Great tutorial!!! TY 👍🏼
Thank you!!
beautiful
Thank you!!
Is there a reason that you’re adding the chain one? Instead of doing traditional amigarumi style? I found when I was trying to do the pattern and follow along that my gills started twisting along the head and didn’t lineup. Is the first stitch you are making back into the space from the chain 1 or are you skipping that and working the first stitch into the next space..
Hi! That is exactly why I do the chain 1! It is so my rows line up perfectly. If you just sc into the next stitch you will create a spiral & your gills/arms/legs won’t line up!
Oh & yes the first stitch is in the same stitch where I do the chain 1! If you don’t do that it will also move the stitches one space each row and your fills won’t line up!
Thank you! That makes sense ❤ I love how cute this pattern is and am trying to make a pink one for my sister haha
@@anotherstitchtomake I love it!! 🥰 thank you for your question, I’m sorry it wasn’t clear in the video. I’ll try to do better next time!! Xx
Hey, love this and am just starting it but im confused on Row 18-20: ch1, sc X 18, sl st [18] do i repeat this sequence exactly for row 18, 19 and 20? Or just sc X18 for all 3 rows but at the beginning of row 18 do ch1 and at the end of 20 do sl st? Or treat each row exactly as written, meaning ch1, sc X18, sl st and repeat for row 19, 20? Hope this makes sense 🤣 i think its a repeat but wasnt 100% sure
@@brittanyann1634 hi! Yes you repeat ch 1, sc x 18, sl st for the 3 rows!
@@LoopandBillie yay! Perfect. I was afraid I was gonna do it wrong lol almost done with gills, can't wait to see the finished product ❤️
Ok, I'm left-handed, and normally, this isn't a problem. But every time I get adding in the gills, it goes wrong. The first set is perfect, but when I start set 2, it places the previous set on the inside of the head instead of the outside. I don't know why, I am doing exactly like your video, but it's not coming out like yours. I've had to restart this about 8 times now, and I'm starting to get really frustrated. Can you help, please? Thanks!
Hi! I tried this pattern and it was good until I was finished with it. I found that the chains and slip stitches on the body made a “scar” type of look. I don’t know 😭 you could see them. Did I do something wrong? Or is it the pattern?
@@allie.s24 hi!! It can leave a seam where you do the slip stitches, but in my experience, they are essential here for the gills & the arms to line up perfectly on the axolotl. I focus on tightening the slip stitch on each row by pulling gently on the yarn once I complete it. It has helped me to avoid this problem & I don’t get a seam or « scar » like you said once I’m done with the plushie! It’s only a matter of practice 🥲 I hope this helps!!
how big is this in inches? i have a project for an 18 inch axolotl and im trying to find a pattern i can multiply to reach my needs
@@Erin-zs7jt so fun! This one is about 7-8 inches long! If you use a bigger yarn it will be bigger or you can easily add some rows to lengthen the head and the body :)
The s.s. And ch method is very hard for me to learn. I haven’t used any patterns using it. I feel like a stitch marker would be very helpful for your videos to help the viewer. You might not need one but I think it would help on patterns like this
Just always make sure you put your stitch marker in the very first stitch of the new round 😊
@@jessicaeldridge4987 I appreciate your input! I will keep that in mind, thank you!
is there an error on row 12? shouldnt there be an additional sc at the very end before the sl st
@@colin4839 yes! You are right. Sorry about that, I said it verbally, but I forgot it in the text!! Thank you for pointing it out!
Guess who’s getting a big plushie😅
MEEEEEEE
Could we work this in a continuous round rather than doing the slst ch1?
@@rosemarie-graceorr1825 hi! I did the sl st & ch1 because if you work in a continuous round you’ll realize that the gills/arms/legs don’t line up! You can work it in the round, but you’ll have to change placing for the gills/arms/legs for them to line up perfectly :)
@@LoopandBillie ooooooh okay that makes sense! Thank you ☺️☺️ btw, this is such a cute pattern x
@@rosemarie-graceorr1825 thank you!! 🥰
What is the length of the plushie after being done?
@@daidjohn4783 7 to 8 inches I would say!
Hi! I have a question regarding stitch counts for the head/body. For ex: Row 2: ch 1, inc x 6, sl st [12]. Increasing 6 times gives me 12 stitches, so the slip stitch is creating 13 stitches in that row (when slip stitching into the ch 1). Is that correct? Or should I somehow be modifying this to end up with 12 stitches?
@@AshlynKoga hi! You should end up with 12 stitches. When you slip stitch, you do it in the first stitch of the same row (the first of the 12 stitches you just did). Slip stitch doesn’t create a 13th stitch it just connects the two stitches together. Then when you ch 1 for the next row, you want to make your first sc of that row in the same stitch where you did your slip stitch and ch 1, so when you add your gills, everything will be lined up. I hope this makes sense!
@@LoopandBillie Yes! This is the perfect clarification! Thank you so much!!!
@@AshlynKoga oh yay! Good ☺️
I'm confused. When I slip stitch on row 1, I have 7 loops. I used a stitch marker on the first inc and it doesn't match up after 6 incs
@@_hollowsky hi! You shouldn’t have 7 stitches, as the slip stitch only connects the first and last stitches together. After you ch 1 for the next row, you start crocheting your first increase for row 2 in the same stitch where you did your slip stitch.
Disculpa que medidas son los ojos de seguridas ? Gracias
@@cheliscontreras8466 son 16 milímetros!!

Row 12 doesn’t add up to 18
Add one more sc at the end before you ss

Is that no sew??
@@Mroma_143 yes! Even mentions it in the title hehe 🤭
@@LoopandBillie im sorry If I'm being annoying by asking this but how come there is a needle included in this video if it's no sew?
@@mistyy_.watterfxll hi! Not annoying. I use the needle to weave in the ends of my work in the last part of the tutorial (the tail), but you can also just use your crochet hook!
@@LoopandBillie also another question! I'm sorry for so much questions lol! But in the beginning when I do 2 sc and and increase, my project becomes extremely big- do you Know why ?
@@mistyy_.watterfxll do you mean in row 4? You should only get to 24 sc in that row, are you using a stitch marker to make sure you’re not going over?
