      My thoughts exactly. He's thrown brand new filament at a brand new printer and is saying "wow this filament is amazing" but I've had nice filament get cruddy after months of sitting in storage, and $8 1kg rolls from aliexpress printing just as well when they're brand new compared to other 'high end' materials. Not to mention this printer is known for being excellent....

    • @MarkWheadon
      @MarkWheadon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Kinda - although things like the same temperature isn't a fair test. Filaments need to be printed at their lowest optimal temperature for fair test of quality (or sometimes hotter for more gloss, etc.).

      Don't get me wrong, it's great that people are pushing for "problem-free" printing, but I predict they're going to have trouble competing with prices like that. Per-weight it's more than double the cost of $20/kg PLA, and compared to AmazonBasics "Premium PLA" (which is cheap +-0.05mm stuff, granted, but I've had great experiences with it and minimal fuss) it's still double the cost.

      My thoughts.... those prints are from people that probably fine tuned the file to make sure you got the best print possible, kinda like the dog print that comes with the Ender 3 (which prints up great, but anything else you make/slice yourself doesn’t have as nice of a finish). Also, if the files are already sliced and ready to print (in gcode), doesn’t that mean the factory settings on the printer get replaced temporarily by the gcode file of the print you are printings? I really doubt the factory settings on the CR6 are actually being used.

    Since you asked: I, for one, would not be interested in seeing more about this filament because while it is extremely nice PLA, it is still PLA. The mechanical and environmental requirements of my designs are such that I long ago moved to PETG. I would be interested in learning of new brands of PETG that are similarly beautiful and easy to print. Bonus points if they come on a master spool -- I am drowning in spent spools.

      Elliott Dyson turned out about as good as anything has ever printed, so amazing. Did Benchys in all the colors and they’re spot on.

    Yes, please make a video comparing this filament and if you could compare those models with different filaments on the same machine to see how results change? That could be awesome information for those of us who have backed the CR 6 SE

    GREAT video. Two things. 1- Would love to see the SpiderMaker review on other machines. Second, I would love to see those models ( well some of the ) made on another machine ( Ender3, CR10, common non-Resin machine) with default / tweeked settings to see if the CR-6 is contributing to the great prints you got.
    thanks again, more videos like this would be great.

    Yes please to trying those filiments on different printers. Need to know if it's the printer or the filiment that produces those amazing results.
    Especially on an Ender 3, which is what I have. ;-)

    I'd love to get a review on that spidermaker filament with different printers! I'm still rocking a Maker Select v2.1 over here and wanna know if this is just a creatality thing or if it'll be good for my old clunker, too.

    quick question, is it bad to remove a spring steel print surface and flex it while it's still hot?
    I'm wondering if that's why the one for my prusa mini is a little warped now (It's warped between the mesh bed leveling points, so it can't compensate)

    Yes please, reviews of filaments are great when I've already brought a printer and want to get better quality prints. I'm printing with Amazon Basic at the moment so I'd love to see what a small extra cost of filament would do to improve my print quality

    I really want to get into 3D printing but I missed the kickstarter for the CR6 SE. Would it be worth it to be patient and wait for the release or should I try my luck on something like an Ender 3 V2

      I just got an Ender 3 Pro to play with, and I have an Ender 3 V2 in the box to check out too! I'm getting decent prints off the Pro, hope to see the same for the V2.

  • @Mupp66
    @Mupp66 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes! The breakdown of the filament is needed if that is your result. Can you include the Ender 3 and other popular printers if it is just the printer or the actual filament that creates amazing results?

    Hey Joel! I’m a newbie in terms of printing and just bought my first printer (artillery sidewinder x-1) And I’ve found some models which should be print in place and fit together, but they don’t seem to be printing with the tolerances. I’ve tried lowering the extrusion rate and that’s helped a bit but I think this is not the correct way to fix this, is there any tips u can give? Thank you!
