Now it's just MSRP creep and the manufacturers have cut out the scalping dealers to do it themselves. These are not "reasonable" prices... They only seem reasonable in light of hte last two years. $66K for a nissan Z? It was a cheap, sporty car that was the appeal.
@@WhoTFstolemyname MSRP creep? You mean inflation I think, it's normal for prices to keep increasing little by little each year. Also MSRP for a Nissan Z is $42k and you still get a twin turbo fun car. $65k is for the Nismo and Nismo models have always been crazy expensive. Same to look at say the Supra. Back in the day MSRP for a MK4 Supra Turbo was $56k, for the Zupra it's $55k. That's a bargain when you think about the cost of inflation. WRX starts at $32k MSRP. Civic Type R starts at $44k MSRP, which considering the big inflation we just went through it's not far off the adjusted price compared to say the older FK8 model. So all things considered they do sound reasonable, but once dealers start marking them up $10K+ over sticker that's like over 25% increase in price, which is obviously not reasonable.

@@blizzunt420e Way to make urself look like a complete idiot who knows literally nothing about electric vehicles. Lets do a quick run down of how wrong you are. - Batteries pay for themselves in gas savings. In all countries outside of America gas is extremely expensive because we dont sink 10% of our gdp into subsidizing fuel. Where I am its 160 on average to fill your tank. - Unless abused, electric cars should last 15-20 years before being remotely close to needing a battery replacement. - No, a battery replacement costs 15,000 dollars, a new car costs at least 40k. - By the time electric cars need their batteries replaced, we will have the resources to recycles 95% of them and the price will be substantially lower - You dont see a lot of 10-15 year + cars on the road. People constantly buy new cars, and if they cant, they want to ASAP. - If youre on a long trip, you have the time to wait, plug your car and go get something to eat. Or rent a gas car if its that much of a hassle. - Unlike gas stations, theres no practical limit to electricity supply so you can have a theoretically unlimited number of stations. Never seen a wait line for electric cars, but theres a 30 minute line at every costco gas ive ever seen. - Super charging takes 15 minutes for 100%, not 30. - Super charging costs at most 25 dollars for 0-100. - The life span of a tesla (the worst electric car in terms of build quality) is 300,000 to 500,000 miles. Gas cars dont survive past 200k on average according to statistics. - Theres no proof theyll limit your battery capacity, the battery capacity just falls. Holy shit do you know anything about what youre talking about? - Theres no engine in an electric car, theres no relation to battery capacity and wear. They do not do this. - It will not cost you the same amount, if the battery can only be charged to 80%, youre only going to pay for 80% of a charge. - Everyone who owns an electric car has their own charging station at home, so you dont pay anyways. - I agree its just fluff so the 1% can keep destroying the planet, most people agree with that. - All cars have built in computer chips. If the police wanted to they could disable any gas or electric car from the past 10 years remotely. - Electric motors have existed for as long as gas motors. There are millions of books on how electric drive systems work, trains have been electric since the fucking 1800s. - There are on average 20 moving parts in an electric car, there is more than 2000 in a gas car. They are obejctively easier to work on. - There are millions of people in the US who tinker with electric motors. ALL of them are qualified to work on an electric car if they have worked on any other electric vehicle, because they all work exactly the same. - Gas cars are objectively bad for the environment. Mining, transporting, refining, and selling gas burns fossil fuels and electricity in every step of the process. Charging an electric car uses just coal plants. - Those "slave children" you pretend to care about only when your gas cars are threatened have been there mining for decades to build the components for your gas cars, at least batteries are 95% recyclable. Maybe learn ANYTHING about electric vehicles from someone who owns, modifies, designs, or builds electric vehicles before speaking.

The biggest problem with the Nismo Z is with dealer markups, it gets priced at the level of a slightly used mid year model GT-R which I think is a much better option for any driving enthusiast. “But sure it’s fun rowing through gears, but automatic transmissions are so good right now.” Even though that is absolutely true, I get it, but they are way more expensive to fix. So many cool cars coming out in 2024, it's hard to pick a favorite. The design and features being introduced are incredible. Eyeing that Ford Mustang GTD, racing enthusiast's dream!
Its sad to hear them say that a manual does not really matter these days... I don't care how good automatics get or how fast they are. Nothing is going to compare to a drive in a nice manual sports car. I totally understand if you are in a race car you need a auto. But a sports car is about being fun to drive on the street. And lets hope Honda does not screw the Prelude name over like they did the Integra. The Integra they came out with is a fancy Camery.... But I think it comes in manual so they got one thing right with it.
A racing car's "automatic" gearbox rarely has much in common with a road going one. Almost all of them are sequential, single clutch models that are fired pneumatically, and cannot select a new gear without driver intervention. This holds for everything from a GT3 car, to an F1 car, to a current model NASCAR cup car.
@@ItsjamilagainIt can be a good car but also disappointing by straying too far from what made the older Integras memorable. “automatic transmissions these days are so much faster”, i think the more relavant argument is people feeling the control and connection to the car of a manual transmission
How you gonna compare manual and automatic windows to offering a manual transmission? You’re correct the automatics are great for speed but I’m a firm believer they can still just offer a manual for the people that want it rather than just not offering it. There’s something about popping my own clutch, just like I’ll never want my motorcycle to be automatic even if it’s faster I’ll keep it a standard I enjoy the feel to the machine.

Its because of people like james & nolan. Instead of wanting car manufacturers to produce cars for enthusiasts, they always back those manufacturers who are doing to opposite. Money talks, so I understand why they do it but its just sad
There’s literally no reason they couldn’t either. The 6 speed that’s in the Z is the exact same as the 370. The FS6R has proven itself to be able to handle power up to 500 on stock internals and you could do a simple flywheel and clutch upgrade to continue that. It came down to money and the “R&D” for essentially an aero package of a car they already have the transmission in. They didn’t think it would be worth the cost because they aren’t selling the regular models as is, which is their fault for not making any and dealer markups. I worked at a Nissan dealership before going to Toyota when I moved and last I remember in November of 23 they sold under 1000. I wouldn’t be surprised if they sold under 1000 for the entirety of 2023. Really hope they change production numbers and start making some going forward.

The Prelude reminds me a LOT of the new Prius. The tail light bar is similar and so is the design/shape of the front headlights. The Prius doesn't have the connected lightbar in the front, but the overall shape is quite similar. I really like the car. I don't care that much about the carbon fiber specifically but the car overall is pretty neat. But I suspect it'll drag its feet real bad. Regular ass Civics got huge markups and Honda has dragged their feet bringing the hybrid Civic to the US (which stinks because I wanted one, but needed to get a car in 2023 so I ended up with a non-hybrid). I hope it really does hit the price point you mentioned instead of getting marked up to hell.
I thought it was already generally known the ID Buzz is not coming anywhere close to $40k, maybe more like $60k to start. Reminds me of the "$40,000" versions of the F-150 Lightning and Silverado EV, except I haven't really seen any indication from VW themselves that they're shooting for that price range, it just seems to be a number that keeps spreading on its own.
If I had a GTD, it would play Doom, Rip & Tear when the door is open with the ignition off. At Doom's Gate when it starts, and fade to mute once in gear. Finally, BFG Division when race mode is engaged, until it's put in to gear.
If they cannot start selling cars cheaper, they will put themselves out of business. People don't need new models every year, but new cars are unaffordable.
I agree, I love how it’s unique in the way it charges the battery. If most Hybrids could be just as thought out like this I’m sure most would have that knee jerk reaction when we here EV
FYI, the ID.Buzzes being sold in Britain are being registered as commercial vehicles that have a restricted speed limit of 55 mph that applies to them. Any extra horsepower from dual motors is therefore a bit pointless.
I love how they always mentioned the dealership markups because that's usually what kills these cars
for reals. I was thinking how these prices are "reasonable" but dealers will says "supply and demand" and then price it out of the range of everyone.
Now it's just MSRP creep and the manufacturers have cut out the scalping dealers to do it themselves. These are not "reasonable" prices... They only seem reasonable in light of hte last two years. $66K for a nissan Z? It was a cheap, sporty car that was the appeal.
absolutely.. they are the ones standing in the way and make it harder..

- By the time electric cars need their batteries replaced, we will have the resources to recycles 95% of them and the price will be substantially lower
- You dont see a lot of 10-15 year + cars on the road.

Send out a signal to your car preventing it from even using the full amount of your battery you will only be allowed to use 80% of your battery at the end of your hundred thousand mile lifespan and that’s as they claim to protect your engine meaning instead of you getting a 310 mile range on your car from a full charge you’ll now only get 270 but it will still cost you the same amount.. wake up people this is just for the billionaires in the globalist to finally get their way of controlling everybody in the world they get to drive they get to fly private jets they get to use all the am of the world to make their life easy while they get to keep their privacy and freedoms, but all of you need to drive electric cars that have built-in microphones and cameras and computer chips and can be controlled from a computer in the police station if you ever break the law with one click of a button, whereas a gas powered car gives you true freedom true independence if you want to work on your gas powered car, you can actually buy a book and learn how to fix your engine or do maintenance. Good luck ever getting a book about how to fix your Tesla that’s a proprietary information that they would never let you have un gas cars. Us there’s thousands and thousands and thousands of mechanics probably millions across the United States for gas cars and diesel and there are probably only a handful of people who know how to even work on a Tesla and they all work at Tesla and they’re all going to charge you an arm and a leg… so wake up people stop making this horrible future a reality. All you have to do is say no tell government to F off and to continue to buy and support gas vehicles and also share this message so that other people can start hearing this information and they can have an informed decision instead of thinking it’s so cool and good for the environment. It’s definitely not in the slave children in Africa that are collecting all the minerals for those batteries that you’re sitting on top of your electric car will tell you that it’s not worth it while they lose hands and feet and get cancer before they even hit their 20s all from the toxic effects that mining those minerals has on this planet …
Glad to see you guys taking a dump on dealership markups!
Fantastic video!
'2017, that was like a long time ago.' Hello darkness my old friend...

The Integra Type S has been called the best sports sedan short of 100k. Not sure why everyone is so adamant about putting the car down.
@@ItsjamilagainIt can be a good car but also disappointing by straying too far from what made the older Integras memorable. A name sets people's expectations, and if those expectations aren't met then people feel disappointed.
If they'd have just made it a coupe I guarantee there'd be less griping, even with lacking an NA screamer.
@@RatBürgerSk8 So you'd rather have a coupe than have a sedan that's as fast as an M2 on the street but with Honda's reliability and build quality...?
@@ItsjamilagainYou missed the point though, he's not saying that, he's saying they should have called it anything other than an Integra. It's very much not an integra at all 😭
The fact that the prelude will be a hybrid already killed it for me
You know what's also a Hybrid, the Prosche 918. I'd take that any day
It’s sad too see current vehicles. “Monstrosity”
Nolan and James' chemistry has gotten so good over the years! Love this duo!

My first car was an 89 Prelude 2.0 SI, had that car from junior year to when I went out to my first duty station. One of the best vehicles I’ve ever driven. Will definitely be taking a look at the new one!
The new prelude looks like it was designed by the same guy who designed the new prius
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed. I was waiting for them to say that it looks identical. It will even have a hybrid option too lol
I don't know what's more depressing, the prices or the amount of EV's..
They're both the same problem.
Manual windows are great
James's fleece with different coloured sleeves, and Nolan's fleece in the Z drive were both super nice. Donut's fleece game is on point apparently
Z NISMO is like R32GTR NISMO.
“automatic transmissions these days are so much faster”, i think the more relavant argument is people feeling the control and connection to the car of a manual transmission
The prelude concept kinda looks like the new Prius.
Glad I'm not the only one thinking it lol
Yeah but not as nice! Toyota is the pinnacle in affordable vehicles today.
Interesting that the ID Buzz is being released just now in the US, here it's already been out for a couple of years
Was thinking the same thing, they've been out for like a year and a half in Denmark
That’s how it usually is for EU based manufacturers
Yeah, super suprised too
Wow y'all gotta crappy car before us lol quit it mate. Y'all don't even get or muscle cars over there fn a
@@Ivan-b5c3k We have muscle cars in Denmark yeah, get your facts straight before correcting someone😉
Bring back manual starting!
I am once again asking for you guys to bring back Up to Speed.
Camerawork has drastically improved, great job.. Subaru owed you guys this sponsorship for sure lol.
Camerawork has drastically improved, great job.
I love the prelude, but I hate the fact that it wont be coming with a manual gearbox
Are we ignoring the fact the prelude is just a Prius with a Honda badge?
Really love the VW ID Buzz. See them all over here in Helsinki and surrounding areas. Thought about getting one until I saw they were going for 65-almost 80,000€! Nevermind
Damn, that Prelude looks a lot like the new Prius. Legit thought they were they same company until the end of that segment. Nice design, but too similar I think.
Yeah it can't be coincidence, both the front and back are almost copy paste just stretched over a coupe body
Honestly looks like a fire car, if I was in the market for a sporty practical car I would definitely consider it
James is looking great man, I’m happy to see positive changes!
Health is important :)
I 'm 67 and love you guys... When it came to the Corvette e ray test ride you sent me back to when I was a kid visiting my Aunt in Anaheim when both her and her husband were working for McDonald Douglas and were heavily involved in the Apollo 11 program. They used to throw some amazing parties where people like Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and top engineers of the program partied HARD. One of the favorite things they talked about was how they all claimed they drove much better when they were BUZZED... Just saying.... Wink wink. 😇😇😇😅😅😅🤣🤣
I dont care that an automatic can shift faster; a manual is just more fun.
“Fun” doesn’t come before safety. You can be safe and fun. This is happening and you cannot change it. All cars in the future will be fully autonomous with no available user imput, as they should be. We will eliminate human caused accidents in their entirety in our time. You should be glad. ☺️
@@BenjaminHartleyReturns ur 10 ply, aren’t ya bud
@@BenjaminHartleyReturns I don't care what I should be, I won't be. You know the Rush song Red Barchetta? I will keep driving my manual car no matter what and you won't do a thing about it. Some of the most fun things are of dubious safety but that's what makes them fun.

Being sponsored by car brands makes so much sense for these guys
The Manx would be super cool, but that price is the exact opposite of what made the original so appealing
My jaw dropped when you revealed that the Nismo Z doesn't come in stick. Nissan blew it. I *have* to think they will offer it later, like Toyota eventually did for the new Supra. If they don't, then that's just stupid. I also wish car reviewing outlets would stop pretending there okay with it.
For me, as a european, I am stoked for the Renault R5E. Especially the Alpine version, that will be so damn sick.
I need alpine to bring the a110 to the US
Really excited about the Prelude, the old one was awesome, hopefully the new one follows suit
Well it's a f**king hybrid so there's that 🤮🥱
No manual, no 8-9k rpm redline.
James looking super healthy and trim. Props 👏👏👏
That Prelude is an insult to the original
I wish I still had my Preludes. I've owned 3 4th Gen's and they were amazing cars. My last one had an H22A built, and would scream to 9k rpms!
My 1st car was a 1980 Prelude that I got from my aunt when she passed away. She brought it new so I was only the 2nd owner to it in 30 years. Miss that thing so much.
You guys have gotten so big that car brands sponsor you good job 🎉
The 750S 2024 sounded like Audi R18 TDI due to how fast the car really is.
The channel is run by a marketing agency who is in it for the $$
No shit they align with major brands because it's what the agency does
Doesn't matter what content is being put out
I actually like the new prelude. Don't love the grill, but the rest of the car looks damn good
Love my Honda's but I don't get what their current designers obsession with adding things that look like a bird beak to their grills.
Our team is gonna be working on an aftermarket grill for it as soon a we can get our hands on one
It looks like the 4th gen front styling a bit. Would have much preferred the look of the 5th gen. That car still looks good to me.
It's just Accord #3
I have not liked almost all Prelude noses after the original, so my reservations here are at least an authentic Prelude experience for me. :)
"All these things look the same to me!" LOL
James saying manufactures getting rid of manual transmissions is like manufactures getting rid of crank windows is so annoying to me
“We’re car guys we’re built different” laughs that the new z doesn’t have a manual transmission because it’s just as useless as manual windows. Sus😂
People are mad about the new Z being auto only cause they promised a manual at launch. I think they even said it would only be available in a manual. I totally understand why they offer auto now from a sales aspect but not having a manual available is just a letdown
They also should've boosted the engine to 500bhp.
I've seen ID Buzz's locally. They're actually quite cool to see on the road, especially as small business vans.
And none that are affordable and reliable!
Like when are we gonna see cars that a lot of people can afford and are actually fun to drive
People who matter can afford every car in this video. If you can’t afford things, stop complaining! You aren’t the target demographic. Be satisfied with what you have or better yet take advantage of public transport opportunities in your area. Be happy for those who can afford and enjoy things that are made today, you can live vicariously through witnessing their documented experiences. ☺️
@@BenjaminHartleyReturns As automation drives people out of jobs. The 'target market' your talking about will collapse. All automotive manufacturers need to reduce cost of production while producing quality compelling cars for less. Much less.
@@BenjaminHartleyReturns I couldn't care less what target demographic these car have, I am just saying I would like to see some budget cars made by good manufacturers. Because many well known manufacturers focus on the more valuable, more profitable cars.
And stop judging other people, and tell them what to do. Or do you think people who have less should be treated worse?
Note: I don't want to complain, I just think it would make a lot of people happy to have cooler cheaper cars. But I am in knowledge nobody here has the power to change what the industry decides to do.

Yep, it’s also about being able to control your power better too.
exactly. I hate the sell out excuses of “manuals are slow”. Just stop with the B.S. It’s a sports car forchrissakes
That Cadillac is giving MAJOR cyberpunk 2077 vibes and I’m all here for that
The Prelude reminds me a LOT of the new Prius.
I hope it really does hit the price point you mentioned instead of getting marked up to hell.
noooooo the truth hurts bro damn... I hope it changes to a high revving 4 banger even with a turbo, v6 or maybe a v8 for once lmao
It starts at €86k in NL 😂 has barely any range, so wayyy to expensive for what it is
If I had a GTD, it would play Doom, Rip & Tear when the door is open with the ignition off. At Doom's Gate when it starts, and fade to mute once in gear. Finally, BFG Division when race mode is engaged, until it's put in to gear.
with dealership markups in FL nobody's buying cars in 2024
Glad to see manufacturers are somewhat listening to the consumers and adding more personality back into these cars
I hope James is ok and healthy. It seems like he's thinned a lot.
He has had heart issues in the past, so I suspect he is playing it safe with a lean diet
He’s a junkie.
He had a heart attack in 2019. But my guess would be Ozempic.
If they cannot start selling cars cheaper, they will put themselves out of business. People don't need new models every year, but new cars are unaffordable.
the first car is a shame being a hybrid, "doomed "
Not just a Hybrid, a FWD Hybrid with a CVT … for $35k? 🤮🤡
I think that E-Ray is the sweet spot in the C8 line-up. That spec was even nice, aside from the grey leather.
I agree, I love how it’s unique in the way it charges the battery. If most Hybrids could be just as thought out like this I’m sure most would have that knee jerk reaction when we here EV
