I have to say, I am super thrilled about all the Xmen omni reprints this year. Been wanting volumes two and three for a while! But also, just as much, I’ve been waiting for reprints of Amazing Spider-Man Omnis volume two and three. Hopefully we will see those in 2021! I picked up volume four when it came out in hopes to get around to once the others come back around in stock and when volume one came out I picked it up immediately and read through it very quickly. One of my favorites I own!
Love Jack Knight! I was lucky enough to get my V.1 HC signed by James Robinson and got Tony Harris to do a cool Jack Starman sketch inside. Both were great to visit with also, especially James, he's exactly like you'd expect, dude loves talking about old stuff, just like in the old Starman letters pages.
Happy Birthday Omar!. Another wonderful video. Currently catching up on George Perez run of Wonder Woman b4 starting the Gail Simone run. I would love to check out Starman next and Uncanny X-men omnibus vol 3 will be on my list once its solicited.
Sandman is the first comic book I specifically bought to start a collection, basically the beginning of my collection, but that was so long ago I forgot what it was about, which is great because I get to be mindblown by it all over again!
Love the selection you offered there! Nice mix of the big two, indies and even foreign books. I was gonna pick up all of Sandman and Marvels anyway in April, but now you've gotten me REALLY HYPED for them. Also, GOD I wish they would re-release that Starman run in trades so I can read them. (As I said before I can't read HCs, cause they tend to break the magnifying glass I have to use for reading)
Thank you for highlighting Life amd Times of Scrooge as an American. Don Rosa is so overlooked over there! I hope at least some people get encouraged to pick it up by this video.
1. Berserk 2. Harleen 3. Blackest Night 4. Uzumaki 5. GYO 6. Joker 7. Batman the killing joke 8. Batman the dark knight master race 9. V for vendetta 10. DeathNote
I love many of the ones you mentioned. Footnotes in Gaza by Joe Sacco is a huge favorite of mine - it's comics journalism at its most powerful, detailing the tragedy of Palestine. That book gave me a new appreciation for the medium and got me back into reading comics regularly. Dragon Hoops by Gene Luen Yang comes out soon and thats hands down a new all time favorite for me, as well as being one of 2020's best graphic novels.
My favorite stories… Miracleman (Alan Moore run) Daredevil: Born Again Batman: Year One Death of Captain Marvel (Marvel’s first graphic novel) Watchmen Dark Knight Returns Wonder Woman (George Perez writer/artist)
Nice video man, I like that there was some stuff I didn't expect on there it's not a typical top 10 list. That was surprising but even more surprising is no Batman???
Great video! If you're looking for more content ideas, I'd be really interested in some long-form videos covering your top ~100 comic series/runs. You don't have to "rank" them necessarily (though it'd be neat if you tried), but maybe think about which "bin" they fit in for you e.g. "personal favorite" > "great" > "good"
I'm now inspired to read Starman and Sandman (finally!) very soon. Some of my faves: The Dark Knight Returns Invincible Saga Watchmen Ex Machina Y: The Last Man Descender Batman Year One The Authority Essex County Mr. Miracle Thor: God of Thunder Great video as always, Omar!
My list is Watchmen, Kingdom Come, All star Superman, Batman the dark knight returns, daytripper, Calvin and Hobbes, Marvels. And I forgot the rest. Anyway love you're Chanell man. Keep putting out videos. You deserve way more subs. Have a good day
New to your channel but you made an instant fan with your rant about how Sandman's ultimate medium will always be the comic. I don't even like Sandman as much as you do (though I do like him) but it's not expressed or understood enough. Comic books are not stepping stones to other better mediums. They are a significant and impactful art form all on their own.
Here are mine: Planetary Transmetropolitan Blackest Night Lucifer Lazarus Criminal Watchmen Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia JSA by Geoff Johns All-Star Superman Batman: No Man's Land Great list Omar
Happy Birthday, Omar! Some great stuff in that list! Currently re-reading a lot of Sandman here these days, just got to the Emperor Norton story in the second Absolute. Gaiman's fantastic, doesn't matter if it's comics, novels, tv (Dr Who, Babylon 5) or "just" retelling Norse mythology. Guy can write. I'd definitely add: Donald Duck& Uncle Scrooge by Barks All-Star Superman + Alan Moore's Superman The Colossal Conan, especially Kurt Busiek's stuff Tintin by Herge Saga Wonder Woman Rebirth (Rucka) Batman DKR
The Sandman, The Lost Girls, The Flowers of Evil, V For Vendetta, Monocyte, Golgo 13, Watchmen, Strangers In Paradise, Requiem: Vampire Knight, Batman (Hush, The Long Halloween & The Killing Joke)

Far Side and Starman....two of my favorites of all time. I even loved those letter pages in Starman. Probably stemmed from my shared love for old, dusty things :)
Great video! I’m ashamed that I have owned Watchmen in tbp for several years and have still yet to read it... there are just so many other great reads!
-Berserk -Blame! -Persepolis -Watchmen Those are all the ones I’d consider some of my favorites that I’ve read, I haven’t read too many at this point so this list will grow over time :)
Starman aww tears man that one I feel's man. I agree that one starman is really good Man I didn't know that this one mean that much to you. And that's really good that it did help you through on the one thing I've always said that you're reading either a comic or just a regular novel or anything the beatings and story can be so much when a writer is able to have it so relatable. And sometimes these characters can help us through some tough times.
"...That's like, your opinion man!" Lol, in all seriousness I greatly enjoy these tales and many more. I'm rather upset Starman has not gotten some big lovely omnis.
I’m completely new to graphic novels. I heard of the Batman who laughs, saw the book and had to buy it. Now I’m got 6 graphic novels on the way. I’ve never heard of any of the ones you listed. I can’t wait to keep diving into these fun reads
Just 10 faves, not necessarily my top 10 (in no particular order): 1. Essex County and Underwater Welder by Jeff Lemire 2. The Sculptor by Scott McCloud 3. Seconds by Bryan Lee O'Malley 4. Wolverine:Old Man Logan by Mark Millar and Steve Niven (havent read any of the series yet) 5. Deadly Class and Black Science by Rick Remender 6. Runaways (The Bryan K. Vaughan/Adrian Alphona run and the current Rainbow Rowell run) 7. Avengers Arena by Dennis Hopeless 8. 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank and We Can Never Go Home by Matt Rosenberg 9. God Country by Donny Cates 10. Batman: Year One, Hush, and White Knight Honorable Mentions: Punk Rock Jesus by Sean Murphy, Ms. Marvel by G. Willow Wilson, and Dr. Strange, the Jason Aaron run + the Donny Cates run. And Calvin & Hobbes by Bill Watterson. And Giant Days by John Alison, I think? Might be getting the name wrong.
Mine? I'll try and pick one from my fav writers (I could pick many Ellis and Moore books) Cerebus: High Society - Sim Elf Quest (series): The Pini's Fell - Ellis V for Vendetta - Moore Teen Titans Omnibus 2 - Wolfman and Perez Thor Omnibus - Walter Simonson Batman Year One - Miller All star Superman - Morrison Astro City Confessions - Busiek Uncle Scrooge: Only a Poor Old Man - Barks
My favourites are: Geoff Johns Green lantern Preacher Watchmen Saga of Swamp thing- Moore Ultimate Spider-Man (the original) Usagi yojimbo Invincible From Hell
Great list. I think you should videos doing top 10 books that changed DC, Marvel, and Manga. It can be 5 books that changed them for the better and 5 for the worse, just a thought.
Very well rounded list, I would also add Dan Clowes’ Like A Velvet Glove Cast in Iron, as well as Alan Moore’s From Hell. I’d probably swap out the Gary Larson with Calvin and Hobbes as well
Currently on a massive Moore binge and am deep into From Hell. It's immense and complex and has such a fascinating occult-ish take on the 'how' and the 'why' of things. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking for comics doing something a little different with the medium.
Wow, I was suprised that Transmetropolitan was not on that list. That series is amazingly good. Same with Preacher. I have read Sandman, Transmetropolitan, and Preacher so many times. They never get old. The dark Tower series is awesome and I love the artwork in those Graphic novels.
Thanks so much Omar. I’ve come back into the comic book world after 30 years away from it. Wow, what a lot of content to catch up with! I’ve just finished the Hellboy library editions…I’m that kid again. 😊👍🏼
Discovered your excellent channel a couple of days ago and I'm currently reading The Eternaut (so grateful for your suggestion!!) - the way it's written evokes The War Of The Worlds but with Juan Salvo's narration instead of Richard Burton. Another series I would suggest is "The Motherless Oven" by Rob Davis. Its a trilogy but so far I've only read the first two books. Do you know about this series?
Agree that “God Loves, Man Kills” is truly one of the best graphic novels ever written and it had a profound effect on me when I was kid and showed me that comics were true art. It’s the one book I recommend to everyone who wants to get into comics.
great video. i have a few of these on my next to read :) just bought the starman omnis 1-6, im not huge into superheroes, but starman looked interesting.
Good selection. Did You Know: The guy that wrote The Eternaut was "disappeared" (i.e. murdered) by his own government? Could you imagine if the CIA murdered Jack Kirby or something? Anyway. I'd have Stuck Rubber Baby on my list. Its pretty awesome, just a story about a young man coming to terms with his sexuality in the midst of being involved in the Civil Rights movement in the mid 1960s.

Love this list!
I'm hoping they come in 2021. :)
I would love for everyone to read Starman.
Thank you so much for watching and the kind words. I really hope they make Starman TPBs too, my friend.
Congrats on the amazing video quality! Everything looks crisp and super-good:)
Thank you so much for the kind words.
Now I want to check out Starman. Cool vid Omar. Happy Birthday.
Thank you, my friend.
Great list, I’d probably include Kraven’s Last Hunt, Squadron Supreme, Superman For All Seasons, and some select Conan and Punisher stories.
Kraven's Last Hunt is phenomenal.
Thank you for highlighting Life amd Times of Scrooge as an American. Don Rosa is so overlooked over there! I hope at least some people get encouraged to pick it up by this video.
1. Berserk
2. Harleen
3. Blackest Night
4. Uzumaki
5. GYO
6. Joker
7. Batman the killing joke
8. Batman the dark knight master race
9. V for vendetta
10. DeathNote
Lighting is great in this video! Better camera too? Looks great!
Thank you for noticing. :)
Thank you for the recommendations.
I actually ordered the Absolute Watchmen last Thursday. I hope it will arrive soon to enjoy it.
I hope you enjoy it.
Omar got sentimental at the end. Now I definitely want to check out Starman. Can't wait for his video on how much this story means to him.
That series means so much to me.
Such great picks. I wasn't expecting to see so much I haven't read yet. Thanks, Omar!
Thank you so much for the kind words.
Brother hell yea all your picks are tops.
I'm just gonna extend your list to 11 and 12, and put Kingdom Come and All-Star Superman on there.
Agreed
Daytripper as well
Those along with Daytripper are in my top 20.
Love your channel, Omar! I'm always glad when I'm notified you've dropped a new vid.
Thank you so much, my friend.
My favorite stories…
Miracleman (Alan Moore run)
Daredevil: Born Again
Batman: Year One
Death of Captain Marvel (Marvel’s first graphic novel)
Watchmen
Dark Knight Returns
Wonder Woman (George Perez writer/artist)
Nice video man, I like that there was some stuff I didn't expect on there it's not a typical top 10 list. That was surprising but even more surprising is no Batman???
Great video! If you're looking for more content ideas, I'd be really interested in some long-form videos covering your top ~100 comic series/runs. You don't have to "rank" them necessarily (though it'd be neat if you tried), but maybe think about which "bin" they fit in for you e.g. "personal favorite" > "great" > "good"
I love this suggestion. Thank you.
I'm now inspired to read Starman and Sandman (finally!) very soon.
Some of my faves:
The Dark Knight Returns
Invincible
Saga
Watchmen
Ex Machina
Y: The Last Man
Descender
Batman Year One
The Authority
Essex County
Mr. Miracle
Thor: God of Thunder
Great video as always, Omar!
Thank you and Love your list.
My list is Watchmen, Kingdom Come, All star Superman, Batman the dark knight returns, daytripper, Calvin and Hobbes, Marvels. And I forgot the rest. Anyway love you're Chanell man. Keep putting out videos. You deserve way more subs. Have a good day
Thanks for sharing and that's a great list.
Thank you so much for being here and yeah I do have strong thoughts on so many books that should be kept just as comics.
A respectable list! I'd like to know more about Scrooge McDuck. Have you done a video on this series?
I haven't, but thats something that I can work on.
Thanks for another great video omar, your passion for these books and the medium really comes across
Thank you so much for watching and the kind words.
Here are mine:
Planetary
Transmetropolitan
Blackest Night
Lucifer
Lazarus
Criminal
Watchmen
Wonder Woman: The Hiketeia
JSA by Geoff Johns
All-Star Superman
Batman: No Man's Land
Great list Omar
Great list.
I've only been reading comics for less than a year and don't get much free time to do so but Planetary and Locke and Key are what I couldn't put down.
Those are great books though.
I'll be reading the first part of maus for my college course soon.
Now that is awesome.
@@NearMintCondition I've been researching the 1954 Senate hearing for my senior thesis.
Thank you. Put many of these on my to read list.
Thank you so much for watching.
Great list Omar. I think I've only read half or less than of this list, I'll add some to my to read list. I hope I get out of them what you did
Thank you so much for watching and the kind words.
I'd definitely add:
Donald Duck& Uncle Scrooge by Barks
All-Star Superman + Alan Moore's Superman
The Colossal Conan, especially Kurt Busiek's stuff
Tintin by Herge
Saga
Wonder Woman Rebirth (Rucka)
Batman DKR
Thank you so much for the kind words. Love your list.
I was going to savage your list but you put Uncle Scrooge on there so I guess I'm happy now.
That's all I've done all my life. Redeem myself. :)
Love the inclusion of farside! What a great video! Thanks for sharing!

Really hope you enjoy them.
Nice video mate keep up the great work. Has some great graphics novel in the video
Thank you so much for watching and the kind words.
You are welcome
Far Side and Starman....two of my favorites of all time. I even loved those letter pages in Starman. Probably stemmed from my shared love for old, dusty things :)
YES SIR!!!
Happy birthday Omar. Live long and prosper 🖖🏻
Thank you so much!
Happy birthday, Omar!
Best wishes.
Thank you, my friend.
I just went and bought Marvels and 4 kids and ordered the others from my library. Thank you for the great video!
I really hope you enjoy them.
Great video! I’m ashamed that I have owned Watchmen in tbp for several years and have still yet to read it... there are just so many other great reads!
Never late than ever. :)
I am watching this 385 days later...still very much in quarantine and still very much enjoying my alone time. Thanks for the list!
Glad you enjoyed it. Crazy how fast time flies. :)
-Berserk
-Blame!
-Persepolis
-Watchmen
Those are all the ones I’d consider some of my favorites that I’ve read, I haven’t read too many at this point so this list will grow over time :)
Starman aww tears man that one I feel's man.
I agree that one starman is really good
Man I didn't know that this one mean that much to you. And that's really good that it did help you through on the one thing I've always said that you're reading either a comic or just a regular novel or anything the beatings and story can be so much when a writer is able to have it so relatable. And sometimes these characters can help us through some tough times.
They sure can, my brother. They sure can.
@@NearMintCondition 👍👍👍👍
"...That's like, your opinion man!" Lol, in all seriousness I greatly enjoy these tales and many more. I'm rather upset Starman has not gotten some big lovely omnis.
Nice
I really hope DC decides to give us the omnibus so others can read them.
@@NearMintCondition Yessir
I’m completely new to graphic novels. I heard of the Batman who laughs, saw the book and had to buy it. Now I’m got 6 graphic novels on the way. I’ve never heard of any of the ones you listed. I can’t wait to keep diving into these fun reads
Just 10 faves, not necessarily my top 10 (in no particular order):
1. Essex County and Underwater Welder by Jeff Lemire
2. The Sculptor by Scott McCloud
3. Seconds by Bryan Lee O'Malley
4. Wolverine:Old Man Logan by Mark Millar and Steve Niven (havent read any of the series yet)
5. Deadly Class and Black Science by Rick Remender
6. Runaways (The Bryan K. Vaughan/Adrian Alphona run and the current Rainbow Rowell run)
7. Avengers Arena by Dennis Hopeless
8. 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank and We Can Never Go Home by Matt Rosenberg
9. God Country by Donny Cates
10. Batman: Year One, Hush, and White Knight
Honorable Mentions: Punk Rock Jesus by Sean Murphy, Ms. Marvel by G. Willow Wilson, and Dr. Strange, the Jason Aaron run + the Donny Cates run. And Calvin & Hobbes by Bill Watterson. And Giant Days by John Alison, I think? Might be getting the name wrong.
Nice
Great list! I really need to get a copy of Essex County.
Happy Birthday Omar!
Thank you so much!
Just getting into comic books so this list was very helpful! Watchmen so far is my favorite
Glad it was helpful and Watchmen is phenomenal.
Mine? I'll try and pick one from my fav writers (I could pick many Ellis and Moore books)
Cerebus: High Society - Sim
Elf Quest (series): The Pini's
Fell - Ellis
V for Vendetta - Moore
Teen Titans Omnibus 2 - Wolfman and Perez
Thor Omnibus - Walter Simonson
Batman Year One - Miller
All star Superman - Morrison
Astro City Confessions - Busiek
Uncle Scrooge: Only a Poor Old Man - Barks
Great list. Seriously.
I love Hellblazer, Sandman and Watchmen.
Hit a 👍 if you agree.
I agree. :)
@@NearMintCondition Thank you sir🙏
Love to you from India.
But I think Hellblazer is quite underrated.
My favourites are:
Geoff Johns Green lantern
Preacher
Watchmen
Saga of Swamp thing- Moore
Ultimate Spider-Man (the original)
Usagi yojimbo
Invincible
From Hell
Great list.
@Walid Infernüs Nope, not planning on reading it,Watchmen is a complete story, there was no need for a sequel that too without consent of Alan Moore
We read Maus in 7th grade ! I agree that it should be in all of the schools
I love that you did!
Great video as always.
Thank you so much for watching and the kind words.
Great list. I think you should videos doing top 10 books that changed DC, Marvel, and Manga. It can be 5 books that changed them for the better and 5 for the worse, just a thought.
I love this idea. Thank you.
Very well rounded list, I would also add Dan Clowes’ Like A Velvet Glove Cast in Iron, as well as Alan Moore’s From Hell. I’d probably swap out the Gary Larson with Calvin and Hobbes as well
My wife would swap out the Far Side for Calvin and Hobbes too.
It is a difficult list to put together.
@@NearMintCondition For sure. I can come up with the first 5 of my top ten easy, after that is becomes much more difficult.
First of all, thank you so much and welcome to the channel. I haven't read Motherless Oven. But I'm going to look it up.
Agree that “God Loves, Man Kills” is truly one of the best graphic novels ever written and it had a profound effect on me when I was kid and showed me that comics were true art. It’s the one book I recommend to everyone who wants to get into comics.
It really is.
Just what I needed. I'm relatively new to comics and graphic novels and I've only read 2 from this list. Much appreciated, man.
I'm so happy I could help.
great video. i have a few of these on my next to read :) just bought the starman omnis 1-6, im not huge into superheroes, but starman looked interesting.
I'm glad you were able to get those Starman books.
I did know that. When I review the book I was going to mention that. Damn shame. Stuck Rubber Baby. I will check that out.
Great video as always Omar :)
Thank you so much for watching and the kind words.
Please do more videos like this where you get to be more yourself and get to talk about comics.
You got it. :)
I'm SO glad you included Starman. It's my number one, ever! (Well, tied with Sandman.)
It is one of the best books I've ever read.
