Haha I had a trollz hyperfixation phase. You put a show like that on the Saturday morning cartoon line up in the y2ks and it was bound to be an obsession for me
Im saying this as a guy who never had these toys BUT had a younger sister who loved these kinds of toys, this was an awesome trip down memory lane, her favorite was definitely Bratz, right next to Barbie. She's getting married this year and she still has her collection!
0:13 guys what was this thing called PLEASE TELL ME!! I had one and I just assumed it was something I made up but was it actually real??? Also, I had that Garden Party La Dee Da Ladybug girl. I really liked her, I thought she was super cute! This is super nostalgic!!
One I've never heard anybody mention is Beatrix Girls. They were a Spice Girls-esque band of dolls who made songs and videos on youtube. I remember they were advertized a lot in magazines here in Sweden.
You really brought back memories of me watching Trollz as a kid! As much as I loved the Cartoon as s kid, I never liked how their dolls looked. This whole video feels like a wonderful Y2K capsule
Okay so I turned on this video hoping that “Mystikats” would get mentioned. For years I remember this one advert that I saw as I child describing their powers but never knew what to look up to find more information. Now I can rest knowing it wasn’t just some weird thing I imagined one Saturday morning.
Ngl as a doll collector i have heard about most of these lol ( not as expensively so it’s still a interesting watch) I actually was opening a new doll while watching this video 🤭 but its cool to see doll media from a content creator who’s main focus isn’t dolls
I’ve just started collecting (I’ve always loved researching fashion doll history but I’m more interested in collecting bjds and vintage dolls) so I’ve heard of all of these except that one scented doll line that isn’t yummilicious (though I saw the art for them on a doll collecting blog some time ago, it’s so cute!) and I love Tessa’s videos on dolls as well! Her production value and dedication to researching dolls really astonishes me and she does such a favor to the doll collecting community and for nostalgia lovers in general
I had these fairy dolls with sparkly gel filled wings. They had polly pocket style clothes and came with a horse drawn flower carriage . To this day I can’t find them online or remember what they were called! 😢 I used to love them! Early 2000’s era ❤
I actually own quite a few prototypes for Pinkie Cooper! I have some dolls, some of the pets and different ears for them, some prototype clothes and a lunchbox! I don’t know what collection some appear to be from but I have the cabana cool saint tropez ginger that you think is sooo ugly XD
My main gripe with dolls, no matter which line, is articulation. If it doesn't have at least 9 points of articulation (head, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees) I refuse to buy any. One of the things I hated as a kid was not being able to sit my dolls on a chair or pose them and it really grinds my gears what barbie has done with the fashionistas, which is their most diverse and affordable doll line.
I had a London Pinky Cooper doll!!! She was literally my favorite doll I had ever owned and I brought her with me quite literally everywhere. I very creatively named her London. I miss her so much now you brought it up!!!!!!!
this was such a nostalgic trip! I had a trollz doll with the gemstone, a TY girlz, so many yummi-land dolls, a kuu kuu harajuku, and a teen tends doll!!!
This video was super interesting! Man there seems to have been a ton of 2000s doll lines with tie-in websites lol, can’t really complain though since those were peak childhood nostalgia 💝✨
I still own the five main Trollz dolls until now. They are really underrated and I remember how obsessed I was with the show and the website when I was still closeted in school 😂
Omg the part about the Yummi Land dolls coming in packaging shaped like soda bottles dug up an olddd memory for me. Which is wild because I don't think I had the packaging for long. I remember only having the orange creme doll.
I don't even collect and now feel very passionately about the Novi Stars being rebooted. Those doll designs are so cool. I watched this video because the Monster High movies were good enough to get me looking into the dolls and finding an appreciation there. I think considering that those dolls are still doing well, now is definitely the time for an alien doll line.
I remember the video that first introduced me to your channel was a ranking video of dolls from the 2000’s; it’s kind of nostalgic for me now. It’s nice seeing you revisit the topic again from a different angle. I hadn’t heard of many of these doll lines before, so thank you for the interesting and informative video.
Scent stars are soo cute! Even though their heads might be a little too large for their bodies, the designs are adorable, also, i really like that they move away from this big eyes-no nose - big lips face pattern. This line seems unique and fun, i would love them as a child!
Surprisingly, I knew or saw many of the dolls presented in the video, and I even have some. Flavas are my favorites, I am very glad that I have one. Catwalk Kitties is my unattainable dream so far :"0
Didn't know the kuu kuu harajuku girls were supposed to be Gwen Stefani merch 😂 I was given a character perfume bottle that I still have and never looked into it 😅
Oh wow, thank you! Your video about iconic dolls of 2000's is my favourite, and the next one alike is a gift! Although I wasn't even that much into dolls as a kid 🤭
Oh my god this unlocked some memories and validated that i didn’t make all these dolls up! As a kid, the iconic Fanta commercials and the Flava dolls were for some reason inextricably linked in my memories and in how i played with the dolls, but none of my friends knew what tf i was taking about years later when i tried to describe either phenomenon 😂
I'M SO HAPPY YOU MENTIONED SCENT STARS! I had the rose scented doll growing up, but as an adult I couldn't remember what the name of the doll line she came from was. I've been searching for the name of the doll line for YEARS! Thank you for finally giving me the answer I've been looking for.
OMG I LOVED THE BRATZILLAS HELLO??? I THOUGHT IT WAS A FEVER DREAM. i still remember the commercial song and i NEVER got one despite constantly asking for one
I miss Trollz for some reason. I always remembered seeing commercials for their cartoon and the dolls but I never bought them, even though I thought they were cool lol.
Pinkie Cooper and Bratzillas were the only discontinued dolls on this list that I actually remember seeing commercials for AND watching their webseries. I preferred Bratzillas cause I was super obsessed with witches at that point in my life. I never did get to have one and was heartbroken when their line was discontinued. I still think there’s a glimmer of potential there, but I do understand why they didn’t stand a chance. When your competition is Monster High, you never could win.
I remember secret central!!! I had so many of them and loved making act out little high school dramas, basically spent hours making my own version of degrassi
32:55 the Kuu Kuu Harajuku dolls used by HeXtian for creating an OOAK like Betty Boop, The Powerpuff Girls (Blossom, Bubbles & Buttercup) & Princess Morebucks/Powerpuff Princess with his own styles
I'd love a part 2!!! i'm always so amazed about the reasearch that you must go trough for creating these type of videos. Are you a doll collector? Cause this kind of interest can't be from someone who is a casual doll admirer xx
Just for funs' sake: - My mom had a Troll doll as a kid, they were apparently very popular in Finland in the 1970s (PS. We are NOT Scandinavian) - I've been to the Trollz website - I'm pretty sure I've also been to the TY Girlz website, but the dolls don't look familiar - the neighbor's girl was always immediatelly into new dolls on the market and had a Flava (the white one), Courtney from Teen Trends, several of the Bratz spin-offs (incl. a Bratzillaz doll) - I NEED the last dolls! I love space and scifi and those look so cool!
Core memory unlocked, I had the purple Trollz doll! My parents bought it for my while at vacation by the seaside. I still remember playing with her headless intercheangable bodies. I also had Scent Stars Lily and to this day I remember her nice smell! I'm also pretty sure I had Yummi-Land one, I remember the bottle, not which doll I got though. I think it was one of the red ones? Thank you so much for this video, it took me back to my childhood ♥
My oldest sister had a teen trends doll when she was little. The doll was lost by the time I got to it, but I remember playing with the closet and the chihuahua. I just really liked sliding the letters around on the dogs collar lol
I LOVED the ty girls website. The dress up games were all i played but to be frank, I'm surprised no one complained about how risque some of the clothes were for a tweens website.
As someone who collects Hello Kitty TYs I wasn't expecting to find a new doll I need in my collection in this video till you put up the picture of the TYGirls Li'l Ones and I spotted the HK one 😭 off to Ebay i guess she's so silly. Great video I really enjoyed it

Small correction, the picture you showed for Carter Bryant in the Pinkie Cooper bit is actually Isaac Larian, the founder of MGA. He has a history of taking credit for the designers' works so he comes up when you look up the creator of most MGA brands
I'm so excited for myscene to comeback this year!!!
They're coming back?? 😀
@@squirtle7G1 yeah! they’re releasing collector dolls based on the original wave of the first three dolls
@jvluv3322 Wow!! When are they coming out?? 👀
As a professional doll designer I love seeing these type of videos shining a light on some obscure lines! Novi stars was so ahead of it’s time.
I can hear the KUU KUU *pause* HARAJUKU
gwen Stefani did what she had to (appropriation)
Come on now!
HJ5! HJ5! HJ5 will come alive!
The way I loooooved Trollz back in 2006, going on the website to dress them at the mall in the new McDonald’s line 😂
Anyone remember the What's Her Face dolls. They were faceless dolls that came with stampers to add on the faces you wanted. Plus they were bald with wigs to change out.
Yep. And Betty Spaghetty but I think that might have been 90’s.
@@skyofthelivingdead Definitely still in the early 2000s. Probably the last time I would have seen them in store (at least in Australia) was 2004-ish.
Bro as a young girl in 2014, I swear I could not escape the “KUU KUU, HARAJUKU” theme song, to the point I can literally hear it in my head to the exact way Gwen sang it
I used to watch Trollz every Saturday morning in elementary school! Such a fun show! It totally deserved more than one season!
Omg, I remember the dog thing-ys 😭😂
Pinkie Cooper
I don't!! This was not the video I expected to be jump scared by furries - Kids Bop edition! And the horses... Oh GOD, the heeled horses😱
@@impposter560 do you feel jumpscared by furries whenever you see Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny too? 😁 Pinkie Cooper were just dolls for kids, nothing more outrageous than that
"my God they're horrendous" got me rolling on the floor 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Omg as a monster high collector i cant not love bratzillaz they r so cool
I would spend all day listening about weird doll lines, please continue this!
I remember yummiland, ladeeda, bratzillas, and Novi stars.
i visited the ladeeda site everyday 😢
I do too!
Sorry, but, to be true with you, I only didn't know 3 of these, Scent Stars, Struts, and Secret Central. Really show my doll knowledge there.
I know of some of these only because of TH-cam doll channels, and animation channels.
I remember Flavas! I was eight when they came out and one of my standout childhood memories was seeing them in the store.
Omg I had Siva (Mysticats) when I was little and I have been trying to figure out what she was for foreverrrrr thank you
0:13 guys what was this thing called PLEASE TELL ME!! I had one and I just assumed it was something I made up but was it actually real??? Also, I had that Garden Party La Dee Da Ladybug girl. I really liked her, I thought she was super cute! This is super nostalgic!!
Pixel Chix!
One I've never heard anybody mention is Beatrix Girls. They were a Spice Girls-esque band of dolls who made songs and videos on youtube. I remember they were advertized a lot in magazines here in Sweden.
One of the only reasons I remember Secret Central is because there was a commercial for them on the Mean Girls DVD, which I always found odd.
I was obsessed with that commercial 😂
I remember trollz. Before steven universe, trollz got me into gemstones
I love Steven Universe! 💎🩵
You really brought back memories of me watching Trollz as a kid! As much as I loved the Cartoon as s kid, I never liked how their dolls looked. This whole video feels like a wonderful Y2K capsule
Was I born in the 2000s? No, but will I watch a whole vid on discontinued doll lines from the 2000s? Yes. 🙌
Jesus christ this comment made me feel decrepit
@@nixienooo Same lol
...Please tell me this comment means you were born earlier than the 2000s 0_o
Okay so I turned on this video hoping that “Mystikats” would get mentioned. For years I remember this one advert that I saw as I child describing their powers but never knew what to look up to find more information. Now I can rest knowing it wasn’t just some weird thing I imagined one Saturday morning.
I still to this day weep over the discontinuation of novi stars😭me and my sister were huge fans and went nuts for them.I beg that they come back🙏🏾
There's no way you just named Trollz in this list. There was even a TV show. It was SUPER popular.
Are you thinking of shoe fairies?
I actually own quite a few prototypes for Pinkie Cooper! I have some dolls, some of the pets and different ears for them, some prototype clothes and a lunchbox!
I don’t know what collection some appear to be from but I have the cabana cool saint tropez ginger that you think is sooo ugly XD
My main gripe with dolls, no matter which line, is articulation. If it doesn't have at least 9 points of articulation (head, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees) I refuse to buy any.
One of the things I hated as a kid was not being able to sit my dolls on a chair or pose them and it really grinds my gears what barbie has done with the fashionistas, which is their most diverse and affordable doll line.
omg i totally forgot about the trollz show. i loveddddd that one
I had Trollz ❤ I figured out very early that I much preferred Purple to Pink and alternative fashion, so Onyx was my clear favourite 😅
Remember Moxie Teenz?
Oh my gosh! It’s you, I like your videos. I also don’t remember Moxie Teenz, but I remember Moxie Girlz.
Y'all making me remember a whole bunch of different dolla
They go for A LOT of money online now.
I only remember them for the advertising in stardoll omg
I had a London Pinky Cooper doll!!! She was literally my favorite doll I had ever owned and I brought her with me quite literally everywhere. I very creatively named her London. I miss her so much now you brought it up!!!!!!!
this was such a nostalgic trip! I had a trollz doll with the gemstone, a TY girlz, so many yummi-land dolls, a kuu kuu harajuku, and a teen tends doll!!!
I absolutely LOVED novi stars
This video was super interesting! Man there seems to have been a ton of 2000s doll lines with tie-in websites lol, can’t really complain though since those were peak childhood nostalgia 💝✨
I still own the five main Trollz dolls until now. They are really underrated and I remember how obsessed I was with the show and the website when I was still closeted in school 😂
Need a part 2!! I so enjoyed watching this, your research, editing, commentary.. just everything was amazing!
It’s my favorite video from hers as well!
Scent stars are soo cute! Even though their heads might be a little too large for their bodies, the designs are adorable, also, i really like that they move away from this big eyes-no nose - big lips face pattern. This line seems unique and fun, i would love them as a child!
I have dolls from four of these lines (Pinkie Cooper, La Dee Da, Bratzillas, and Novi Stars)
Surprisingly, I knew or saw many of the dolls presented in the video, and I even have some. Flavas are my favorites, I am very glad that I have one. Catwalk Kitties is my unattainable dream so far :"0
I have looked for the Diva Starz flash games casually on and off for years! And just a splash of them in your intro answered for me! I'm so happy haha
I love how thorough you are with the research on certain topics! Would love the part two❤
I love your commentary on the nostalgic. I would be so happy if you did a video on all the different bratz dolls launches and your thoughts on them.
Trollz is a legacy I can never forget. I actually watched my fair share of the cartoon episodes.
I actually thought Flavas was cool 😭
i used to have the yummi-land carrie cherry doll! She kept the original scent for yearsss. Such a throwback!
the way i SCREAMED when you showed the trollz show! that was buried so so deep in my mind, i cant beleive it
Didn't know the kuu kuu harajuku girls were supposed to be Gwen Stefani merch 😂 I was given a character perfume bottle that I still have and never looked into it 😅
Oh wow, thank you!
NEVER CLICKED SO FAST! FINALLY A NEW VIDEO!!
Omg thank you! I've been thinking about Secret Central for years and not remembering what the name was 😭❤️
I was a fan of the Trollz tv show, I’d watch it every Saturday morning but I never knew they had dolls! Lol
ty girlz, trollz, yummi land, and la dee da were my absolute favs as a kid. i still have some of all of these
I actually remember owning ty girls, good old days ❤
The way I DIDN'T know that trollz and the movies of them WERE THE SAME basically 😭
Dang it, I need a Novi Star bad. Sad I had a few dolls on this list but not these days. A flava and a secret central. XD
I remember really wanting the novi stars and seeing the soda pop doll commercials as a kid. I think the bottle designs were so cute
I was DEVASTATED when Trollz were eventually never to be seen again 😭😭😭
OMG I LOVED THE BRATZILLAS HELLO??? I THOUGHT IT WAS A FEVER DREAM. i still remember the commercial song and i NEVER got one despite constantly asking for one
I miss Trollz for some reason. I always remembered seeing commercials for their cartoon and the dolls but I never bought them, even though I thought they were cool lol.
The Diva Stars website!!! Gosh! Those games were so much fun!!
Oh my God this gave me so much nostalgia. I was never much of a doll person as a kid, but I was OBSESSED with YummiLand.
Niche doll lore is so interesting to me, I’d absolutely love a part 2
I remember wanting yummi land and secret central dolls as a kid, plus I owned a few novi stars dolls and even drew my own designs.
I loved my Scent Stars sooo much, I thought they were so cute 🥰 In France, they were named "Parfumelle".
Loved this video & I loved the Flavas line, as a adult i still have mine in box lol its a piece of history to me
Just for funs' sake:
- My mom had a Troll doll as a kid, they were apparently very popular in Finland in the 1970s (PS. We are NOT Scandinavian)
- I've been to the Trollz website
- I'm pretty sure I've also been to the TY Girlz website, but the dolls don't look familiar
- the neighbor's girl was always immediatelly into new dolls on the market and had a Flava (the white one), Courtney from Teen Trends, several of the Bratz spin-offs (incl. a Bratzillaz doll)
- I NEED the last dolls!
I just really liked sliding the letters around on the dogs collar lol
pinkie cooper at the beginning unlocked some memories for me. I had no idea about the comic but it seems right up my alley
Great video I really enjoyed it
The Pinkie Cooper comic made my draw DROP.
