felt it was an opportunity to help a friend have the revenge he couldn't have which was probably cathartic to him...until he got an opportunity for an actual revenge which turned him crasy.

The fact he mentions Byleth hasn't eaten since daddy Jeralt's murder...that breaks my heart each time. Grief and depression aren't fun...
It's all the more prominent when you remember how many times he points out Byleth's otherwise near insatiable appetite during feasts prior to Jeralt's death. That red flag of her not eating AT ALL afterwards must have been enough to get him to go check on her immediately.
I don't remember if the other two lords ever comment on Byleth's bottomless pit of a stomach lol.

2:50 Another thing I loved in Blue Lions is that Dimitri carried Byleth himself. In Golden Deer, Claude calls Hilda. In Black Eagles, Edelgard calls Hubert. I was like... wow. It just made me appreciate Dimitri that much more!
I feel like Dimitri and rest of the Blue Lions genuinely care for Byleth instead of seeing how useful she/he is and then starting to care. That is why I love the Blue Lions path so much.

@@Mario2980 you’re exactly right which to be fair it’s understandable really why they would have their retainers do it if they’re the same sex as the professor so I don’t really see it other than just being respectful and not wanting to make a scene.

These two are made for each other. Hence, Blue Lions is my favorite path and wanted it to last longer with those who slither in the dark story.

to be fair Dimitri's route leaves them crippled and unlikely to be capable of recovering.
Thales is dead and he was the only one who could operate the Javelin of Light. (Edelgard's Uncle Arundel is Thales) Cornelia and everyone else in any major position of power for TWSITD are also all dead...
We know only Thales can use the Javelin because Blue Lions is the only route where Arundel dies before he get's the chance to use it. (Edelgard's injuries inflicted by Dimitri kept her off the frontlines forcing Thales/Arundel to do so in her place leaving him an easy target for Byleth and Dimitri.
if anyone else was capable then after Arundel's death surely someone else would have launched it.
Factor in the events mentioned in the DLC and it's even more conclusive!
basically, Hapi tracks down their headquarters and recruits Dimitri and Byleth (off-screen where they obliterate what little remains of TWSITD with a Holy Kingdom's strikeforce and a bunch of Demonic Beasts summoned by the very curse Cornelia inflicted on Hapi!
yes, it would have been preferable to actually play this portion but at least it isn't unaddressed.

I wish so too. Would have been cool to take place after Dimitri is crowned king by Byleth. Like maybe Slither tries going after Byleth but Dimitri and co crash in to save/protect Byleth.
3:06 might be my favourite ‘little’ Dimitri/Byleth moment in the game, precisely because of when it happens in the story. We see Dimitri, a man willing to sacrifice his friends and himself for his revenge, terrified at the thought of anything happening to Byleth. It’s a sign that the kind-hearted prince is still in there somewhere, and it made me more determined than ever to stick with him.
I never got that moment in my playthrough. What has to happen for it, and what comes after?

Blue Lions will always be my favorite but I suggest strongly going straight for Golden Deer afterwards and pair up Byleth(female) with Claude/Khalid. You won't regret it I promise you that(Claude is actually Dimitri's cousin btw). Claude isn't as down to earth as Dimitri but he has his own unique charm and charisma about him not to mention the S Support at the end is worth it just as much as Dimitri's.

Azure moon was my first route and I only just finished it. I figured I’d do one of the black eagles routes next bc there’s two and only one for golden deer but it feels so WRONG to not be greeted by dimitri and mercie and annette and dedue etc. I love them all so much that now I’m just like >:( but I want the full experience
I've always liked the parallel between the two conversations at the goddess tower. At the pre time skip Dimitri had wished that he and Byleth could stay together forever but immediately backed down and claimed it as a joke. Which personally for me felt more like a promise of friendship but might have some romantic intent underlying it. It might have felt awkward blatantly saying something with misleading contexts (probably not knowing why he would say something like that) so Dimitri afterwards apologized for saying such a thing. In the S support convo at post time skip. Upon presenting Byleth the ring, Dimitri said that Byleth could refuse and he could accept it as a man if ever. I think it shows Dimitri's maturity and how in tune he already was with his emotions and living the truth for what he believes in and what he feels for it. He gave his piece and was willing to stand by it regardless. No more regretting over the confusion of expressing himself.
I realized something about my love for Dimitri... It's on par with my love for Garrus from Mass Effect, in the sense that I physically cannot bring myself to play the game without romancing them. I just... can't XD
Zephyros Phoenix the relation with Byleth and Dimitri really has good synergy, even outside of supports.
I mean, Garrus is 'The Guy'. He is just the best, I never even thought about it but I would have to say I get you and totally agree! XD

Ugh, I want to play Three Houses again and do the Blue Lions just because it was so compelling. I did Golden Deer, Black Eagles, then Blue Lions, and lastly the Church route. I think Dimitri's relationship with Byleth feels more personal and the emotion is authentic. Claude and Edelgard are already set on their paths and have a clear goal in mind whereas Dimitri is trapped in torturous darkness that just haunts him, and I felt playing as Byleth she's someone just existing with no real purpose or rather unsure of WHAT her purpose is or what she WANTS to do. She is quirky and has the same mischievous spirit that Female Robin from Awakening has (At least is how I felt with her dialogue choices) but for 'spoiler reasons' can't quite emote them as well as others... I dunno, just felt right walking the same path as Dimitri and overcoming the hardships that follow the reveal of the Flame Emperor's identity together. I also was salty about Edelgard popping up after Jeralt's death like, get over it - I was like "IT'S BEEN LITERALLY DAYS - not weeks, DAYS since he died, lady!" XD I also felt Claude's asking -persisting- of her Father's journal was insensitive as well. But I might be biased because of my own personal loss of my father too.

Speaking of Chrobin, I adore Dimileth because they are so similar.
A slightly mischievous woman who wishes to be her best and grow, and a dorky and kind strong man who wishes to save the people he can. Both in Awakening and in 3 Houses the two pairs bond through the darkness of war, and try to help each other over the losses they've experienced. Even both the men "break" at a certain point, to which the main character comes in to bring them back (albeit once takes far longer than the other.) I just adore the natural-relationship feel they both give, especially because in both pairs *you* are the one who walks with them the entire game. I just love it.
AM is definitely my favorite path, and the house in general. Although, I prefer VW gameplay wise because it's easier and has more variety in battles.
After playing all three houses (not too keen on doing the Church route), I feel no desire to play Golden Deer or Black Eagles again. The Blue Lions' house feels like home to me in this game and I just can't picture Byleth with any character other than Dimitri.
That was me too. Although after my first playthrough of Blue Lions I ended up deciding to play all routes to get the full experience I couldn't bring myself to play those routes again and kept playing Blue Lions once I finished them. Actually I ended up playing Black Eagles twice because I forgot to talk to Edelgard in one chapter and saved past the point of no return so I had to restart again lol

@@tanx6160 Ah, when I did that route I tried talking to her first, not knowing it would lead to the branching path, so, I quickly reloaded my game to talk to everyone else before talking to her, so I could get all the dialogue.
I was mainly doing sort of a speed runner tactic and using only Byleth and edelgard to get through the game faster, but still see all the story, but the one chapter I forget to talk to her happened to be that one chapter lol

yes ☺ in the earlier cutscene where death knight awaits you in fort merceus (Caspar & Linhardt will be with him if unrecruited), he says "that woman (or man) approaches...and here you are as well mercedes."
in the part i included here, if you use male byleth, he says "all save that man" meaning he wants to duel you for himself and not to others. I thought it was mercie as well because i initially thought he meant to "save" as in rescue..but using mbyleth proved otherwise 😳
