Six years after they called it a day, the Beatles were still in demand. Despite each member of the band being immersed in highly successful solo careers, the void of their existence as a band was still felt by fans across the globe. By the mid-'70s, rock had become big business, and the time was right, many seemed to think, for the Fab Four to come together once again.
For a few years, Los Angeles-based concert promoter Bill Sargent had made motions towards the idea of a reunion, offering up $10 million in 1974, but on Jan. 16, 1976, he upped the ante to $30 million.

Oh what I would have done to hear those four sparks come together one last time … it would have been a fire to remember.

The media really harassed ex Beatles members about getting back together. They could not accept them as individuals .They only saw them as a group . It was time to move forward but they were bizarrely stuck in the past

The Beatles knew it would be impossible to live up to the expectations…now making another record could have been a possibility…imho…

i think its even heroic that no amount of money pulled them back into the ring. it had to be and could only be if it felt like the right thing to do.
