I'm a Grandmother of 5. If any one of them had cried and said "I don't want to go home", you can bet your last dollar, they would not have went home. No Way. I would have went on an investigative trip to find out WHY they didn't want to go home, IF I HAD TO MOVE Grandbaby into my house, UNTIL EVERYONE KNEW, GRANDMA WILL FIND OUT.

There is so much to learn from this case. For mothers who move men into their home. For extended family members, the signs were all there. For teachers and counselors, the signs were all there as well. She slept in class and always asked to go speak to the counselor. She begged her Grandma not to go home. She took showers for over an hour and always wanted to sleep with her mom. However, on that note, I think Madeline had given up on her mother. No help was coming from her.

One of the biggest red flags for me re Jenn Soto is the one white Croc (and also Maddie’s notebook with explicit drawings). One white Croc was found in the dumpster, one was in Jenn’s own bedroom.
Tell me what mother wouldn’t rip apart her daughter’s bedroom and the whole house to find any clue as to where their missing daughter may have gone. A diary, a runaway note, a notebook?
When Jenn and SS got back to the condo after they left the grandmother’s business office, they not only didn’t leave to search for Madeline, they didn’t even search in the home for clues.
A normal parent would have found the ONE shoe (that they both told police she’d been wearing), plus the disturbing notebook and called the police immediately.
My gut tells me that they both went home that night and got “zonked out” on pills and just went to bed. People don’t search for something when they know it isn’t missing.

There were so many other options for those sleeping arrangements than allowing……even encouraging your teenage daughter and a full grown man to share a bed to sleep.
A spare mattress/ fold out bed next to where you yourself sleeps . How much noise & distraction can a 13 year old girl make if she was next to you ? I understand anxiety but knowing my daughter was in a bed with a grown man would escalate that anxiety beyond belief.
There’s no rational explanation for this! None at all.
It’s a no brainer & something that should NEVER be an option.

So many lies and contradictions. Jennifer Sotto literally said that she sleeps so deeply because of the medications she takes that even her roommate sometimes can't wake her up while at the same time she sent her 13 year old daughter to sleep with her ex boyfriend because she needs to rest and Maddie needs help getting ready for school! That is absolutely ridiculous. If the meds put her out so much how would sleeping with Maddie interrupt her sleep? Maddie was not a baby.

Interrogators often twist words to get warrants and or leverage for later purposes. There's plenty of other stuff to vilify her on. But all the Jen pitchforks are going to do nothing but help Stephan Sterns avoid the death penalty..., LE knows this. One of the many reasons they're not prosecuting her. Madeleine’s story needs to be told and understood-“stranger danger” is understandably scary, but the vast majority of crimes like this one are committed by people known and trusted by the child and their family. A trusted person in this child’s life betrayed and killed her, and the adult who was supposed to protect her dropped the ball in the worst way imaginable. 💔

This is my question for Dr. John… How can we make it so that children who do tell are believed and protected? I feel that so many people don’t tell because they feel that they can’t because it will make the situation worse before it will make it better. Sadly, many times “telling” is just the beginning and it does not in any way guarantee that the child will be helped. Even calling child services in your state doesn’t mean what most people think it would mean and I feel that the public is completely unaware of how the system actually works and what actually happens when someone reports it. They don’t just run in and take the child out of the situation… instead the adults are made aware of home visits and interviews that can just further help the perp hide or explain away the abuse. How can we teach our kids to tell? Everyone loves to think that their child would ALWAYS speak up… but victims don’t just tell!

Every time I see a new crime story, I think there should always be a “lessons learned” session where we as a people sit back and take a moment to think how we can do better as a society. For example, we now have Amber Alerts for missing children as a result of a missing child. But more frequently, we see the same problems over and over.

One good thing about this case-it made me realize that I needed to say something about something I saw regarding my grand daughter and a male family member. My son was grateful and proper measures have been taken. This thing I saw was rather insignificant in and of itself, but then I caught rumor of something else, and my hackles were raised. If that wasn’t enough, my son saw something in the meantime that made him question, but as I said before, these things weren’t really anything; it was more the totality of them all together. Thankfully he saw the need to take actions of protection. When something bad happens, it is common for people to say or think, “there were no signs, no warnings! This person didn’t seem like a person who would_______!” I think that’s silly. I think signs are there, but we chose to ignore them. Jenn saw all kinds of signs, but she ignored them. Her own “mental health” and drug use was more important to her. She should not have had custody of Madeline. She was unfit. Too bad grandma didn’t push for custody. I know we all grow up with different value systems, but what kind of “mother” thinks that her boyfriend should be sleeping with her daughter? The neglect is astounding. The prosecutor may be biding his or her time, but Jenn deserves prison time for endangering the welfare of her child.

I want accountability at this point. Where are the charges against Jenn Soto? They do not need her testimony in the trial against Stephan, this isn't a case where you have to choose the lesser of 2 evils and spare one, because they have an absolute slam dunk case against him. Her behavior IS criminal. Her neglect and lack in vigilance, directly led to the endangerment and loss of Maddie's life. She pretty much served her teenage daughter to this predator on a silver platter, and I'm not even convinced she didn't know. She continued to defend and protect him even as her daughter was missing, and eventually found murdered, and it had become clear he was the perp. She's just as deviant and culpable in my opinion. And so again, I ask the state of FL, WHERE ARE THE CHARGES AGAINST JENN SOTO?????

What I find odd is, she claims she had a new job, and needed a good night sleep, yet, she didn’t go to work, when she woke up, went to the doctor, and came home, at 11 am and hung out with Stephem and stayed home until she went to school to pick up Madeline. So why the need for a good sleep on her own? She had from 11am through 14:00 to rest?

Thank you, Lauren for your support of this poor child. I appreciate your exposing the entire interview. It would be nice for this police department to give either one of you an interview to answer to all of us why Jenn Soto is not behind bars for child abuse. There is more than I have heard before that clearly proves she knew of the CA and was an active member in this CA. No justice, no peace. Any chance of having a lawyer answer to the law and why Jenn Soto has not been arrested and prosecuted for her role in this crime.

It means her mother is a monster . Even prisoners in prison, want to get their hands on child molesters because they feel that what they do is so evil and wrong to prey upon children, but Maddie’s mother doesn’t think that Stephan taking away her innocence and essentially sexually assaulting her is isn’t evil?
That statement in and of itself is shocking . Ti think that someone would actually feel OK to say that out loud it just tells you how desensitized Jennifer Soto is to the suffering of her daughter. She could care less horrible, horrible woman . The district attorneys office in Kissimmee need to get their shit together and go arrest her.

There is absolutely nothing in this life more precious than your child. Its gut wrenching that a mother could allow or facilitate this. I’ve been watching deep dives on other channels and I feel like Jenn sotos top priorities were sleeping 10+ hours a day, taking lots of meds and getting those close to her to give her as much “help” as possible. From what little we have seen of dad and stepmom they certainly seem to have been the clear choice for raising Maddie even if SS wasn’t in the picture. Jenn only has bandwidth for Jenn.
I don’t understand how Jenns dad owned this condo and allowed Maddie to be relegated to a partition in a common area while SS maintained his own private room for when he flitted into town to abuse Maddie and run errands for Jenn. Wake the eff up, people. Lots of people had to have known something was off. At the very least it was obvious that this little girl was no one’s priority.
