- It's a brand new dawn for the Transformers series. Michael Bay has returned for a soft reboot/sequel in Transformers: Age Of Extinction. This movie is full of new characters and locals in a sweeping attempt to introduce a new hero in Mark Wahlberg Cade Yeager. An inventor and lunatic on a futile journey to help Optimus Prime and the Autobots whilst protecting his daughters...honesty. It's a big loud dumb nightmare disaster of a movie. But Dinobots ya know? Johnny Phesto and if said man fail to catch the ball, a committee is held where the local residents and politicians decide what punishment is best suiting of the case. One of the most common are public hangings. Mostly because it’s a good excuse to spend tax payers dollars on what is essentially an unexpected 4th of July. Food is sold, games are played, all while a traitor is being hung. It’s wonderful!

I like the scene where they all attack the KSI building. It was an interesting set piece and had some kind of purpose and I liked the small scale of it compared to cities and planets blowing up.
My favorite part of the film is when Optimus prime fell to his highly rendered cg-metal knees and shouted, “THEY SLAUGHTERED OREO-BOT!!”

Fun/sad fact: when Optimus first transforms, with headphones you can hear him grumble "no Sam, run" (the subtitles said it too) which is telling me that Sam was killed. 😭 Why didn't Bay just show what happened to him, or explain? Bay takes a complete left turn with this movie and introduces a new character worse and less likeable than Sam, doesn't explain what happened to him, and expects us to just roll with it. Ugh.

That’s when he got the jet packs because he first used it when he was killing the Human made transformers when he jumped off Grimlock and said “I’ll kill you” then grimlock bites the same robot Prime sliced off the building

no Stanley Tucci's character from Age of Extinction is never shown or mentioned in The Last Knight. From all appearance it's just a huge coincidence.
Also, Cade Yeager is the last of a bloodline that includes Sam, so Sam is uh dead I guess.
The laminated "Romeo and Juliett" card really creeped me out. Because what sort of person carries around a literal "get out of jail free," card? Creepy paedos, that's who! Who thought that was a good idea?
I also got pissed off with the boyfriend's constant "I'm not here to help you save your daughter, you're here to help me save my girlfriend." That guy needed punching in the face. Repeatedly.
It should've been like in the first few Pokemon films where you got a card when watching the film in theaters or buying the DVD, except it's a Romeo and Juliet law card.

ABOUT THAT SCENE: The age of consent in Texas is 17. So not only is the scene stupid and super creepy, it's also completely pointless. Good job, Bay.
This happens a lot because the age of consent is 18 in California, and filmmakers tend to assume it's the same everywhere in the U.S.

The biggest thing that annoyed me about this (aside from the whole underage relationships nonsense) was the Dinobots, the whole advertising was big on them...and they are HARDLY IN IT! And in the follow up even less...this isn't a patch on that one though, next week will be something else!

16:57 it was 100% cheaper... Way less costly and time-consuming to do a stupid cube particle effect than fully animate a car turning into a robot with all of its different moving parts and effects

The age difference between Irish Labeouf & Mark Wahlberg’s teenage daughter gets even worse because he’s 20 & she’s 17. Which means that when they started dating before he turned 18, so he was 17, she must have been 14-15 depending on when their birthdays are. Regardless, it’s still super gross.
I always thought about that and when you put it like that, it's even more disgusting. Why didn't they make Shane be in High school alongside Tessa? That would be like Young Love.

The logic of the Transformers always bothered me when I was young, because they are aliens, that look like Robots, yet the Hasbro Toys said they were robots and the TV show continuity kept them as Aliens, but for the films Micheal Bay was just like they are whatever they are in the upcoming film.
