After Thinking About It I've Come To The Conclusion That The Process Is To Take The Hardness Out Of The Steel!!! Bet Those Are Ship Propeller Shaft Pieces That Are Most Definitely Heat Treated Hardness!!! So The Steel Has To Be Annealed So It Can Be Machined!!!
@@rockerpat1085 That makes sense to anneal something like that. Didn't think it would stay hot in something like sand for 10 days. Has to be some other material they are using to allow the metal to cool over that long of a time.

The annealing Increases machinability, then the piece is quenched to restore its initial hardness.
Could not figure the reasoning for covering these ingots in white power and let set for 10 days?
I believe it’s part of their annealing process of the steel.
So it has better flavor!
