my husband stumbled across your toturital , and said it would be a nice stufed toy for our cats, you never said to close off each row, or to chain one after a row, my head looks alright, now im working on the body part
I didn’t say to do that because I don’t do that. I continue crocheting without chaining one. It creates a smoother transition when doing single crochets. It prevents the seam line that is created with the slip stitch and chain one that you are talking about.
Hey um im still struggling with the 6 single chrochet part at the beginning do you have any tutorials on how to understand how to do that?i dont understand what im doing wrong i keep retrying and making a blob

To anyone who wants a written version of the video;
Ill attach time stamps so you can follow along! :) this tutorial seems super lovely
I highly recommend using stitch markers at the end of each round so you dont get lost
St = stitch
Sc = single crochet
MR = magic ring
Inc = increase
Dec - decrease
TIV = time stamp on where this is in the video
(0) = number of stitches you should have at the end of the round
R0 = the round
x2 = two times
Head:
TIV; 3:40 - R1: 6 sc in mr (6)
TIV: 4:17 - R2: inc in every st (12)
TIV: 5:00 - R3: 12 sc (12)
TIV: 5:56 - R4: 1 inc, 1 sc (18)
TIV 6:46 - R5 : 1 sc in every st (18)
TIV 7:23 - R6: 1 inc, 2 sc repeat that until round is finished (24)
TIV 8:00 - R7-R10: sc 24 for rounds 7-10
(If this is confusing go to 8:00 in vid!!)
TIV: 9:30 - R11: dec ONLY 6 times, sc 12 (18)
TIV: 11:54 - R12: 1 dec , 1 sc repeat until round is finished (12)
TIV: 12:44 - R13: 1 dec, 4 sc ONLY x2 (10)
Add eyes around row 7-8 or wherever you feel would look nice
Stuff head
Body:
TIV: 14:05 - R14 - R81:
Basically 10 sc for 67 rounds
Stuff every 10 rounds so its easier for you
Tail:
TIV: 15:15 - R82; 1 dec, sc 3 x2 (8)
TIV: 16:24 - R83; 2 sc, 1 dec x2 (6)
TIV: 16:55 - r84: 6 sc (6)
Add stuffing
Tiv 18:15 - 1 dec, 1 sc x2 and then finish off your tail with a slip stitch, cut off excess

ok wait so when u mean first chain spotlike the one that is the first top one or the one below the highest chain spot
The very first chain you made. The one that is attached to the yarn tail. I hope that makes sense

6:16 I’ve been using stitch markers this entire time-
This helped me learn single crochet
I would love to do this pattern but how would you go about adding stripes?
You would just do color changes. If you search how to color change on Amigurumi there should be some tutorials to help you out
I think either because of my yarn size or loose stitches my snake is double the size
The thicker the yarn, and larger the hook is, is what determines the size of the end result.
thanks for this video! i’m gonna get the materials before making though
You are so welcome! I hope you enjoy the pattern. Don’t be afraid to ask any questions.
How does it hold up if you do additional rows to make it longer? Is it too floppy?
