Wanna impress your friends with a baller car on the cheap? Don't forget, if your friends think you're rich, so does the mechanic. 😂😂
My mechanic considers my 2005 VW Passat a luxury car. Like sure it's above the Jetta and shares a platform with an Audi A4 but it's far from luxury. It's like calling a Honda Accord luxury because it's above the Civic.
Excellent point 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🤣😂
If you roll into a shop with a 10 year old used BMW, your mechanic will know right away you're not wealthy. If he acts like he thinks you are, he's pulling your chain.
@@MrBezyBez I have an 05 1.8T 4motion Passat wagon. I'd say it is essentially a luxury vehicle. Full leather interior, massive amounts of interior space especially if it's a wagon, good build quality, it drives like a luxury car thanks to its shared platform with the A4 (especially if you have AWD), and many luxurious options/trims were available compared to other VW vehicles of the time including the very unique (and supposedly very annoying and expensive to service) W8 engine.
It was definitely a step above the accord you mention and the pricing matches this, the passat base model started at around the same msrp as the top of the line accord available at the time, and the most expensive passat model with the W8 was almost twice the cost of the base model Passat.
Of course it is also 20 years old now, so most newer cars are gonna seem more luxurious in many ways.
I have a close buddy of mine. Good thing he had 3rd party warranty. He bought it used. The warranty company ended up paying $24k in repairs

As head tech at a euro specialist shop I have a saying for all my customers. "While the car depreciates, the maintenance and repairs do not". I personally have an S65 with the hydraulic ABC suspension. Even with me taking care of it, parts are OEM only and expensive!
You saved me the trouble of posting about high line maintenance costs never decreasing.
What percentage do yall add on top of parts?

I used to work as a technician at jag/landrover in the UK, I can tell you from experience, the "Annoying electrical issues" on range rovers are not just "annoying", We had a '09 sat in the shop for a month getting diagnosed with a different electrical issue every day, It was bricked and wouldn't even turnover. Until one day a "red sheet" comes in and they swap the whole transmission, I was an apprentice at the time working under the diagnostic and electrical guy, Probably one of the most depressed people I've worked with, Scrolling through 160 error codes on a laptop and guessing what the real issue could be was hard for the guy with years experience working with the cars, I doubt if you buy a especially bad example you'd actually fix it.
That was an especially bad example, But it was common range rovers came in with electrical faults that would be in the shop for close to a week while the whole interior had to come out to check wiring harnesses and old corroded connectors, Seems the problem is mainly daignostics though, One wire goes bad you get 20+ faults. one fuse burns out you get the same. So it can be a simple fix, its just luck. Also the amount of special tooling jag/landrover uses is just diabolical there are some mechanical issues you just wont fix as a home mechanic if you're not pulling engines or can find the tooling.
Thing is with Landrovers is if you get a good one they're actually brilliant.
Its just that they're not as common as the bad ones and there's no way of telling if it's going to be bad or not, just pure luck.
160 error codes wtf??? i didn't even know cars had that many things to give error codes about
160.........I hope he still has some hair left cause I would've ripped all mine out
@monki2945 How bad are those f-types if you baby them? It's been a dream car for a while
@@matthewmckenney2247my friend has one . I recorded it on my channel. It’s effing breath taking
Note for the c63, they fixed the head bolt issue after the 2012 models.
Also note for gran Turismo they switched to ZF transmission on first facelift and the engine is more reliable
Now I REALLY want one, my late teenage year's wet dream
Ye it really feels like they’re kinda out of content and just wants to create drama. As with all of these cars, dont buy the first model years, there’s a reason why they’re half the price of the facelift
Range rover note. Turbo leaks, and charge tubes brake. Both jeremy and his friend both blew both turbos for same reason..
i dont know why they put it in the worst category when it`s literally a reliable car
The supercharged V-6 in the F-type is really reliable. It has one common coolant leaking issue that requires the supercharger to be removed to replace the part, but nothing a backyard mechanic couldn't do. And if it's already been replaced with the updated part or a metal one, issue solved. I have the same engine in my Jaguar XF and I've never had an issue.
🙌🙌🙌
Had to replace that part on an XF at work. Not too horrible to do at all.
I loved my f-type S but do really need to listen to forums about fuel injectors failing and do preventative maintenance.

As someone who drove a 2016 650i for a few years, I would agree. I dumped it at 99k miles knowing my extended warranty was about to end because there was NO way I was paying the prices I was watching the warranty pay to fix even minor things. Also this video is right, it's a fast car but you don't feel any of it. It was boring.
I have had a 2013 BMW 640i for about 7 years. got it used with 20k miles on it and for 7 years I put 80k miles on it and for the first time in 7 years I had to replace the water pump (which I did myself). I only had to do maintenance and replace flat tires from road garbage. other than that this car has been a gem. It's been so good that when I get a new car, I might buy another one.
640i uses the N55 engine which is one of the more reliable engines bmw have produced. They should've mentioned this. Anyone who knows anything about bmws knows 640i > 650i
I rented a room from a guy who bought a Mercedes SL600 v12 hard top convertible for 5k when he bought the house. after he bought it, the guy gave him a maintenance folder (good sign) and the receipts so far were OVER 100,000 DOLLARS. Msrp was like 130k , this car had 230k into it for 153k miles RIDICULOUS.
Yup. That's a Mercedes for ya. I work at a Mercedes dealership, and ever since being there about a month, I tell everyone I know to stay the fuck away from them.
@@Jeremy-kg1zrpost-2013-ish I would agree. The W212 E-class from 2010-14 was tremendous, one of the last good ones. 2014 and above is unreal how poor they're built.
Peak Mercedes (80's into early 90's) was absolutely special, I consider them some of the best vehicles made in history - especially the diesel variants.
Yeah that ABC system is expensive
@@SDE90 I'd mostly agree. I much prefer teh older ones. 90s and 2000s Mercedes feel better to drive than the newer ones. They've become obsessed with just trying to pack at least a few new senseless electronic bullshit things in every year. It's interesting to run the VIN on cars coming in for service. Never more than a recall or two on a 2012 or earlier model, that's been around for 20yrs+. I'm shocked if anything from the 2020s doesn't have at least 5 recalls already. And don't Ever make the mistake of owning a modern Mercedes out of warranty. Ooof...
@@SDE90 Friend of mine is big into mercs and keeping them alive, he said you get to a point with the older vs newer ones where it becomes rust repairs vs electronic repairs.
We both agreed, a good rust repair can be done by any competent person. An electronics repair with dedicated devices, computers etc is increasingly difficult, especially when one merc mechanic told me this year, that the ml series/suvs have to be connected online at the dealership to be worked on LOL. So until the aftermarket is cracked/hacked to allow home repair with lower cost devices (like common bluetooth OBD readers of today), those cars are off the market for most home repair people wanting to save a buck.
3 weeks ago I bought a mint 2014 Prius for only $1k to use as a commuter instead of pushing my heavily modified Tacoma towards 200k. It was the best financial car decision I ever made. Sometimes it just pays off being very nice to your retired neighbors.
Wow, that's a steal. I thought buying my friend's '12 CT200h for $4,000 in early 2020 was a good deal. Driven it 45,000 miles and will probably be able to hit 200,000 next year or the next.
Sweet! Toyota Hybrids are incredible cars.
NICE!! In 2020, I managed to get my hands on an '02 camry for $2,000. it needed some minor repairs, but after those were done, it drives like new. It still passed emissions testing even with 240k mi., and a catatlytic converter with no internals left(it has 2 cats). Still gets 30+mpg.
Hello I’m just here
Damn, you lucky bastard. Congratulations
Bought a 650i convertible used. Around 38,000 miles on it. Actually, got a lot of complements. BUT, N63 nicked named the hot v, puts the twin turbs in the valley of the v8 block. This had a tendency to dry rot the hoses, keeps the turbos in a hot environment, which caused catastrophic engine failures. I had zero issues with the engine for the time I owned the car. Likes to eat oil so you are adding oil in between changes. But the reason I sold the car was the electronics issues. I had the radio reset on me twice, but the alarm would go off randomly. The only way that you could turn the alarm off was to have the key fob open the driver's door and start the car. Turn it back off did not arm the alarm and fifteen minutes later its going off. Do the same things. Alarm wouldn't go off again until the next night. Then the next day while at work. After a couple months a couple oil changes and fearing for the doom of the motor I had enough and traded that car in. For a Cadillac ATSV!
Donut is literally talking about the S8 when i’ve been saving for one 😐 now i’m never gonna afford that car 😐
If you even search up that engine the first thing that will come up is it's ridiculous maintenance 😂 it's extremely expensive and only worth it if you have almost 10k every year to throw at it. You could build it to be more reliable but then are you better off just buying a better car at that point?
Just buy the jag or the cayman .. im gonna buy a cayman and then hopefully trough few years turn it into as close as possible to a gt4 with engine tunes and gt4 aero kits and wing .
I mean a slap in the face sometimes causes you to check the mirror lol
If you have you save up to buy it, you can’t afford it… get a V8 powered S6, more usable and just as much power!
Man, I doubt you'll like this answer, but if you want north of 400 hp and reliability go American. Camaros/Corvettes(at least pre C8) are just about the same basic engine design you have in a pickup, I have a 2013 corvette with the LS3 and TR6060 6 speed(T-56 Magnum sort of, bit lighter duty in a couple ways that the T-56 magnum spec). People may scoff at pushrods, but I can go from 0-186 or so MPH in one gear, yeah the red line is lower but the torque curve is wide and forgiving.
I bought a 17k used bmw 550i V8 twin turbo 2012 model with 87000 miles on it (manual transmission). In the last 2 years of ownership I've only done oil changes and fixed one leaking coolant pipe myself for 200 dollars in parts. Other than that I've driven it daily to work and had no issues at all. I'm trying to get the n63 high score, it crossed 100k miles problem free.
Glad to know BMW is capable of making *one* good example of that motor 😂

They REALLY are reliable and oh my god are they fun and comfortable. Plus it's actually doesn't get a bunch of the wrong attention because it was so understated.

@@sal5440 the thing is that he does not have the money to buy one so thats why he is hating
As someone who's owned that era of Land Rover, run far, far away. Those "electrical issues" basically mean every electronic component in the vehicle is going bad constantly, and because it's a Range Rover there's a LOT of electronic components and gizmos. The air suspension is iffy at best, and be prepared to constantly be replacing control arms and brakes. Oh, and did I mention the 14 MPG? Hope you like spending most of your paycheck on gas. The L322 is more reliable than a P38 (the prior generation), but that's a bar so low worms can get over it. The Jaguar engine era Range Rovers are supposed to have more reliable engines, but those BMW-era engines are really, really sketchy.
And those "vacuum leaks" they talk about with the Bentley are why it's so cheap. Specifically, one vacuum line behind the engine that is used to control the turbos, and is notorious for getting brittle and shattering. The only way to fix that is, as they say, to move one or two things out of the way. Unfortunately, that one thing is the entire front subframe, and that's at Bentley mechanic prices. Be prepared to spend more on fixing that issue than you paid for the car.
This for my feelings a little being a Land Rover owner😂
I was laughing so hard when they said "move a few things out of the way" - when probably 15 repairs on that engine are ENGINE OUT jobs 🤣
As soon as I heard them say they’d want the Land Rover I stopped respecting this video hahahah
@@SDE90nah, you all are over exaggerating things because the internet loves to do that. the main fault that this era of land rovers have is battery voltage related electronic issues. the 4.4 Jaguar sourced AJ engine is one of the most reliable engines made in the 21st century, I challenge you to look online and find me any common catastrophic faults the 4.4 has. they do not have timing chain issues, (updated strong tensioners) they have an MLS headgasket which can sustain very high temperatures before damage from a coolant leak, well designed coolant system, nothing outside of regular maintenance, I regularly see them on marketplace with 300k miles. these cars are very good to own, the air suspension is not that complex, and you all regurgitating the same legends simply makes it easier to find good long lasting examples.
most of these things you mention are the nature of any SUV, land cruisers also eat through suspension, brakes, and get horrendous gas mileage. you’re exaggerating the electrical problems, it’s not that unusual compared to other cars. the air suspension is also fairly simple and inexpensive, most of the times the original air bags are still fine 20 years later, they can go through compressors which is the most common air suspension issue and very easy to access/inexpensive. people want to feel “smart” by limiting themselves to certain cars when majority of these issues are common old car issues and wildly exaggerated.
The only gran turismos with an automated manual were the MC stradales and a few other special low quantity models, the vast majority of GT had the zf automatic torque converter box which is very reliable, the GT was probably one the more reliable expensive luxury coupe from europe of that era, not too fast but not that problematic to own 😅
Agreed 💯. Owned my 2013 since 2017. Purchased for $57k from dealer. Annual oil change etc is around $550. Other than that, if you drive it like an adult, it will provide you with constant enjoyment.
And that exhaust note is intoxicating! Friend sold his pristine GT w/ the automated manual for fear of imminent failure, but I lusted after that car every time it pulled out of the parking lot! 🤣
I have an '09 Porsche Cayenne GTS. The original sticker was $83k, but I got it a few years ago for $17k - I love how luxury cars depreciate! I save $$$ by doing my own work - I've had to change the water pump, thermostat, idler pulleys, and tensioner when the serpentine belt broke (my bad) - and I now am changing the CV axle (actually doing whole front end while I'm in there, as it will be a lot easier to do it all at once - control arms, tie rod ends, sway bar link). Even so, that only amounts to about $500 / year, which is not terrible - and this car is designed to be worked on. I do not like the 14MPG from the V8 - but it is a fun car, both on the track (with summer tires) and on logging roads in the snow in MT (with snow tires).
A lot of people who watch these videos have never picked up a wrench.

2:04 As an owner of a maserati from 2005, which has the same trans as the 08, the f1 trans just needs to be treated right, only shifting in the manual mode, putting it in neutral if you are at a long red light, and taking your foot off the accelerator when shifting, ive done most of the work to this car with my dad and weve had a blast driving it. the time spent working on it pays off in the end trust me. the sound, the high rpms, it all results in a beautiful car. i haven't heard of anyone spending 5k unless they take it to maserati and treat it like a toyota. its a high performance italian car with its quirks and that should be considered when buying one
As a F10 M5 owner, I would specify that yes the N63 is the one they are talking about, the later years 2014 and up are N63TU and most of these issues were fixed. Go with the 2014+ M6 or M5 instead it has the S63TU which all issues have been solved and engines are more reliable with the cars hitting 120k miles often. But there's a lot of misinformation with the Maserati and Gran Turismo in general. it takes less than 5 minutes to Google that most first Gen Gran Turismos have ZF 6 speed autos in the US. It's a torque converter automatic so there's no clutch replacement. The people that own or have owned the "first Gen" 2008-2013 Quattroporte and Gran Turismos know that they are actually extremely reliable. I owned an 08' QP and daily'd it for 3 years. My coworker Cummins came from range Rover in new jersey. His dealer was one of the importers. He would talk about the cargo ships that would show up with new cars that were driven on, that has to be towed off because they had too many codes to fix in the docks. He always said it was 10 to 20 percent
this is silly, most range rovers of this era do not have common random electrical issues, they are almost always due to surface level battery drain, clueless mechanics try to figure out every code when nothing is actually wrong, they are known for this and the fix is as easy as giving it a charge/regular use. this makes sense that during the shipping process there is lack of use. this is true for any electrically complex luxury car, the electronics themselves aren’t magically filled with gremlins, they use the same wires as anything else, but they are dependent on a very healthy topped up battery
I bought a $10k BMW 550i. It has the highly problematic N63TU. The only reason I was comfortable buying it was because the dealer said they'd give me a warranty. Which has come in handy five times in the two years I've had it. It's had well over $10k worth the mechanic bills already. It's a great and fun car, but do not buy one without a warranty.
I’ve seen so many 650i’s have issues, I’ve seen people spend $10k plus on issues when they come in the shop. Some of the biggest issues are the comfort access door handles internally short and blow the fuse which is also the fuse for the abs module. They all leak oil, even when you think you’ve fixed the leak they’ll leak from some where else. Turbo coolant lines are a headache and a 10hr job alone that’s really common. Valve stem seals are so common bmw has a class action against them for it and recently I’m starting to see the fuel pumps and modules going out intermittently causing random no starts or rough running issues. IF you have to buy an F12 6 series DO NOT get the 650i for your wallets sake. Get the 640i with the N55 it’s the same interior and body with a more reliable engine

The amg c63 headbolt problem was remedied halfway thru 2011. The problem was they were allen head leaving little material between the bolt and socket on the head of the bolt. They then updated to hex head bolts i do believe. Its a good buy. Watch alexs videos over it on his channel legit street cars. He used to be a mercedes tech. Ive learned alot watching his videos.
the Merc 6.2 sounds a LOT like the Cadillac Northstar issue witht he head bolts!
@BinaryLucid honestly, their videos are not to be taken as advice
I replaced the Headbolts in my 2010 C63; really wasn't that hard. Granted, don't do it buy yourself, I had two friends help me, but it still took at most 4-5 Hours. The C63 AMG is extremely underrated, and the Headbolt issue is overblown.
Actually the headbolts are not the biggest problem. I worked 2 Years for a 3rd Party Mercedes AMG Repair specialist, mercedes sometimes gave us their own contracts because not every mercedes dealer has amg specialists (which is overblown because any mechanic can work on a amg, theres nothing special why you would need training or charge 160€/hour for that lol). The Spur Gear and Camshaft adjustors and cams are toast at 130.000km at pretty much every M156 we got, when i worked there i did logistics and we were waiting around 3 months per 1 part, and before i left we waited 5 months until those parts were in stock again because there are no cams from mercedes anymore, theres a company which is producing them on order... The headbolt issue is a probability, the cam stuff is a certainty.
@@DarkSession6208 How can you tell those issues needed fixing, out of curiosity? I've had three (2012+) W204 C63s and one W205 C63 (now have a Lexus ISF, lol), and they were all dreams and had zero maintenance issues. Though they all only had 10-40k miles on them. I loved them dearly but also have car ADHD.
In 2019, I bought a $10K 2006 Porshe Cayenne with only 27K miles, and I love it. So far, only routine maintenance. Last month, I bought a 05 Audi A6 with only 32K miles for $8.5K, and I love it!!!! Both cars have clean titles!!! If you do your homework and follow routine maintenance you find some great bargains out there.

Not gonna lie those Jaguars are very tempting. I look at the Fpace R, Ftype R, XJR, XFR all the time. supercharged v8 for 20k is very tempting. but if i really gave no fucks it would be an F10 BMW M5
Bought an 07 550i BMW with 90k miles on it, had a code for cam shaft crankshaft correlation and some dark dark transmission fluid. I fully rebuilt the entire engine piece by piece with OEM BMW parts, rebuilt the ZF transmission piece by piece with all OEM parts, and after 1k miles the transmission went out of gear without any abnormal noises and hasnt been able to get back into gear since. Unfortunately taking it to a scrapyard in a few weeks. It was such an amazing journey but such an unfortunate ending. It had a 4.8L N62 V8. I didnt do any mods to the engine or transmission i just wanted a brand new drivetrain. First build ive ever done that drastically failed
Hey don't give up u should throw in a 6 speed ZF, would be a waste to junk that new engine
the 6 speed zf is really known to be a bad transmition on itself. manual swap it and you are good to go, or even go crazy and dump in an 8 speed zf.
Have the trans built by someone who knows what they're doing and it'll be a good car.
we know someone who has put 125k miles on a 2014 Maserati GT convertible with zero issues. He drives it every day and mostly on the freeway. The guys at the dealer said daily driving them and pushing it is what makes them last
My boy has that same BMW with hybrid turbos, a tune, and a few other mods and has been dead reliable. The key is being able to do some of the work yourself and/or having a good independent mechanic that doesn’t care if you bring parts (just don’t be cheap and compensate them). TH-cam and forums are the gift that keeps on giving. Just don’t buy a car you can’t afford to repair or repair yourself.

The reason the Maserati GT took so little time to develop is that it was based on a discarded Alfa Romeo project. So, no, it didn't take 9 months.

People sometimes call me a fake car guy...but having worked in car sales, car insurance adjusting, car logistics...I cannot look at fancy cars without simply seeing the "long term" costs of everything. Every single "fancy" bit on your car...is a $5K (if not more) nightmare waiting to happen. It was a consistent trend when I was writing cars, adding a piece to my software and my jaw-dropping, thinking "Holy crap...that piece costs how much!?".
I can appreciate fancy cars, and some people who have the money/time/interest to dedicate to keeping them serviced and running properly...but 90% of these cars are "eyes too big for stomach" purchases and end up being absolutely thrashed and abused.
While I have the money to go and buy something nice...I just stick to simple, low-end, manual transmission cars, and let the other people spend the big bucks :D
yup the 6 figure people are playing another game entirely. I dont personally see the need to go over into the "high end" part of line ups other than just a badge at that point. I mean are there actual enthiusasts out there that LOVE their RR if you took all the badges off? Maybe but you look at the mid range stuff like the M3 or S4's or C Class and you see people that dont care about he brand but about the actual product itself and how fun it is every day and who shake their fist when something breaks but lovingly spend those dollars to fix it

Good thing they weren't pushing a CVT sedan, eh?
i bought my m6 competition gran coupe 3 years ago. paid 50 flat in cash and havent had any major issues since. replaced a lot of baked rubber seals under some trim parts, broken LED door jam light, couple other interior bits, but overall i'd say its like 1200/yr ish in maintenance. Love the thing. Previous owner was super meticulous with it -- always on time with service but got it polished wayyyyyyyyyy too much to where the clear coat was destroyed so i did put like 6k into paint but don't really consider that to be the car's fault. again, comes down to how much money you have and how handy you are. for perspective, i make over a quarter million and do most of my car work myself but no way can i do engine-out at my place; so when that s63 does give me issues, i'll be spending 15-20 on a total rebuild since its gotta come out anyways for most major repairs.
So what you’re saying is get the 640i?
@@pachasnft9954 if you want fun, get the m6. The s63 is much better built than the n63, but it will still cost in the long run. Otherwise, the N54 is more reliable (lmao) and widespread. Only thing that i've had bust on that engine in about 6 years of ownership is the classic oil filter housing gasket so that was like 1400 in parts (did belt, pulleys, and hoses too) and 3 weekends to get it done.

As a former 650 GC owner and now M6 GC owner....I'll say that these cars are GREAT when maintained. I'll bet it's the fastest car on that list.
My dad had a 2012 650i convertible he bought in 2016. I loved that car, sounded great, incredibly comfortable, looked fantastic imo (black over saddle tan) and powerfully quick but not in a show-off way. Needed a lot of maintenance though--top had issues once, one of the wheels cracked, oil sensor problems... when the mechanic finally told him all the hoses etc. were looking like they needed to be replaced he sold it sight unseen to carvana at the height of that craziness for basically what he paid for it 😂
I had a 2012 and didn’t miss a beat in 2017, just a new switch. So in 2018 ordered a new one with just about all options. Was nothing but problems. 80k car and BMW in the end had to buy it back. I’ll never buy new again
Wrong about the head bolts in the C63. I used to own a 2012 and from 2012-2015 AMG fixed the problem and there was a recall for the head bolts. The problem was the head bolts were just made incorrectly. It’s an amazing engine. You guys make it sound like it has a major problem.
yea its an amazing engine with major problem cause bolt ons aloud coolant to enter in the cylinder heads so yes is a major problem
Thank you for your content. I cant believe the luck. I was going to order a air ride suspension from your store today for my 2012 Maserati GranTurismo S, but your review was so incorrect and totally not the experience I have had with my car for the last 4 years. The automatic does not have a clutch only the z manual transmission does, so you do not have to change a clutch pack out in the auto. I live in Alaska and have driven my car 70k miles back and forth from California to Anchorage on the Alaska Hwy, twice now. I will say the Ak Hwy is the best video game ever and the reason why I bought a touring car that in some places I have reached 185 mph. And time tracked my best 150 mph speed for 12 mins in cruise control. Its is so reliable I have added many formula dynamic aftermarket parts to for because this car costs me nothing to maintain.
It does 4.6 s in the 1/4mile not 5.0, it has been tuned to 500 hp with simple add on stage1 controller, exhaust mods, air intake and sport cats. I added upgraded sway bars, lowering springs and hub centric spacers. Cheapest car I have ever owned for the power and performance plus the reliability. I do all the upgrades and oil changes, dif oil change, new brakes, plus the 50k tune-up service myself in my garage, and I am no mechanic. V8's are easy to work on and this car is so simple to maintain.
So next time talk to real owners who have the cars and drive them hard like they should to get good facts.
Sorry but I will get my air ride direct from manufacture. l

Woop, 2008 Range Rover L322 3.6TDV8 owner here. I've been a fan of those cars for many years, so here are a few quick tips to get prospective buyers going.
If you rather save a bit of cash than get the latest and greatest, get the 1st facelift, those are from 2006 - 2009. The fanciest are the 2nd facelift - from 2009 to 2012. The later one doesn't have anything that important in terms of extra features, it basically swaps some lights with LEDs, updates a bit the infotainment system, and adds keyless start. Considering how much more the 2nd facelift tends to cost, I'd say it isn't worth it. Either way, I recommend replacing the infotainment screen with 10" one, they are sold all over ebay / aliexpress / etc for about 400 USD and are straightforward to install. You'll get basically an android tablet that fits as if it was OEM, and it wireless Android Auto / Apple CarPlay. Makes the car feel a lot more modern in my opinion.
If you want reliability and fairly cheap repairs, go for the 3.6 TDV8. It has good reputation and is the most common engine on the L322 so parts and mechanics that know them are fairly easy to find. The 4.4 TDV8 is the second best option, but if you need to rebuild / replace the engine - you'll probably have a bad time... Decent 3.6 engines can be found 2nd hand for about 2-3k USD, 4.4s go for two-three times more... at least in Europe, but that probably applies for everywhere because most L322 were sold with the 3.6 TDV8. That being said, the 2009-2012 4.4 TDV8 are the only ones that come with the 8 speed ZF, the rest of 1st & 2nd facelift come with a 6 speed ZF, which is pretty good and reliable to be honest, and it's not like the car is loud on the motorway / highway. Early models (up to 2006), like the BMW engine model mentioned in this video, come with a 5 speed transmission - avoid that, it's not good at all... Better to avoid all L322 that are pre facelift (before ~mid 2006). There are a few other engines available, the top of the line being the 5.0L supercharged petrol available from 2009 to 2012 (2nd facelift). Their major issue is with the timing chain, supposedly the tensioners give out and the engine dies if you don't catch it on time and fix it. With some preventative measures, they are supposedly fairly reliably considering the power output, but again - repairs ain't cheap on those.
There are a few range rover specific forums out there, they are a great source of information. I recommend you start digging in those for tips on how to spot a good car before you start looking to buy one.

I'll have to be financially stable in every sense before purchasing my first supercar. The best thing to do with your money is to invest rightly because money left saving will end up with no returns.
The best advice that i learned from Manny Koshbin is don't buy a Super or Hyper car until you have 10 times the price of it in your Bank account, when you purchase a Super car you add a car to your garage but u add also maintenance and unexpected damages that can happen in future
you don't need that much, as long as you have 250k to 350k in cash, and earn at least 40k plus is fine. It not like you are going to pay the car off, get the car, drive it for a year or two then get something else. You don't need millions of money to enjoy nice things. You just deploy a small amount of income to have some fun. Remember you are going to get this money back ( a good percentage) when you move it.
If you got 10x the price sitting in your bank account... you already making bad financial decision
Certainly, You need to get a financial planner to aid diversify your portfolio to commodities index funds, digital assets etc, to provide illumination and guidance in the financial markets.
It's crucial for individuals to diversify their portfolios, seek professional financial advice, and stay informed about market trends to navigate these challenges effectively.
