I am always in AWE when I watch these guys tackle these Huge Jobs with nothing but breaker bars and hand tools and it is truly incredible to see~!! Every time I see someone cry about not having power tools and dozens of battery operated wrenches and gander cranes I wish they would have to spend a tour with these guys~! Right, we should all aspire to be literally dirt poor mechanics in Pakistan who can't even afford a welding helmet, and probably make as much in a year as an American mechanic makes in a week. If you want to break your back for pennies a day, go join them- some people try to actually build a better industry and working environment so that people have options other than to die in completely preventable mishaps, or live with broken backs from working hard labor from the age of 9.

Nothing like fitting a new seal using the sharp end of a screwdriver. Don't grind out the crack, just weld over it. Wipe the old seals down, chuck them on the ground, soak them in oil and put them back in. Amazing work technique.
If you looked carefully you would have seen the welder arc gouge the crack/old weld. These guys know more about keeping worn out equipment in the field and making money/progress. Working on heavy equipment means a lot of make-do, not everyone has a Cat dealership right down the road. The screwdriver on the o-ring was on the back side non sealing surface of the ring. And it wasn’t a screwdriver it was an old valve. Make no mistake, these are good-old-boys who know exactly what they are doing.
@@petermoto409 I noticed they removed a lot of streel around the crack and then filled that space. Like the fact there are two or three masters, three journeymen and three apprentice labourers (and make-do tools) --- looks all good from my perspective.
My favorite part is where the guy is inspecting the shiny new tapered roller bearing to make sure its clean and undamaged, and then he throws it in the dirt.

Look again. If that old weld hasn't been removed by about a half inch plus before he started welding again then I'm, and you, are blind. These guys do phenomenal repairs that in the western world would give you nightmares but they keep the stuff running at minimal costs. What amazed me is that they seemed to have the exact correct wrenching socket, puller adapters and special tools exactly when necessary so this was not their first trip around this block. They've been here before. Another thing that stood out is they all had shoes (safety?) on instead of Sandals.

Very impressive THE skill involved, the use of very basic but exactly the tools needed. The use of the machines power to make it possible. But to me most of all the way the guys worked together as a team. Always moving in just at the right moment needed to help take the strain or fit the correct piece. Would have taken massively expensive and complicated workshop facilities to do the same task in one of the 'Developed' countries. Very impressive.

While I don't recommend some of the repairs they do on critical mechanical parts this particular repair is justified. Stress fractures can usually be repaired with a welding repair.
As a person that does Marine repair for a living and also a Cert Auto Tech have nothing but respect for these guys too bad the younger generation in the US has gotten so lazy companies in the trades here are screaming for help and nobody wants to work and a hand out. US has gone to shit. Admire these people that is hard work

Pakistani doctsrs are performing best in the world like usa, england arabia etc. Producing fighter jets. Missile system is best in the world. We r doing best under our available resources.

The best part was towards the end, the 2 guys underneath the front blade with no dunnage, no regard for safe practices whatsoever. O rings jammed in with screwdrivers, splines left dry as a fart, it could be picked apart all day long but it's working again for the time being, SMH...

He used a gouging rod to burn out the old weld(s) before he did the redid the weld..
Measure it with a Micrometer, Mark it with Chalk, Cut it with a Torch
The guys skill at arc gouging with a 6013 rod is actually impressive.

i didnt know the torque spec for that spindle nut was 2 guys
With an 8' pipe.Shorter pipes give lower torque values.
Or three guys then back it off a quarter turn.

This truly makes do with the most basic tools available, I have never seen rails and tracks worn to the point of being used up before.
So this is what warranty work looks like and a dealer repair shop. I just have to say they're attention and commitment to safety is second to none.
Much respect! In the USA that would have cost 20 k dollars plus another 20k for parts ..our USA mechanics are good just to change parts.
