Not hijacking, just comparing. There are several Paki channels showing steel working and large truck repair down to complete disassembly and rebuild as well as primitive casting. Wonder what part of a ship the U shaped steel was cut from.
Back in the late 80s I worked in South Manchester (England), commissioning fancy cranes. We hired a small corner in a huge warehouse to factory assemble and test a large crane which was too big for our fabrication shop. At least half of the rest of the warehouse was full of machine tools like these, being collected together for shipping to India. It's nice to see equipment like this still being used for its intended purpose.
This exactly happened here in New Zealand 25 years ago, as all of our small firms were sold out, family firms of 3 generations all closed or the railways ship's infrastructure military and private sector, now all from China, strangely enough if China invade Taiwan,
Congratulations to the workers and film makers for showing the brutal work crafting steel into machinery. A fascinating view into the working conditions and bravery these men endure.
After 40 or so of these fab videos, this is one that is very impressive! Our mill fab shops over here would have a heart attack if they seen these working conditions and shop layout...but, still impressive!!
I love these clips and these hard-working people. What they do, so quickly and accurately is memorizing. I know they are not up to OSHA standards. I wish they were for their sake. They all seem to have endless energy. All true craftsmen. two thumbs up!
My greetings from Germany. These are incredibly bad and unsafe working conditions! Any safety engineer would cry. Also people from the unions - if there are any there. But my great respect for the men's performance!!
That's why this type of work is going to the developing world, its uneconomical from a capitalists point of view, lives are cheaper than a safe workshop.
If our Republican party had its way, conditions in the U.S. would be the same as this. Regulations? We don't need no stinking regulations! You get hurt? Tough beans!
No matter how many videos I’ve watched of different steel companies fabricating massively colossal mechanical mechanisms I’m always in absolute awe and astonishment at their ability to create such colossal pieces of work that function like well oiled machines they were designed for I know I sound a little naive but the shear scale involved in the designing and construction of the colossal machines is astounding given how old-fashioned and outdated their technology and facilities are they nevertheless seem to achieve their purpose regardless of the many technical glitches and challenges they face daily but the danger is a ever increasing degree of complexity towards their working on a colossal mechanism of such scale and weight 23000kg mechanical wonder

Love the heading, very creative. "rival Cutting edge Eng Australia!" Oh that is funny. I just wonder how many injuries those poor workers sustain in a year. Let alone how many make it to the end of a working life uninjured. Standards and quality of work........don't even get me started!
Unfortunately, there are castes there and this is their business. Those above them don't care how someone who turns cast iron and whose hands look like they are made of iron will wash themselves. There is a young boy who prepares the gears. As I watch, he can't wash himself for days. I am amazed that there are quite a lot of old people and they have all their limbs!😥
Great workmanship. Safety is no concern here. No steel towed work boots, no face shields, no hard hats, no fire extinguishers. This is why our stuff comes from overseas, the little stuff like saving lives doesn't matter.
It's not the hammer that makes me cringe. Its the dirt that gets into the bearings when you work in the dirt installing them. You need to be spotless when working with bearings. There is no compromise there.
I would certainly have thought so. But look at the age of these machines, these cars, trucks, garbage compactors etc. are all 1940,50 era products. Originally put into place then and now being rebuilt as they wear out or down. The question to be asked is how often has this repair had to happen in the past?
Kurtis uses PPE, and works to finer tolerances. Also 2 different scales. Thanks for reinforcing Kurtis's high standards. Blessings to all the workers and for your skills. As a suggestion, you could think more about your own personal safety in this work area.
Suggestion - If you want more views captioning would help, a lot. I'm a machine tool guy so I get it. A lot of people aren't going to understand what's going on or how amazing what you are doing it. It's just a bunch of rusty stuff to them.
Thanks for the suggestion! We'll definitely consider adding more descriptive captions to help viewers better understand and appreciate the intricate work we do. There is no comparison to Kurtis at CEE. He, his brother, and his girlfriend are a very tiny operation compared to these guys. I am constantly amazed to the ingenuity, craftsmanship and determination they have with very old and rudimentary tools at their disposal. I do have a few questions though... Where is the floor ? What are the heavy machinery sitting on ? Why no uniform or basic safety gear ? They are obviously making a profit because even in a third world country, those materials are still expensive, there HAS to be some sort of profit. Are all their jobs paid for in food and accommodation ? Are all their jobs/projects profitless ? I am at a loss in understanding. Phew! It's like a workout just watching them, right? 😅 But hey, that's the mark of a job well done! These guys are absolute champs. Thanks for cheering them on! 😊👍
Well what should I say, where to start? It is a really nice selection of DON'Ts in mechanical engineering: Lack of maintainance and cleaning of your machinery and the workshop in general. A lack of care for the co-workers safety and work. Everything what is not a throw fit, is hammer fitted, poor surface quality of functional surfaces. Everything is dropped somewhere on the floor. Parts, tools, hardware. Machinery abuse all the time. The GDR build WMW horizontal boring mill is totally worn out by the lack of maintainance, als well as the radial drill. No constant speeds anymore, just rattling around. Do those guys know that you can lubricate bedways and spindles? Welding clamps to the parts without covering the machine table or spindles. The fitting of the roller bearings is a nice example of complete waste of time. Looks like they are second hand or just stored in the dirt. Banging them onto the shaft with the biggest hammer is nice. It will be fucked up before the delivery to the customer. All the grinding dust flying around make it even better. Why do the paint the mill at the end? Just to make it look blue when delivering it? No primer, no filler, no suitable coating thickness, again a waste of time. Don't get me wrong, these men are working hard. But this lack of understanding and care makes their product even worser. So much could be improved just by a bit of cleaning, maintainance and care, without big investments. Even in the time of the industrial revolution the conditions were better ;-) Work safety is not worth to mention, just doesn't exist in their dictionary.
This is apples and oranges to try to compare to Curtis's work. These men are doing a good job for their conditions but as a machinist at 68 years old I see no comparison.
If cutting edge worked like this he would be closed down ..homeless isn't home less he is looked after with heaps of love as for swearing who cares its a workshop

I’m sure Curtis would take his hat off to these guys working their guts out to produce a product that clearly satisfies their client otherwise they’d be out of business. If they adhered to all the Health & Safety rules many people seem to demand they’d never make a profit.
I bow to the ingenuity of these lads and the dangerous environment they work in. However, if I was investing in the end product I doubt I'd wish to watch this video! Or if i did one would increase they insurance of the plant being perfect.
two totally different types of machining. Kurtis works with parts that require infinite precision and tolerance. These gentlemen work in harsh conditions with limited resources and show how these jobs were done during the Industrial Revolution. you cant compare apples and oranges.
Just watched a video on german ww2 railroad gun production and they had more organised workplace and better workgear 80 years ago than theese guys have today.😂
With respect, the comparison is flawed. Germany is/was a first world country with access to capital and producing high-tech products. These guys are in a third world country, their population is bigger by a factor of 10+, their equipment is probably imported from first-world countries where it was considered as scrap. As someone else said, let’s celebrate the artistry and workmanship.
@@Tedinoz Your arguments are flawed. Germany did not just spawn a " first world country with access to capital and producing high-tech products". They worked their way up to it from nothingh. Just like other European nations. The diference is values and respect for human lives. Europe learned to respect and invest in their workers and theese guys still have to reach that level.
There is absolutely no way, to compare your work with that from CEE. First, Curtis does a complete different job. He also works strictly to international standards - clean and precise, what would be hard to do with your equipment and in your working environment, and what is also not necessary for you at this moment. You do a great job by planning and constructing your products, and with the time, you will be able to invest in a clean and flat factory floor, the right measuring tools and so on. Wish you the best on that way. (The machines you use may be old, but some of them are really impressive - keep them alive!)
I respect the hard work, all the labor, and ingenuity. What I don't understand is why work in filth and squalor. Does anybody clean anything anywhere anytime???? Floor and surrounding areas are covered with filth..
Great work guys another great job done. UK 💪💪💪. I just want to add / people leave reviews about what these men have on there feet or it’s not a clean work environment/ these men know the danger and if some thing drops on there feet it would be not good but they know that and for a clean work environment that’s up to the boss to have it sorted out. I did say in another video I would clean sweep the floor so it’s all nice a flat and leave big bins next to each machine and clean the metal bits up at the end of each day that’s what I would want done all so safety glasses and masks when cleaning the rust off the metal but I’m not the boss. All I do is watch there great videos and there skills and I will watch more videos. 👍
Your appreciation for their work and concern for their safety and working conditions is commendable! It's important for employers to prioritize safety and cleanliness in the workplace, and your suggestions for improvement reflect that. Keep enjoying their videos and celebrating their skills! 🌟🛠️
I watch the India /pakistan machine vids as well as truck/engine /frame rebuild vids. Pretty regularly, and it occurs to me that the use of hammering is far more prolific than western culture calls for. And some how it would appear it’s just as effective. I’m thinking sound harmonics might play a larger roll than we might think.
Kurtis is smart & doesn't need a dozen Hydraulic Hands! Curtis has his trusty Safety Officer, Homeless who is desperately needed wherever these guys are? Karen is an awesome producer as well! I gotta give these guys creedo, its just a way different way of going about doing basically the same type of work.

All that safety garb is mostly set into place just to appease insurance companies, it's extremely uncomfortable and can cause problems like stupid safety glasses fogging up. I've seen some of these guys wearing closed toe shoes. To each their own.

I’ve been watching theses videos for a long time. One thing I’ve noticed is most every thing they make is out of recycled steel (used) so that steel is already been stressed by what ever it was before. The men do nice work given the machinery they have to work with and how dirty everything is it’s a health hazard and it seams they have to through every thing they work on in the dirt on the floors. Come on clean the place up before a good man gets hurt or killed-

There is no damn comparison, one has precision, the other guess and hit it.
two totally different types of machining. Kurtis works with parts that require infinite precision and tolerance. These gentlemen work in harsh conditions with limited resources and show how these jobs were done during the Industrial Revolution. you cant compare apples and oranges.
The western world would fail trying to do this with the machine tools these guys use!
These machinists sure know how to work wonders with what they have! Their ingenuity and resourcefulness are truly remarkable. 🌟🛠️
Thank you for showing us what for it is used, many times saw a video making Huge machinery never saw what it's purpose,
bet these guys are more careful where they put their feet than most here in the USA
Perhaps they have less accidents because of the horrific consequences, but somehow I doubt it.
Only one Word : excellent .
Dirt is the floor there's not concrete under that dirt
Esta industria sin esta gente NO podria fabricar esta maquinas especializarlas costaria varios años.
Never laughed so much in all my life what an utter shower from start to finish not in the same league as Curtis !
Very interesting heavy engineering. I think it was very nice of you to pay respect to CEE.
Absolutely! We're glad you found it interesting. CEE deserves all the respect for their contributions to heavy engineering. 🌟🔩
WOW, These MEN are lifting and machining some extremely heavy Cast Iron or Steel. These MEN are very talented people. It would be nice if these MEN had SAFETY GEAR FOR PROTECTION. Like Steel Toed Boots,Gloves,Breathing Protection and Safety Glasses. I guess these MEN are just happy to have a job
All that safety garb is mostly set into place just to appease insurance companies, it's extremely uncomfortable and can cause problems like stupid safety glasses fogging up. I've seen some of these guys wearing closed toe shoes. To each their own.
@@keithroper7056safety glasses are stupid? Did you know you can loose your sight only once? When you’re blind will you work in a factory? Will you be able to earn money to feed yourself.
They are a proud people. But Curtis is precise.......and Australian.
"you guys need safety glasses" "no,, we drink from bottle"
Doing hard work with skill and precession. Long live all with good health and with the needy wealth. Mother is goddess and father is god.
respect females.
Fantastic engineers and great watch from start to finish. 👍👍👍
Absolutely! These machinists are true engineering wizards, and it's a joy to watch them work their magic from start to finish! 🌟🔧
That was really somthing to maks. The welder has a time! Thankse
I almost cringe when I see these guys doing anything with bearings.
Hey, we get it! It might seem a bit unconventional, but sometimes we've got to get a little creative with our methods. 😄 While using a hammer to install bearings might make you cringe, rest assured that they knows exactly what they're doing. Thanks for sharing your concerns though! 🛠️👍
@@hydraulichandsThe hammer is OK, it's the dirt on it that gets thrown into the bearing!. Just wipe it down or give it a wack against anything to get the loose stuff off of it.
He is the 1st person I've seen this worker wearing flip flop with socks😂
either way both are pleasurable to watch. just curtis is in modern tooling vs these guys in the 1940's - 50's. same process's. I'd bet there a couple machines these guys use that curtis would love to have and vise versa.
They used large and almost solid metal. How if there's a broken part underneath?
They are very smart to finish that hard job. they are professional workers.Succes.We can learn .Thanks.
Why don’t they pack the bearings with grease before putting them in place
Steel fabbed copy of 1950s Birdsboro rolling mill and stands
Parabéns para essa equipe esses sim são heróis de verdade
i wondered how they trammed that big linear shaped?
Measuring equipment?
those guys with the oxyacetylene cutting gear..."safety glasses? safety shoes? I'm still here, aren't I?"
it would be interesting to see the precision of the final gear?
You guys fascinate me, you do such precision work with such old equipment? I would love to visit your shop someday.
Come on clean the place up before a good man gets hurt or killed-
You actually think you rival Cutting Edge Engineering? You've got to be kidding!! Curtis works alone! Solo! He does what you do but alone! No comparison at all.
I am wondering what size cutting tip is used
If the video is left at normal speed we can speed it up with settings if we want to. I'd like to see how they really work.
then slow the video down.
I was wondering about that I think they moved pretty slowly
EXPECTACULAR!!!!!!( ME PREOCUPA LOS CIMIENTOS(PISO) , DONDE APOYA ESA ESTRUCTURA)
Ah, the use of the Pakistani micrometer (BFH) to fit what are possibly precision engineered parts like bearings :)
So no paint between parts and no grease between parts. Should work just fine
Haven’t seen any workmanship posting that hit the quality of CEE production from this geographical arena. Most of the manufactured or remanufactured or repaired goods would entice me to up my life insurance coverage!
How do you stall a drill bit like that? Was the guy asleep, or just doesn't care. It was probably the same guy that bent the shaft on their "drill press".
Haha, sometimes our machinists like to keep things interesting! 😄 But hey, every setback is just another opportunity for them to showcase their problem-solving skills! 💡🔧
Rival ? No personality, Not in English(no idea what anyone says), No amazing Karen editing, No homeless or birds or Roos!!! Zero in common. This is uninteresting clickbait.
All I want to know is where can I get work clothes like what these men wear? What material are they made from? 🤷♂️
Working with heavy metal in this kind of factory, the owner of this factory should have more concern about his worker's safetiness , no boots, helmet, high visibility jackets though they are hard worker's but safetiness be priorities
Hey, Where is Homie, the safety director?
