The customer service now a days is rly bad. I bought a Felicia that just kept losing hair😭 like I took her off on the box and left hair hairstyle in, then I would see her blonde hair plugs just sticks out of her braids…
Wow the fact that stores only wanted to sell Cloe dolls is so sad, I’m so glad the CEO blocked that from happening. Also the parents were doing too much. raise your kid and teach them right from wrong. I knew I couldn’t dress like a bratz doll at 10 and all of my friends knew that as well. like Isaac said the message comes from parents and I feel like they really wanted to say they didn’t want ethnic dolls.
It was always funny to me how MyScene would be labeled as the "safer" option for parents to buy their children, yet the MyScene dolls gave off a more mature vibe (also not to mention the web series is so similar to sex and the city).
My mum haaated barbie because of the stereotypes she has of being perfect and so she wouldn’t buy them for me. But I was obsessed with fashion dolls and when brats came out I exclusively asked for them for every birthday and Christmas. And she bought them. They hit so different that my anti-barbie mother didn’t mind me playing with them which imo is a win 😍 and guess what, their ‘skimpy’ clothes never once became more than that of a doll. Great video!!
Bratz dolls are really one of the most iconic dolls period! I had so many bratz it was ridiculous lol I’m glad my mother wasn’t one of those parents who believes dolls and celebrities should raise her children 😂 you hit the nail on the head with them believing “Barbie was the pinnacle of beauty”. Bratz,Carter, MGA and the CEO Larian did what needed to be done and changed the doll game 💕😊
Seriously, they're always complaining and whining about something and now that behavior was passed on to their children who are now entitled adults and cry about things like the little mermaid not being wh i t e
I love how in the cartoon they subliminally threw shade at Barbie having them play spies and people who would constantly try to take down the Bratz down to the name "Burdine" lmao because it was exactly what they were trying to do. Bratz still hold up to this day and it's funny that they didn't think it would become an iconic doll when it became just that and more. I loved the way you did this video, your editing is top tier.
My favorite Barbie shade was from Rock Angelz when the Tweevils are in the bathroom and Kaycee says "Burdine reminds me of that fashion doll you used to hit me with when we were like, three."
You don't miss! These dolls are so iconic. The "big head" Bratz head is how I learned how to do my own hair, I used all kinds of products and curling irons in their hair 🤣🤣🤣🫶🏽
Bratz are the reason I started writing songs cause I would listen to their songs on the mini cds on repeat and wanted to write some for my dolls! 😂 I ended up becoming a singer and audio engineer too. ICONIC 💕
I was obsessed with Bratz from age 9 to 13. I used to have about a hundred, playsets and the bratz pad. I ended up giving them away when I outgrew them which is sad. I only just yesterday bought an in box pretty n punk Jade, who was my favriote. These dolls were incredible. Variety, style. They literally set trends, I remember trying to copy the outfits. I was obviously a Kool Kat girl.
As a child, seeing these dolls made me feel seen but also watching like a TV show in all of the movies. They were the epitome of what I hoped I would become. And at that age when I was like twelve ten like going on thirteen I had never looked at a doll like that.
Bratz was my CHILDHOOD! I’m 27 and am reviving my love for these dolls today. I pin their looks as inspo on Pinterest and am even taking some inspo of their beautiful prints for my own products I’m trying to sell on Etsy! They’re helping me rediscover my passion for fashion, and design!! the last time I truly felt happy is when I had these dolls 🥹
I had both Barbie and Bratz dolls when I was a kid. I got my first Bratz doll at 5 years old. I also loved the Bratz animated tv shows, animated movies, and I even had the Bratz Girls really rock video game. My favorite Bratz is Yasmine. To this day, I use the nickname Pretty Princess because that was Yasmin’s nickname. I was still playing with my Bratz dolls at 13. I didn’t stop until I started highschool. I just brought the new Bratz video game at 28 years old. I still love Bratz to this day. ❤
Bratz, Barbie and monster high practically raised me when it come to my love for fashion💗💗Bratz was my fav growing up next to monster high where I had every Bratz animated movie, the clothes and the live action movie, and the dolls I even had a Bratz themed birthday party when I turned 6 years old and had a monster high themed birthday party when I turned 8🥹✨ And the Bratz car at 20:00 I had one as a 6th bday present and I had a purple one and I remember it playing real life radio station music💗like it played neyo and pitbull “give me everything tonight”🥰 Don’t get me wrong Barbie was poppin, but Bratz and monster high was just IT✨🫶🏽it included EVERYTHING
Something I love about bratz is that they also gave the main girls different eye colors, even made them purple sometimes! My favorite is Sasha because she looks the most like me!
I always loved Bratz because I felt so seen. My friends in elementary were black and Hispanic so it was easier to relate to Bratz as opposed to Barbie. The double standard with Barbie and Bratz is so apparent, but the girls who get it get it. This was my favorite video from you!
This video reminded me of a Brazilian Girlgroup called SNZ, they were basically the real-life Bratz in the 2000s. Look at the SNZ costumes and they were exactly like Bratz dolls. The members of SNZ were also inspired by TLC and Destiny's Child in terms of style and aesthetics. This aesthetic is very common with Y2K, in this current generation.
I remember the way they would describe the Bratz dolls and it would always anger me, because the way they described them was as if they were less than and that Barbie was "pure" simply because of the way she looked and for once it wasn't about the people who looked like her and it made them uncomfortable. I loved Bratz and still do because I felt seen when they were created and they made me loveeeee fashion lol
This video was INCREDIBLE!! I didn’t even know how deep things had gotten between MGA and Mattel, they were really trying to put MGA out of business because they had competition for the first time.. who knows what they did to smaller doll designers if they were willing to go so far as to try to shut down the brand to get ownership. I loved everything Bratz so much especially Yasmin lol I loved that all girls had someone that they could see themselves in, how they created more dolls and complexions for everyone consistently.
From a young age, I always thought that Bratz dolls were cooler and prettier than Barbie dolls. And I related more to Bratz. I had a few black Barbie dolls, which were basically white Barbies with brown skin tbh, but I had WAY more Sasha and Yasmin dolls (especially Yasmin, because she looked most like me).
I love Bratz and their diversity! I don’t want to sit here and say it’s better than Barbie because as someone who grew up with both, both brands very much impacted me growing up. But Bratz had those full lips and curves that made every little girl feel special
What I loved most about MGA was how diverse even their team was. I truly hat e how they would always call Barbie "All American" girl as if she looks just one way, them calling her demure and classy and Bratz just "urban" were nothing but micro aggressions. Bratz were one of the best dolls to be created, beauty, diversity and iconic. They really made other brands tap into their creativity, even watching this video it made me realize I need to get back into that and start back wearing more colors, glitter and mini skirts lol thank you so much for this 💞🫶🏾 edit: OMG I totally forgot about the mcdonalds bratz, lol I need to purchase those
Literally same to the wearing more color and glitter!!! I am pinning their looks on Pinterest as inspiration. Like I used to want to grow up and dress just like them. Now that I’m grown I have no excuse not to lol
I remember this time period so well! It was my childhood. You couldn’t shake a stick without seeing some kid with a bratz item. From decor, fashion, to toys, they made it all and slapped their brand on it. I recall them being so beautiful, and not noticing them by their races, but by their outfits and fun hair styles. It was only till I got older that people spoke derogatory about them. One girl saying “my parents said playing with bratz made you grow up to be sl$tty” and that was eye opening because I never thought of a doll line as such. I admittedly was more of a Barbie girl, but mainly as I was into vintage Barbie , and bratz were so new and new Barbie didn’t peak my fancy as much. But ironically, people said Barbie was the better option. Which is funny considering when she came out she cause controversy too, and up until 1991 was looked upon as vapid and not someone you should aspire to be. When bratz rolled around, the tune changed. I look back now and see LOL omg, although made by the same company as bratz, you can see clear inspiration from bratz. As they truly paved the way for dolls for an older demographic which Barbie left behind in the mid to early 70s. GREAT VIDEO!!!!
I remember asking for a bratz boyz when I was a kid ofc I didn't get one for obv reasons but now I started actually collecting bratz and bratz boyz and I've never been this Inspired and creative, I feel so represented by these dolls
@@iconicallyiconic My top three dolls I would play with when I was younger were Bratz, Monster High, and Ever After High. I love the dolls, movies, and shows.

They both wore crop tops and mini skirts, they all had boyfriends, they both had a mature look and style that would grab attention. Most of all, they made my childhood fun, so, I’m not taking sides

I had no idea about all this drama. I loved the dolls growing up and was influenced to be a fashionista. I ended up learning how to sew and make accessories for them and myself to match. Making little brown and black girls happy was causing this much drama. Thats wild. Im glad they were made.
Always felt that Bratz could’ve been inspired by Y2K fashion icons like Aaliyah or just turn of the century black culture in general. I guess I wasn’t wrong ❤
That comment of the lady saying that she didn't want her daughter to play with a Bratz doll because she doesn't want her to be a Brat reminds me of how Britney Spears used to be criticized by the way she dressed back in the day (let's take her schoolgirl outfit from the music video of ...Baby One More Time and her 2000 VMA performance of (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction/ Oops!... I Did It Again as examples) since most parents would complain and say things like: She is not a good role model for young girls because of the way she dressed. And somehow, this type of mentality influenced how the press and the media were all curious about Britney's virginity back then.
I used to be obsessed with bratz and probably played w them longer than I should have. Truly iconic, I still have my old dolls somewhere they definitely were and still influencing future dolls I love that. Also the parents thinking the dolls were inappropriate is crazy glad Issac said what he said. When I played with them I liked their fashions no kids were thinking they were too sexy lol
I played with my sisters' Bratz a little bit as a kid,, we even had the car, too...but I didn't fully embrace dolls like I should've, I was more of a Crayola girl, I always wanted a new set of crayons to draw with. Fast forward later on, most of the old dolls were thrown away, unfortunately (my mom didn't know I was going to get back into dolls, and said she would've kept them if she knew. Even though by the time I really wanted to get dolls as I got older, I wasn't allowed for some reason??). And some of those old Bratz that did survive ended up annihilated from me trying to customize them 😢Now I done brought some of the new releases, and the older dolls second hand online, cause I'm crazy 😭😭 (Even though I'm still trying to customize them)
Bratz colorism issue hardly having Sasha in stores commercials and deals after a certain point jade too tho lowkey Althiught nobody knew but fans knew she was Asian
When those people aren't the focus and center of attention, they go cr@zy and will copy, steal and do everything in their power to be the main focus. just like they did when Bey went into country, they want them and only them to be the face of everything and believe they're precious, little pure gems and alot of them have main character syndrom. Everything Isaac Larian said about them was true, the Bratz were beautiful dolls, and they didn't believe the dolls would get a big as they did and when they did it angered them, and they did what their ancestors did just like they're still doing. Stealing things and trying to pass it off as their own or trying to destroy it because they can't compete. - I loved this video and how you not only spoke about the Bratz and their significance for girls of color but also how it started and the way Mattel tried to take down the brand. this was a well put together video
I remember when I got home from school one day and for no reason at all my mom had got me a bratz doll. She knew I would love it 😍 Still one of the best days of my childhood ❤
im 27 and still collect Bratz dolls My birthday party is Pretty n Punk themed this year with my Punk bf. Im making him dress like a Bratz Boy and hes ok with it 😂❤ my best friend is even gifting me with the bratz logo as a tramp stamp I LOVE Bratz 😭❤
They need to have Bratz dolls and Barbie dolls a documentary I would love to see the Bratz and Barbie documentary I would love to see a documentary about the dolls
Surprisingly, one of my favorite Bratz commercials was intended for Spain. It was funny to me in that it starts with 4 like-dressed girls in the spirit of Barbie.
I had no idea, (about the lawsuits, and the copycat thing that went on with “Barbie”/Mattel. (I’m way old school; I grew up liking and having Cabbage Patch Kids, and a few collector dolls similar to AG, but a different brand.). My daughter, herself, has gotten into more dolls than just AG recently, and she wants to get a “Bratz” doll, now. And frankly, as a recently new (last couple years) adult doll collector, I want one, too!😂❤. Thank you so much for this well thought out, and intensely researched video! I really enjoyed it!
I actually think it would be cool if you made a video about yourself! Your style, how you developed it, favorite outfits and hairstyles and makeup you’ve don’t on yourself? Idk…totally understand if you want or remain anonymous 😅 But you are so fab babe. My type of girl…my husband even asked if I made this video lol. He was kidding but we sound so much alike. I can also tell your video skills are really improving too! May the most High continue to bless u my sister 🩷
at the end of the day, f**k mattel. imagine how big bratz would've been if mattel didn't sue.. also, offtopic ur voice is so soothing! just became one of my favourite youtubers
as a doll collector loved this video, the doll space would not be the same without them they done so much for the industry showing that not every doll brand has to be a carbon copy of barbie which i adore as someone who isn’t a fan of realistic proportions or just the typical barbie doll look!🩷
My friend had the golf Bratz and we would run around the house playing golf with the tiny clubs and balls with the dolls. Suddenly started telling all my peers my favourite sport was golf and I was 7 years old 😂 never actually played in my life
14:49 this ceo is spitting honestly. There’s no dolls that made me feel inferior as a child. But rags like People, Us Weekly, Cosmo, et all those magazines did that damage. It’s seeing Britney Spears being called a whale at a size 4. Not at the gorls my gosh
As a transwoman today I collect Bratz and my room it's Bratz themed lol I'm 34 I was 10 when Bratz were released and I absolutely loved them Yasmin and Sasha were my favorites! 💗 But growing up a boy my dad would be like "dolls are for girls!!" And My mom would let me play with dolls my dad passed when I was 11 so I could play with all the dolls I want lol I know I know dark humor my dad was a good man and today I believe he would've accepted me today and my mom definitely would too sorry I'm stoned lmao but yess when I was little I loved Barbie omg yesss I collect Barbies too but when the Bratz was released I instantly wanted Sasha and Yasmin 🩷
I loved the cartoon series, but unfortunately, some regions of the US were controlled by backward cable stations (definitely in smaller cities)and only show cartoons that were deemed 'moral safe'.The dolls were strange to me,but what put me off from buying them is the detachable feet with shoes.
I moved a lot so my parents didn’t care to buy me toys but I did have the luxury of having tech though. But girl your parents had money to buy you all them toys.
Well back then dolls weren't extremely expensive, they would range from $10-20 depending on the doll, if it was limited edition or if they came two in a pack and then they would have sales as well so $150 could get you alotttt of toys, dolls and accessories back then you didn't have to be "rich" especially if you're getting them for birthdays, holidays or just when you get a gift from someone
My sisters friend invented the Bratz doll. Mattel did him dirty.
*thank you for giving Carter credit. He’s a wonderful human being. *
Im so glad he got to work with MGA to give us the iconic Bratz doll, his creativity made me fall in love with dolls again and designing 🩷

the way the entire aesthetic of bratz is based of black and latina culture and they wanted only chloe dolls lmao

Soo nostalgic for me! These dolls were my life back when I was younger, had the fools, sang the songs the whole 9 🤣😂
And some of those old Bratz that did survive ended up annihilated from me trying to customize them 😢Now I done brought some of the new releases, and the older dolls second hand online, cause I'm crazy 😭😭 (Even though I'm still trying to customize them)
Bratz were my everything when I was a kid and still to this day. They really shaped me to be who I am today ❤
I just love the black "Bratz" dolls, idk why, to me they just have some special flavour to them compared to the other ones.
I love them to this day their cultural impact is so real 🩷💖 so many girls have brats tattoos
Bratz set the path
I remember when I got home from school one day and for no reason at all my mom had got me a bratz doll. She knew I would love it 😍 Still one of the best days of my childhood ❤
Thank you for making this
I feel inspired again
Now these were the original baddies. i miss playing the games and watching the movies 😭💜
Bratz paved the way for what dolls would become in the 2000s, 2010s, 2020s and what they will be in the future!
Im obsessed with bratzs ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
im 27 and still collect Bratz dolls
My birthday party is Pretty n Punk themed this year with my Punk bf. Im making him dress like a Bratz Boy and hes ok with it 😂❤ my best friend is even gifting me with the bratz logo as a tramp stamp
I LOVE Bratz 😭❤
I love bratz so freaking much my childhood i had the dolls the dvds everything
I’ve been waiting for this
They need to have Bratz dolls and Barbie dolls a documentary I would love to see the Bratz and Barbie documentary I would love to see a documentary about the dolls
Surprisingly, one of my favorite Bratz commercials was intended for Spain. It was funny to me in that it starts with 4 like-dressed girls in the spirit of Barbie.
My childhood ❤ I love those dolls so much, and I one day I want to make my whole closet inspired by Bratz
If you do another doll line can you please do the monster high dolls?! Those were the dolls that got me into dolls!
Bratz were definitely better than Barbie ,especially in the style department lol
God bless you for sharing the history of the dolls I love all them in there own way❤
I had yasmin ❤
THANK YOU
I loved barbie and bratz 💕💕💕bratz style was definitely more of my thing
um but who had the coloring and activity books?? i STILL have mine 8:26
This is such a good video
I actually think it would be cool if you made a video about yourself! Your style, how you developed it, favorite outfits and hairstyles and makeup you’ve don’t on yourself? Idk…totally understand if you want or remain anonymous 😅 But you are so fab babe. My type of girl…my husband even asked if I made this video lol. He was kidding but we sound so much alike. I can also tell your video skills are really improving too! May the most High continue to bless u my sister 🩷
Bratz my fav ever, I had every doll when they first came out. A year later barbie tried with myscene which failed miserably
You should do the My Scene dolls
at the end of the day, f**k mattel. imagine how big bratz would've been if mattel didn't sue..
also, offtopic ur voice is so soothing! just became one of my favourite youtubers
*Oh how I wish I was a child during this era.*
This video is so nostalgic for me 🥰 (also, are you a fashion designer?✨️)
I will say this as black girl growing up in the 2000’s we didn’t anything represent us I relate to the bratz more there were fly.
Luvvv thiss
I love Bratz ❤💗💕! They are stylish and have a passion for fashion 💕
Bratz and Monster High would always will be my favorite Doll lines 🩷🖤
as a doll collector loved this video, the doll space would not be the same without them they done so much for the industry showing that not every doll brand has to be a carbon copy of barbie which i adore as someone who isn’t a fan of realistic proportions or just the typical barbie doll look!🩷
Dang! I had nothing but Barbie Dolls. I wish I had the Bratz dolls! They were more relatable.
By the time bratz came around i was 12 going on 13 and was already moving on from barbies to pokemon lol.
I had the bratz doll head and I had the bratz phone
My favourite Bratz doll is Yasmin because she looks like me.
Oh I love Bratz
Mga vs Mattel is kind of iconic. Barbie would get lazy without competition
