Gihren's Green is literally the ultimate Gundam game for any Gundam fans, especially the ones who loves the UC timeline, because the game allows you to take control on the big factions, including the decision making stuffs, which will led to lots of "what if" scenarios. What if Ramba Ral got his Doms when he lost his Gouf? What if Matilda were prohibited to supply the White Base? What if Zeon decides to mass-produced the Gyans instead of Gelgoogs? What if the Cyclops Squad were given a highly accurate intel when they assaulting the colony? All of those is why Gihren's Greed series is a really good Gundam game, because you can literally "fix" those bad decisions that happened throughout the timeline, while creating your own perfect future. TBH, I'm bummed that Bamco didn't continue the series again after the last PSP release, or expand it to other universes as well, like to Cosmic Era, 00, AGE, etc, since it deserves another sequel...

gihren greed is not from psp era, its from sega saturn. the gameplay didnt change, all the psp did was add more pictures(resolution) the reason why patching the game was so hard was that all the button and text was pictures its what they did for early visual novels, by having a moving black bar go down to reveal text on the picture behind it. the only thing that porting to newer system allowed the addition of more factions to play as and more scenarios(MSV/side stories events). gihren greed on normal is still hard to win when you have to balance the chaos-lawful bar (think reputation in Red Dead Redemption) gihren greed way to play is use your ships to move your units(repairing them mid move) and deploying them close to the enemy. in each battle phase, there's 5 turns per sector, you are to zerg the enemies. if you encounter Aces, the numbers are your only hope. you can stack 3 Squads(3 grunt units per squad) per tile and the hexagon allows you to attack a single enemy 6 times if they are surrounded. effing char wipe outs 3 GM squads with barely a scratch to his Z'gok, but he lost his 2 squads on regular z'goks. you can also add fighters and bombers into the stack to reduce the enemy accuracy when they have to shoot both up and down. if you see lots of enemies in a sector, its better to retreat. ship and unit building takes time, upgrading is instant. so if you managed to research hard without losing your Primary sectors/captured Odessa early. your guncannons can be upgraded to the Guncannon II (the single beam cannon shoulder) or your GMs into GM command or the striker if you need a close combat. downside is leader/command units are usually single units in a squad SD G generation is the game i would give to strategy players that are into gundam. its has simpler menu, the map is a grid not Hexagons and when selecting which attack to use, there will be an overlay and you can undo your unit positioning if your attack cant reach (some units have a blind spot of at 2 squares)
I really wish Gundam games like this would be ported to modern day consoles. It's truly a shame they are stuck in old gen systems, but Bandai kinda sucks at keeping Gundam games alive. Ya know, Piracy is good for Game Preservation especially for games like this that may as well be a step away from being Vaporware. At least the Pirates can keep these games alive.
Just to make sure, I do acknowledge this being the case. I don't really care how a game is preserved, as long as it is. I just don't care for people who say emulation equals piracy, which it doesn't and never has. Pirates gonna pirate, and that doesn't bother me in the slightest.
@@KinzieK Look, if you can't get it easily or cheaply just do whatever. There's a ton of retro games that would be left forgotten without Piracy, Universe at War is one such game and it's too good to let fade away. There's also games stuck in Licensing Hell like War for Cybertron (This one needs to get put into MyAbandonWare or something) or the Battle for Middle-Earth (These are on MyAbandonWare) games that are so tied up that Piracy is the only way to play them. I genuinely favor Piracy and Pirates because they at least preserve a game far beyond the point the Devs would have long stopped caring or the publisher would have quit selling it. Honestly, with modern first-party Nintendo games I actually think it's the morally correct choice TO pirate if you want to play them because otherwise you have to fork over FULL PRICE amounts of money for a game that could be a few years old and I say fuck that. Call me a Pirate if you want but I am NOT going to spend over 70$ on a game that's been out long enough that on any other console it would have dropped to around 10-20$ in price. Man I wish someone would find an easy way to mod the later model Switches...
But gundam 1 actually had good writing. Its not all lines that're jumbled up n used in different missions. They actually made cutscenes for those unique interactions and really fun dialogue on the preparations
...ok, we get it, you aren't fond of grand strategy games 😂 tbf such "classic Koei style" (even if this series isn't by Koei) strategy games are hard to get into even when fully translated, if one doesn't have a manual (in known language) handy (or a tutorial, but again, translated). As things stand currently, even I, who can play Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV and VI (just look at those games), couldn't comfortably play Gihren's Greed. This also means that, no matter how it might piss you off, you are not really allowed to say that Gihren's Greed sucks, because you were justifiably unable to even comprehend it to be able to judge its standing in its genre. Henceforth you rightly called it "Not For Me", which makes you... an at least decently intelligent human being, compared to, let's say, some Fortinte kids, who would look at something like Europa Universalis or Xrusader Kings, and bash it for not being enjoyable for them.
I did read the entire thing, but it was pretty verbose, so I'm gonna assume that you picked up what I put down, and respected that I didn't call the game bad. 😂 I do like *some* strategy games, but not all. Hope you enjoyed the video 👌🏽
@@KinzieK I did enjoy it, good sir. Man, would I play Gihren's Greed if it was properly in English... but low chance of a fan patch doing everything, and the series seems pretty dead... *compared to Koei's Romance of The Three Kingdoms and Nobunaga's Ambition series, even though they are basically the same genre as Gihren's Greed.* Heck, the GG's title is a reference to Nobunaga's Ambition (in Japanese at least: "Gihren no Yabou" referring to "Nobunaga no Yabou")

As far as mecha simulation, it's probably the best overall Gundam game. Can be difficult early game. UC Climax for the PS2. Very late PS2 title with a lot of improvements on the Federation vs Zeon formula before it became the Versus series.
personally Gundam Breaker 3 is the best of the set, only released in Asia as usual. DWG was great fun and I miss it so much yet Tecmo have not been rereleasing their own DW games and it would require Bandai and Tecmo both, to be interested which even if Tecmo were; Bandai is always making weird calls regarding Gundam. They complain Gundam is not popular in the west yet keep the bangers like GB3 Asia-only
Yeah Gihren's Greed is basically made for UC Fans as one of Gihren's Greed biggest selling points is the many what if scenarios you're gonna encounter like what if Char successfully captured the Gundam, what if Garma didn't die or what if Gihren isn't such a fuckin Prick.stuff like that not to mention the playable Commander(?) ranging from Char where he ditched his mask declares he's the son of Zeon(btw Zeon is the name of an actual guy who was assassinated where his reign was taken over by the Zabis which led to the events of the first Gundam anime) and started a Zeon Civil War to be able to Command as Amuro's Dad who's ending btw resulting in him inventing Skynet. There's also the many Mobile Suits you're gonna develop that's never went to Prototype stage in the Anime but was able to now due to the what if nature of the game which leads to more varied type of Units.
Lol, man never stop making vids! I was dying the whole time 😂. In 2021 I was really craving this game, I bought a ps3 just to be able to play this game!! And play it I did, I think I have over 200 hrs. I also made a tier list, I will not tell you what the strongest suits are I want you to figure it out yourself(part of the fun, right?). The strongest suit can one shot or near one shot boss suits on max difficulty ☠☠☠.
Nah, I'm good on that one. (Alejandro was honestly forgettable except for his MA which "Ooh, it's gold".) Ali Al Saachez can go BURN in a ditch (You don't mess with my favorite Sniper bros. and expect me to like you) and the A-Laws? (Do we REALLY need more "Titan" factions?)
Gihren's Greed is a pretty simple strategy game already man, if you freak-out about Gihren's Greed then go check out Paradox's games, yes people do stares at the world map for thousands of hours with no "gameplay" whatsoever.
I totally get not getting Gihren's Greed. It doesn't present well, it is very clunky, it doesn't explain it base systems well at all, and its graphics have not aged well at all. That said I would love to play a modern version of GG! I love map games in general, and giant robots are amazing so them together get me real happy.
Reborn was alright, though since they didn't subtitle some of the voice lines, you miss out on the tiny interactions for paired musou techniques! Gihren no Yabou is...... not for everyone, and there's a reason why they stopped making them (they sold like shit and were SUPER obtuse). i love turn based strategy games, but even then, i can't really get into it that much. the "what-if" aspects are neat, but they're overblown because a lot of people don't understand Japanese and just make up shit as they go along about it. i dunno if any of the dialogue I translated ended up in the translation patch, but i tried to translate most of the events for the tee-TAAAAHNZ campaign. the fact that the translation team chose not to translate the pre- and post-battle dialogue is a shame, though. If they ever do a translation patch of G-Gen DS, you should check it out. the animations aren't great or anything, but it's a lot closer to Super Robot Wars, just on a hex grid instead of squares. unlike the other G-Gen games, it's also a crossover plot title instead of just going through the original show's plotlines in order; and the new game+, SP Mode, includes a fun what-if story.
It's absolutely criminal that you don't have more subscribers. I love the energy and I laugh through the entirety of every video haha! Keep up the good work!
Great video (and mental imagery of Loran :P ) but a bit surprised you didn't mention how the unicorn story just kinda randomly stops midway through the anime. Like, my partner and I couldn't stop laughing at how bizarrely sudden the ending is.
The reason why I like playing GG outside of its many faction and sub faction and the tons of suit...YOU CAN COMMIT WAR CRIMES AND NO ONE STOPPING YOU!! LETS GOOOOO!!! But still i would agree GG is definitely not for everyone, especially how the gameplay is
Bro it seems like you have never seen a turn based strategy game in your life. Why would you even compare it to the Reborns series, which is a completely different genre.
Okay, the reason why Gihren's Greed is there is because Gihren is a character in the MSG story and the game has his name in it. I didn't compare them. They are two separate sections of the same video. And I think Disgaea and FE: Three Houses are pretty cool, or do I need to like Gihren's Greed for it to count? 🤔
i took it as a temporary aside, tbh. i love turn based games but GG feels obtuse, and while i like the what-if aspects of it, i can't say that's enough impetus for me to really sit down and play what is a kinda "meh" attempt at a Koei military sim.

love this game it feels like 60fps
i wanna play reborns but its a bit expensive to dl even today, especially if u want all the DLC.
Any one else wish we got a dynasty warriors gundam Empires
Yay it's daddy welcome back from the milk run
Char is a Seto Kaiba wannabe, actually that's too generous.
Char is a Jack Atlas wannabe.
Char the type of dude to summon Red Dragon Archfiend and then attack Yusei directly for 3000 life points.
@@KinzieK Char is the type of dude to forget that Red Dragon Archfiend destroys his own monsters during the End Phase if they do not declare an attack
It actualy do, and yes, i am lying.
The random SO3 drop.
Then you'll LOVE it here in the not to distant future.
@@KinzieK Sounds like you're making a video about SO3

I still have trouble deciding if DWG2 or Reborn is the better game. Still like the best Gundam games for me.
I'd play Reborn before 2, but both are still my favorites and I'd play both eventually.
what do expect it rts Gihren's Greed is relax game
I don't know jack shit about Gundam but I'm just here to support the channel.
It's always a pleasure seeing you here. Thank you for all of your support!
Reborn was great , just wish that the more of the gundam 00 villain's were in the game and that more of the ace suits had the full move set's .
Completely forgot about Alejandro was thinking Ali al saachez and the throne siblings they had fun MS.@@Phoenix_Destiny_Kai
you can redownload it or buy the european version
I wish we got a good Gundam game. GBO2 and Evolution doesn't count.
Gihren's Greed is a pretty simple strategy game already man, if you freak-out about Gihren's Greed then go check out Paradox's games, yes people do stares at the world map for thousands of hours with no "gameplay" whatsoever.
nah, I'd pass.
oh hey, I watch a video on time?!?
Also I agree, Seed Destiny Is.
LMAO it just IS
I totally get not getting Gihren's Greed.
If any of your work went into the patch, then I give you your props. It's hard work and I acknowledge that.
God damn it Bandai when will you port EXVS to PC?
Everyone wake up peak dropped.
Is there a discord?
1:05 what did she mean by this???? (Great vid. 10/10)
Gudnam
It's absolutely criminal that you don't have more subscribers. I love the energy and I laugh through the entirety of every video haha! Keep up the good work!
It is criminal! That's why they need to start following the law and subbing to me! 😂😂 Thank you SO much for your support!
AUEG is truly the worst possible name for a faction.
Also, Haman-sama banzai!!
Great video (and mental imagery of Loran :P ) but a bit surprised you didn't mention how the unicorn story just kinda randomly stops midway through the anime. Like, my partner and I couldn't stop laughing at how bizarrely sudden the ending is.
LMAO you're absolutely right. I just didn't focus too much on it after MSG, but you're not wrong haha
10:36 if you leave us alone we’ll leave you alone. Don’t tempt me into a debate about why GBO2 is a good game and you should just git gud.
Yeah let’s just not…
When it stops making me laugh, I'll probably consider it 😂
@@KinzieK love ya too, KK
